Close to St. Louis, but you would never know it in this quiet setting. Overall a joyful and restful stay -- we can't wait to go back.

This home is absolutely lovely. It is homey, yet still feels like you are at a real lodging location (if that makes any sense). The rooms are spacious, and each have a bathroom that was extremely clean. Our room had our own Keurig, which was a very nice touch. But going downstairs there was also a dining area stocked with coffee, tea, hot chocolate, break cereals, pastries, muffins, and more! I was so impressed with all they they offer to their guest. Although we didn't need any of this, they even had a little hutch by our room upstairs that had extra toiletries like deodorant, razors, toothpaste, etc. How sweet is that?! We will never stay at a hotel in Washington again! This was such a nice place, and we can't wait to come back in the future.

We rented the 5 Bedroom/5 Bath luxurious and spacious home July 7/27-8/2/2021, and it was perfect! The home was 4 miles from the Wedding venue, Sunflower Hill Farm, which made it convenient and easy to move between the Wedding activities and our rental property. I initially booked this property with Lauren in 2019, for May 30th 2020, but because of covid the Wedding was moved to July 11, 2020, and finally a year later - July 31, 2021. Lauren and then Jessica, both with Rockwood Management in St. Louis, confirmed our reservation, then rebooked, and reconfirmed for the eventual date that finally worked. They both were responsive, helpful, and did not hesitate to move, adjust, and confirm the property bookings during these challenging times. I so appreciated their positive help and guidance - and was relieved to know that our lodging was confirmed. I had family flying in from Hawai'i, Texas, and we live in Florida, so lodging was very important to secure. I had fresh flower leis mailed from Hawai'i for the Rehearsal dinner, and we received them at our home rental and had a lot of space to store and keep them until needed. The home was large, well - furnished, and convenient to Wine country Wedding venues, the Katy trail, Wineries, and some of the historical nearby towns. We were thrilled to have such a beautiful home to rest, relax, and lounge at .........had a family dinner Thursday night.......it was exactly the space and location we needed. The girls from Rockwood Management are Awesome! Most of us had early flights on Monday, 8/2, our check-out day.....except for our our son and his new bride, who had a late 5pm flight back to San Francisco. I emailed Jessica to ask if there was any way the two of them could stay a few extra hours.....till 2pm - and she confirmed with the cleaners that it would be fine; what a relief and some extra quiet time and rest for them after the Spectacular but Exhausting Wedding week/end. As it turned out - their 5pm flight ended up getting cancelled, and they fortunately were able to catch the last available flight out that evening - so they were especially grateful for the extra hours in the Beautiful Church Rd. home. If you are looking for the perfect gathering place, get away, while visiting Augusta or Defiance MO.............this is your place! Sincerely - Karen Gabbert and Family

The on site store is nicely stocked and very clean. The pool area looked clean and well maintained although we didn't use it. The park is very shaded and well laid out even though the sites are very close together. The shower house by the playground was clean if very spare in amenities. Good water pressure and very hot water. The multi spray shower head worked well. However- the shower curtains in the men's shower are not wide enough to keep the water from the shower from splashing all the way to the doorway and soaking your dry towel and clothes on the provided bench. One of them was a full 5 inches from the wall. There is no shelf in the shower area. The main problem we had was the website clearly shows cooking grates at the sites. So $75 in meat was brought to grill and they only had a fire pit at the site. So s trip to another town and $65 for a charcoal grill and dinner finally happened 3 hours late.

Saturday evening there was a band playing and a food truck there another couple had came over to our campsite and asked if we wanted to play cornhole we always bring it with us and instead of doing that we all ended up talking well after the band stopped they were breaking down and my husband turned our stereo on. The four of us are in our 60s, we aren't young kids that play music really super loud. There was no on either side of us. Nor behind us it was a big open field. The manager Loretta over to our site guns a blazing telling us that we to turn the music down that she was getting a bunch of complaints actually the band was still breaking down and the food truck just left and we were having a conversation so there's no way that the music was loud. My husband jokingly said well as soon as you leave, we'll just turn it back up lol even meeting this couple for the very first time they knew that he was joking as I did also. she told us that we should pack up and leave right then and there, knowing that we were drinking alcoholic beverages all day. Who does that kind of stuff nobody I know. I would never allow anybody to leave my home after drinking all day. She tried to come and talk to me the next day, but she has a hair up her ass for my husband. She always seems to have something to bitch about and we spend a lot of money there. we will never go back there. Also, the place is a mess. There was an inch and a half of water in the bathrooms by the pool. The pool was so scummy and disgusting. And if she thinks we were making loud noise, try going to playground at 11:30 at night when there's a bunch of kids running around and screaming and playing until their parents decide to go and tell to come in. 1130 at night kids at a playground. Yet she has to yell at 60 year old people for having a radio on please. Loretta is disrespectful talks bad about her other employees which she can't keep anybody there they quit and they talk bad about her too. We will never go there again, and I would never advise my worst enemy to go there. We were also told by an employee that 90 percent of the people that are there live there! And you can tell... rusted out campers, clothes hanging outside, toys in their yards. what a dump!
