In the event that I had a maintenance emergency they got someone out to my unit right away to fix the issue. Even if it was not an emergency they would often get it fixed right away. My main reason for leaving was so I could move closure to my work office. The price of rent and what is offered I say is fair and reasonable and worth your time to check out and consider. I would consider doing business again with Schneider Property Management depending on where life leads me. Do your due diligence read the lease and understand what is expected of you and you shouldn't have any issues.

This was apparently not enough for Medley Properties, who kept my entire security deposit on the grounds that they require AT LEAST 3 MONTHS NOTICE. Who on earth has EVER heard of this policy? Medley Properties will refuse to give you your security deposit even when the property is returned in perfect condition. They even tried to bill $400 for "cleaning". The house was professionally cleaned prior to the Medley inspection, so that's proven false. It takes everything in me not to egg this building every day I drive by it. Avoid these monsters like the plague, unless you too want to have 1200 dollars stolen from you. I cannot stress this enough. As if the theft weren't enough, this guy's bumper is covered in Trump related bumper stickers. Would leave a -1 if it were possible.

The OWNER of the building was out of town and had his heat way too low in his unit on the first floor. The entry pipes were part of that, had burst. We heard water and called him, and he walked us through shutting off the water main valve and was on site within 30 minutes, had a repairman there the same day. That is hard to do in January in a huge freeze! But he has an established network of professional service people. If we had just gotten voicemail who knows how much damage would have happened. He really takes care of things and protects landlords when they don't know they need it. Highly recommend!

Like most places, MPM required a $20 background check fee for a property. No big deal. We paid the $40 the night BEFORE we saw the Apt we were so excited about. Drove 2 hours the next day from MA to see the apt and met Zach who enthusiastically showed us the place. He thought we would make "great tenants" and said he'd talk to the owner of said property, and we'd have an answer on Friday (we visited Weds). Friday came and went...nothing. The following week came and went...nothing! We didn't get a response til over 2+ weeks later saying that "the apt has been rented to somebody else"...gotta LOVE that classic line! Mind you this is after emailing the owner of the company AND multiple emails/phone calls to Zach + Co which the majority went UNANSWERED. We also inquired about a couple other properties we were interested in...but all we got is SILENCE! And it's PATHETIC that this "Property Management Company" wouldn't give my husband and I a chance to rent knowing our DIRE situation facing being homeless... If someone can explain to me why ANY PM company would turn away a Veteran--who has a Federal position--and his family AWAY (even w/not such stellar credit), please PM me. We're still looking for a 2BR 3 months later, still facing homelessness AND that $40 we paid could've gone to our Special Needs toddler. This place IS a joke. The owner should be embarrassed.

NOT LEGAL!! Have come to my apartment twice with other people to look at problems with no notice given. Main office is unresponsive as well as other staff. 7 months to fix a BAD electrical problem, building cracking - been cited by city in less than a year. Management lets drunks rule the building, excessive noise above us since day 1 - nothing was done despite numerous complaints AND recordings. Vehicles being scratched in parking lots, managers who retaliate...... I learned NEVER to live in these buildings again unless you like being harassed and no one cares. I have experienced being sworn at in common areas, belongings stolen, tenants calling cops on us for things we did not do and manager told ME to get that proof from the police when it is WELL KNOWN police cannot do that ever!! Her reply was than nothing is done..... just a very ignorant letter sent to every tenant. The manager even sent me a confidential letter from a company that had nothing to do with me - when I asked why it was ignored. Harassment!!! Illegal wiring throughout the building, no vented stoves so fire alarms go off frequently only to be told by management to turn on a non vented fan that does not help at all -even maintenance man agreed they were wrong. Not vented outside (49 units). Too many problems and it is not a good place to live - unless you like constant drama with no end in sight.

My criteria for an apartment was that it needed to be ~ $1000 and needed to allow dogs. After searching for a long time, we found a small apartment near Woodford's Corner with hardwood floors and a gas stove. The location of the apartment was great for my commute. And I think we were excited to just move in together that we looked over a lot of the other things. I think this is less so a criticism of BellPort and more a criticism of the property, owned by some not great owners, and old, crudely maintained buildings. The windows were huge which I loved, but the air around the neighborhood was disgusting. There was so much soot that came in it made us question if our health was at risk. Neighbors who smoked indoors and outdoors in a non-smoking building was a huge pain and annoyingly, the whole apartment was slanted and was missing flooring here and there. The kitchen and bathroom were gross drop ceiling and we got flooding from upstairs, which was not due to a pipe issue as we called maintenance many times, but due to a tenant issue. All of this just illustrates that in general, we didn't have problems with the manager, but with the tenants around us and the property itself -- something that while BellPort maintains and manages, is ultimately at the discretion of the owners for updating things to code and be "liveable". BellPort has an online payment system that is a breeze, they have 24/7 maintenance which is pretty responsive, and even though we had to pay a monthly fee for the dog (required by the owner), they were generally pleasant to deal with. They did raise rates by $50 each year which was stupid for the place we had, and when we left, they had raised it $100 even though they told us we were getting no hike because of the pandemic. Well we got out of there and are happy we don't have to deal with eggs that slide to one side of the pan because you have to walk at an angle throughout the whole apartment. Unfortunately, we have also seen some pretty terrible apartments in way worse condition so it's hard to have an objective opinion on the quality. The worst part was the lack of control of the radiators. Loud and clunky, our apartment would get so dry that humidity would fall to the teen percentages. This cost us in acoustic instrument failures because of the dryness. Not worth staying in a place where you can't control the temp because they have it cranked up to 80F in the winter. At least there were no bugs.

Then when I moved out, couldn't get my security deposit back because of the locks have been changed, but they got all the keys though. Me arguing my point with significant amount of tenants around about my security deposit with maintenance, he tells me to leave the property. Just a straight up joke, so hopefully u don't need maintenance.
