Frontier charged $50.00 restocking fee on cancelling their service after being their customer for 7 years. Never heard of this before.

When I first ordered the service, the fiber line was run across three of my neighbors' yards without being buried. When I complained, they sent four separate crews, but each one claimed there was nothing they could do. It took a total of five months for Frontier to properly bury and install the line. During that time, I experienced several outages and service interruptions. Eventually, I moved and canceled my service. I was instructed to return my equipment, and was told a shipping code would be provided. However, I never received the code, and ended up holding onto the equipment. To my surprise, I was still auto-charged for it. After reaching out to several people, the issue was finally resolved, but rather than issuing a refund, they provided a credit to an account I no longer had. Now, I'm left waiting for a check to be sent to me. read more

I was in the process of moving, and since I work from home, I planned my entire move 2 weeks in advance around the date Frontier could install internet in my new apartment. I received the confirmation email of my appointment, and called 4 days before to confirm the appointment was still scheduled - all was going well. The day of the appointment, the installation time was between 1-5pm. At 2pm I contacted support just to confirm things were still going as scheduled, and they told me a technician was already around my area and would be calling me soon. They didn't call and I contacted support at 4pm to find out why there was a delay. The support agent then told me I didn't have an appointment, despite me receiving confirmation only hours earlier. Eventually they got their supervisor on the line, and the supervisor proceeded to blame me for the appointment falling through, despite it being a technical issue on their end. Thankfully Spectrum also services my area and was able to sign me up in 20 minutes, and the next day I had higher speeds for a lower price. The customer service is absolutely atrocious - I have worked in CS for 10+ years in all roles, and I couldn't even fathom doing the gaslighting and blaming they did to me. I have left multiple voicemails to the district manager about this negative experience, and of course they have not responded. Their app is also extremely slow, freezes all the time, and has very limited functionality. I strongly advice anyone considering Frontier for internet to seek alternatives beforehand. read more

If I could give them ZERO stars I would, what a scam. I lost my internet box in Helene and their response, after MULTIPLE HOUR PLUS long calls and MULTIPLE MANAGERS was to continue to bill me for service I did not have (I was not in a contract and asked them to cancel service multiple times), then charge me for the box damaged in the hurricane. After I was told by MULTIPLE managers I would not be charged. If you were the LAST company on earth I would not use you. read more

Completely screwed me over! The tech broke my water main line and now it has been 3 weeks since this happened and NO response. All they keep on doing now for the last 3 weeks is giving me the run around. Plus their service DID NOT WORK. It worked for 10 minutes then it stopped working. Tech support could not figure out why it stopped working. So in short, Frontier came over here and broke my water line which has cost me $300.00 to repair, I have no internet with them, and now they have been giving me the run around for 3 weeks! I HATE FRONTIER! THE WORST!! read more

absolutely terrible service. i reserved and appointment for saturday at 8-12. i confirmed it the day they called and that morning. at 12 i chatted to find out if a tech was coming and they made a claim that the tech called and i didnt answer so they moved my appointment to 5. the truth is no one called my phone at all. i chatted with a supervisor who claims they expedited the service call when in fact no one showed up till 5. so the service is awful but what can you expect from a telecommunications company. i look forward to awful service they are sure to provide in the future and finally be released from their terrible contracts. if you have other options, then take them. dont make the same mistake i made read more

This company needs to instruct its door-to-door salespeople that if there is a "No Solicitors" sign on the door, that means STAY THE HELL AWAY!!! In recent weeks, I have had at least two teams of salespeople come to my door, blatantly disregarding my sign. When I point it out to them, their first response is "well, we're not trying to sell you anything", and then they start some spiel about how they can help me with my internet needs. They are only hurting themselves, because I may have considered subscribing to Frontier, but because of this, I will never EVER patronize Frontier Communications. I am a daytime sleeper and I do not like to be woken up for this nonsense. read more

Liars and will try to suck you dry of money. don't trust them. They are sneaky in increasing the bill by $20 and then to return the equipment costs $50 for their pos router making the total 109.99 just for simpler internet. They said they were reducing my bill and then didn't so I found a way better deal. I miss when the company use to be Verizon. They also installed equipment in my front yard where I have plants. I called the city on them. They invaded my property read more

Absolutely. Horrible, I recently signed up for frontier because my apartment complex had no other services. I had been with spectrum for the last six years and had no problem. As moving in the apartment frontier had a big modal box in the middle of my bedroom wall, I called for a technician to come out and move it. And I couldn't understand the lady on the phone cause she barely spoke english so I hung up on her. We worked around the modem box and set a room up differently. Period a technician did show up weeks later, but I declined the service. I just got my last statement. And my autopion, and they charged me a $150 for a technician fee. That I never agreed to I called and made a complaint telling them to put the money back in my account and they refuse to do it. Then they tried to upsell me on my equipment. This is very bad business practice. If you can go with spectrum, do that read more

I lost service on Friday Aug. 16th around 7:30 pm, I think cable was cut. Anyway, it's now Monday, Aug. 19th and still not fixed. I work from home so internet service is essential. Needless to say, I will be switching providers, I'm done with Frontier Finally, Monday afternoon around 6 pm, service was restored. read more

OMG, I seriously didn't think there could be worse customer service than spectrum....well congratulations Frontier you are the winner!!! We ordered service, we decided we didn't want the phone service, just the internet.....we are on month 1 and phone call 5 to get it disconnected. My husband ordered extra equipment.....again, 1 month and 5 phone calls later, it's still not here.....we are getting charged though. Woo Hoo thank you!!! We call, get passed around and then finally land at IT from India. I'll let you all guess how that goes. Long story short, we still have phone service we don't want and equipment we don't have. So if you have a choice.....Frontier is NOT IT!! read more

I am so disappointed with Frontier and their customer service! They disconnected us without notifying us. We FINALLY had them reconnect, after 1 week of being disconnected. After 6 days of service, we are down due to optic technical issues. We were told it was "an area outage." Not true. Once again, we are out of internet for another weekend. My husband and I both require internet for our jobs. We have been with Frontier since they were Verizon. We are very frustrated and upset!! The technical support staff reads from a script and doesn't have a solution better than unplug your equipment and plug it back in to see if it works. read more

Called on Monday, installed Fiber Tuesday Morning, one glitch, fixed the next day. SUPER Fast internet, great customer service. Highly recommend! So happy they offer this service in our area! read more

Terrible service. I had better dial up service in 1996. Customer service and sales people promise u things and do NOT deliver any normal service at all. They have overbolled me and over billed me and overbilled me. Not by a little by alot! They finally seen it and gave me hundreds of dollars back in a credit and continue now to over bill me to take my money. My bill was supposed to be 34.95. I've been billed up to 192$ this month it was 97$ they do nothing to fix anything u can't even get thru to cancel its a 2 hour wait on the phone. I asked for a manager to call me a week ago. Noone has called emailed or txt me What about fixing the service so it actually works? read more

I don't normally share this kind of stuff but I felt the need because Frontier just screwed me out of $149.93. I ordered their Internet because I needed higher speed because like many other people I'm working from home and I have to access via a VPN. For the life of me frontier tells me that it doesn't work yet my cousin has it at his house and it works just fine. After speaking with three different people the only person that wanted to try to resolve it was obviously the person when I called to cancel. Who wanted to let me know that they don't prorate a month and I have to pay a $10 disconnect fee. So anybody looking to access via VPN stay away from frontier because they are not there to help you. I have had them for only 2 days. What a terrible way to do business shame on them. I appreciate the response and I appreciate you saying that it's nothing to do with you but I still have spectrum at my house and I can log onto my VPN using spectrum I cannot log onto my VPN using frontier so it is frontier. And I spoke with my IT consultant and they to said it's frontier. read more

Just had a sale person come to my door. I have a large no soliciting sticker on my door in clear view. The guy, early 20s, male, blonde hair, rings my doorbell. Since I get so many solicitors, I keep an Air Horn next to my door just for them. Grab the air horn and open the door. He begins his sales pitch about frontier and asking how much I pay for spectrum. I then lay the air horn down and it let's out a loud HONK for 5 seconds and I say "No soliciting. Read the door!" and close the door. I then headed out to work shortly after leaving my wife at home. Well, the guy comes back to the house 15 minutes later and rings the doorbell again! Now I have my wife calling me fearful of why this man showed back up to our house. This is harassment. I should call the police on this guy. He's lucky I'm not home right now. Your employees are SCARING MY FAMILY! read more

So disappointed as I was really looking forward to moving my service to Frontier/ Verizon Fios. However this was not to be. My original install was scheduled for July 5th. When no equipment or installers arrived, I spent an hour and a half on the telephone trying to sort it out. The four people I spoke with all apologized and couldn't understand why or how it had been canceled. An email arrived advising that I was to do a self install, although no equipment has ever been sent and it would be impossible for me to install FIOS! Another install was scheduled and assurances made that the installers would in fact come the following week July 10, and the equipment would be there prior to that date. When no equipment arrived and they did not show for a 2nd time today, I called in to cancel. 6 different people all politely apologized to me and tried to assure me that they would come on a third scheduled appointment on the 12th! Seriously? Imagine my surprise when I received a bill today from Frontier for services started on July 5 ( original scheduled install date) Dennis in the retention department finally was able to cancel my order, cancel my account, and request credit removing all charges. Yet it will be 7-10 days for approval, he tells me not to pay this account, and there shouldn't be a problem. I have an order confirmation # and it won't be a surprise to me if I have to follow up on this also. I have no confidence in Frontier after so many blunders and wasted time. My service was never even started, but they are billing me for it. Each time I have had to call in, it take several people and about an hour and a half transferring you between departments. Do you have time for this? I would hope this organization takes a real look at their lack of communication between departments and becomes more proactive than apologetic. read more

frontier is the most un professional service...that i am dealing with no voice service for area's that you need too speak with a human service...this is a damn shame you cannot get the service that you call in for...this company and everyone that i have dealt with un professional take you through too much...the service is terrible and when you try to speak with someone it's so sad....and it drain me out....just to get one question answered read more

They get zero stars! I'm without cable or internet until Saturday because they can't get to me until then. That's 3 days that Me or my wife can't work from home! I'm switching to Spectrum! I hope they go out of business! read more

I wish I could give this company zero stars! I thought it couldn't get any worse than my last internet provider, but boy was i wrong!!! I work from home and my internet went out during my work day and now I have to take off two days of work for them to maybe show up if there's a cancellation in their technician schedules AND I'm supposed to be charged a service fee over something that is 100% not my fault! this business model makes zero sense and as soon as I can secure another internet provider, I will be switching. read more

Cancelled my service because of cost, they are charging $50.00 to send the equipment back, they are calling it a restocking fee. Absurd, I will never, ever recommend this company. I have been with them for almost 4 years and this is the way they treat customers. read more

This company has the absolute worst customer service and follow through. I had an appointment today with a technician from between 1-5pm and here it is almost 8pm and not even a phone call, text message or email. This isn't the first time either, but it's definitely the last. The service now cancelled and I'll seek service elsewhere. read more

Customer service is the worst. You will wait on hold or for a call back trying to get your issue resolved. When you cancel your service you'll be charged a $50 restocking fee for your modem that you will have to mail back or take to a UPS store yourself. A Modem you purchased to begin with btw. I wanted to transfer my service to a new address when I moved but installation time was greater than one week. I called to see when a new customer can get Internet installed and it was within two days. It is clear that frontier prioritizes new customers over existing customers. When I called to cancel, because I could not wait a week for internet, I was told I should've asked to speak to the customer retention department to expedite my installation date. I shouldn't have to threaten to cancel to get good customer service. The phone tree takes 5 minutes to navigate just to get a live person on the phone and then you have to wait for someone to actually be available. it's frustrating and the internet is not worth the hassle of navigating a system that lacks in customer service and response at every turn. read more

worse service and customer service of any company i have used in over 40 years. they lie. service sucks ive waited 2 weeeks for them to fix my service and nothing. not one empty promuse fulfilled. buffering non stop. day after day no one shows as scheduled. this company is ran by worthless idiots. im canceling them tomorrow and good riddance never use this complany. they dont give a damn about anything except collecting $$$ for piss poor service. they can go to hell read more

I canceled my service Dec 7th, called 2 times to make sure there was no cancelation fee. Even ask the women on the phone when I canceled if my last payment on the 10th would be my last she said yes. I asked her what to do to return my equipment. She said take it to UPS with the QR code i was texted UPS would do the rest. I said is there a charge for the return she said "no". Oh but look a month later a $50 auto pay out of my account for equipment "Restocking and refurbishment fee" non refundable is what I was told. Customer service is terrible. Their robot answering system loops you without ever solving your problem. Their support team can do nothing more than submit a ticket. So if you rely on their service for work you can expect none. They will not come out to your house to resolve an issue for multiple days. If you rely on the internet do not go with Frontier. read more

Since installing the frontier fiber optic, we have had little luck in keeping the service usable. Three times technicians came out , fixed it, and the second team burying the cable has ruined and or destroyed the line. The product would be good if they had the customer service or tech support to maintain it. Another Saturday without internet , which i also use to work from home. read more

Frontier Communications fraudulently charges a $50.00 re-stocking fee... If you are a customer prepare to be ripped off! After service charges skyrocketed, I switched providers... When I called to close my Frontier account they not only wouldn't pro rate my final bill, they tried to charge me a $50.00 hidden, hardware re-stocking fee (because they only tell you about it when you cancel your subscription). Literally just started service with frontier this week. I asked for the self install kit since it would be here sooner than having a technician come out and I work from home so needed it done immediately. The kit comes with a QR code that you are supposed to scan for instructions. Well the link doesnt work and the page won't load. It also says to download the app and create an account and that will also help you with install directions which I did and now it says there is an error logging in. I called 3 different numbers for customer service all of which the automated system keeps sending you round and round in circles. I decided to click on the prompt for business accounts and someone finally answered (after 20 minutes of the automated machine) She then told me she had to transfer me to the residential department. Ive now been on hold for 2 hours and 13 minutes as I type this and still haven't spoken to anyone. This is a terrible start to their service and I'm already debating on cancelling it. read more

Wow....1 star because It wont let me do less...DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY... It all started over the reward credit I was promised. Even got a letter in the mail that I was eligible. Claimed it on 12/6/21, expecting it, per frontier, in 2 to 4 weeks. Well they did not like my complaint, and I was told it was on back order. Mind you I have been a loyal and good customer promptly paying my bill on auto-pay. I in turn informed them that if I did not get said credit in a months time that frontier would start incurring penalties. Low and behold the card came in the mail today. I opened it and inspected it. Then I tried to activate it....well after multiple attempts to activate said reward I called the number on the card. The woman on the other end told me that the card had been reported stolen or lost, and that I had to wait for a replacement. I kindly asked her to have frontier come get their equipment and then called spectrum! Frontier I dare you to come after the early termination fee. This disabled vet has nothing better to do all day than to frustrate the hell out of your company. read more

This specific branch is ok. I've come here twice to replace broken remote controls and the service was pleasant. Most of this review will be about the overall experience with the company, especially in comparison to Verizon. We've had FIOS for almost 11 years. It was initially under Verizon from 2008 and then Frontier in 2016. We have fios internet, TV, and landline phone. However, while Verizon is a nickel and dime company, they at least had better service for FIOS (their Wireless stores/employees can rot in Malebolgia's 8th level of Hades with Billy Kincaid however) Service and other areas have declined in these three years. Cons Compared to Verizon, they have had more outages. Many times when we lose service, all three (TV/phone/internet) are gone and it takes 2-3 days to come back. Even a brief power outage of less than a minute would cause this. They almost never have a tech come in 1-2 days, more like 3-5 if you're lucky. Like Verizon , they have contracts where you get a lower rate. However, their contracts are only valid for 1 year as opposed to two. Also, they rarely give any notification that your contract is expiring and go straight to charging a much higher fee unless you call. Also, the terms of the contract and prices depends on who you get on the. One person said we couldn't get our old price back with a new contract . I called a week later and one said you can. Its a small thing but Verizon used to offer gift cards of between 50-200 when you signed a new contract. Frontier never does this despite asking. We have the basic TV package and the channels included seem to change much more frequently than Verizon. Also, Cartoon Network is no longer on the basc package which is lame considering most of the other "basic cable" channels are still there. Despite changing landline phones and having lins tested, we still have random staticky calls in the US and overseas despite a digital connection. Pros: The service is still relatively stable. The technicians are very nice, efficient, and explain things when they come out. While Frontier does have problems, we are still sticking with them due to the product, but if their fees get too high we may have to change. read more

This location is a small store that offers customer service, billing and technical help. Unfortunately, it is the closest location to me. When it comes to convenience, Spectrum is ahead of the game. This location offers ample parking along the bustling Dale Mabry Hwy, next door to PDQ. The store is clean yet lackluster. The hours are convenient if you can stop by during the week in the middle of the day. I have never waited more than five minutes to meet with a representative. The staff has been friendly and helpful. Their computer systems do not print receipts so they ask customers to photograph the computer screen. I'm always willing to drive here to avoid the cost of the technician stopping by. Worth the trip if you need to return unused or malfunctioning equipment. read more

Just adding my 1 star review to everyone else's. 5 days without internet and complete no show no communication from the tech we had scheduled 1-5. I called at 4:53 and was told to call back after 5 because there was nothing he could do until the tech "officially"' missed the appointment. The real reason is the phones transfer at 5 pm to another off shore call center. read more

Same issue again. Called in last night because I was only getting 125mps when I am playing for 1gig. After they did something on their side I was only getting 5mps. Then they did something else and I lost all internet connection. I repeatedly asked for a senior tech as I went through this before he declined for two hours.. after two hours, he said a tech would call me back at 9:58. I received a call when I answered it they hung up. Note that they close at 10, so I'm sure he did not want to get on a call when he's getting off. The next morning I called again and the girl said all the senior techs were busy. Put me on hold for 45 minutes and then hung up on me just a warning for anyone looking at them. You will spend more time on the phone than you will on the Internet. Also, they said it would be two days before somebody could get out to my house. I work from home and cannot be without Internet for two days. You cannot talk to anybody within the states. read more
