Definitely wish the steel challenge area had some type of shade. I'm so glad we had sunscreen or we would have totally burned! Also heads up.... LOTS of wasps and bee's and I mean a lot! Like flying by and just hitting you in the face all the time, which is pretty distracting when shooting a gun. Not sure there's anything they can do to help control that issue (?) Because it's the outdoors. Overall nice experience except the prices were high. We most likely will not be returning due to that. We all brought our own guns, ammo, ear coverage and safety glasses. We didn't need any rentals or gear. So for 3 people just to rent 1 lane it was $130.00. That's a lot.

I like that they put a premium on safety, and there is a range master on duty at all times who calls "ceasefire" and then watches all guns on the benches to make sure no one is handling one while people are downrange checking their targets. Compared to most places around this area they are very affordable. They charge $27.50 and anyone else with you who is shooting is $5.00. With a free target. We decided to go ahead and buy an additional target for $3.00, making the grand total $37.38. They have a cute little bird door chime. I had to add that in my photos because I just loved it. I enjoy little personal touches. In the lobby they have snacks and a nice selection of cold drinks. They also have merch like T-shirts, hats, gun accessories. They also have local honey, cashews... homemade dog collars and leashes - good stuff! I bought myself a hat, love it! They have a nice high quality colorful detailed map of the property, which I thought was nice. I do better with visual rather than verbal directions. As for the lanes - they are very clean, they have fans for airflow, tables and chairs. Perfect place to hang out and bring a lunch. Best part they are completely covered with full shade! The RSO mentioned that they also spray for bee's and wasps so I didn't see any flying around, even with food out, That in itself was fantastic! In the men's bathroom they have a AK-47 toilet plunger. Thought that was pretty funny! Love the humor and personal touches! I also wanted to add that my personal gun for some reason wasn't ejecting the bullets each time I was firing. I went ahead and broke it down - put more oil on the spring .... Still didn't work. The RSO that drives around took a look at my gun and tried figuring it out. Unfortunately I need to take my new gun back to Scheels, it's not working properly and it has us all stumped... But that was cool that he took time out and he tried helping me. Again - great customer service!! Above and beyond. This is my new favorite place to shoot for sure! I definitely will be coming back, and spreading the news. I

The standout elements were the smooth primary-to-secondary weapon transitions, shooting on the move, and in-depth malfunction drills. We drilled immediate action ("push-pull-tilt-rack") and remedial action for more stubborn stoppages like failure to extract. The instructors ensured reps were clean, consistent, and stress-tested. The transitions to secondary weapons were fast-paced (after starting slow) and emphasized muscle memory, economy of motion, and situational awareness. Whether you're LE, military, or a prepared civilian, this course will push your fundamentals and build speed and confidence when your rifle goes down. Highly recommended for anyone looking to move beyond static range work and into functional, combative shooting.

LOL My first exposure to a pistol was roughly 10 years ago when I decided I needed one for self-defense. A friend of mine showed me the very basics at a local range, and I was actually fairly good (at the range) hitting a large male silhouette target paper. I went to practice sporadically but never felt quite confident with my gun. I'd heard of DSA/Marshal Luton through friends for years, but it wasn't until May of this year that I took my first class. What better than Intro for Ladies? Ya gotta start somewhere! That class was awesome, and I was shooting well enough at the larger targets that ACP1 was encouraged! I completed ACP1 this past weekend. Holy moly, talk about some intense (but completely do-able) training! We had a great deal of fun while learning very important lessons about proper draw techniques, pistol grip, sight alignment,, TRIGGER CONTROL, reloads... not to mention biomechanical efficiency, focus, and keeping calm on the worst day of your life (when you have to use your gun in self-defense). The instructors at DSA obviously care a great deal about what they do. They are serious as a heart attack about safety on range and I NEVER felt like I was in danger around them OR my fellow students in class. At the same time, during lessons, they also keep things fun and cut-up with all of us. I felt like instant family from my first Intro to Ladies class and it was no different in ACP1. I plan to keep training with Marshall and his crew for the foreseeable future, and I highly recommend them to everyone willing to invest in themselves like I have. In your real time of need, the police are not going to be able to help you faster than you can help YOURSELF. Do yourself and your family a favor.... Start training with DSA!
