Chris charged 600 plus 100 fee for being so last minute which I found totally reasonable. This year I didn't have to file a return because I had no earnings other than a bit of interest from a bank account and no deductions but thought it a good idea which she agreed with. Chris filed and sent me the bill 4 days later for 500. She already had all my information in her system. If she had done 80% of the work as she had done last time I'd be fine, but as she said there was no return needed and I would've never agreed to 500 for something I could've done on my own with a 1044 or just not filed for that much. I paid the invoice as it was my responsibility after failing to ask her first how much it would be. Unfortunately she lost me as a client and I'm writing my first yelp review. I feel duped.

I have complicated crypto taxes and did my best to communicate this from the start, including a 45-minute call with Steve specifically about my crypto taxes before my 2024 return was filed. I made clear that the documents I sent, including a Schedule 1, were generated by my crypto tax software. In 2025, I discovered that the Schedule 1 income I provided had been left off my 2024 return. Steve never asked me what it was, never requested supporting documentation, and never told me he was omitting it. He simply left it off silently. When I raised it, he claimed he hadn't known I had complicated crypto taxes, which I believe is false and I have messages with the firm showing we discussed it. He also declined to prepare my 2025 return due to the crypto complexity, leaving me to find a new preparer on short notice. When I requested a refund of my 2024 prep fee, he refused unless I provided evidence of the income's source. While compiling that, I found that a mistake in my tax software had overstated the figure, and that the corrected amount was lower. I decided the refund wasn't worth pursuing, and I'm having the amendment handled by another firm. Steve was right to question the number. But the professional response was to ask for documentation before filing, not to silently drop income off a return without a word to the client. At no point did he acknowledge any mistake or take any accountability. In my opinion, that handling was not what a client should expect from a tax preparer, and based on my experience, I can't recommend them.

They are not the least expensive accounting firm in the area, but they more than earn back their fee in the time, money and stress that they save you. Fran is very meticulous and attentive to detail while still being very warm and easy to work with, and their entire process is laid out for you in an electronic organizer that they provide, so that you know if you're missing any documents that they need to prepare your return. Additionally, if you have a corporation, I highly recommend having Coet2 prepare your quarterly payroll and year-end corporate taxes. These seem like a small thing, but accounting is my most hated business task and payroll taxes used to cause me a lot of problems. Coet2's staffer Barb Arnold now handles everything for me and has completely streamlined my payroll process at a very reasonable cost. In addition, no one at Coet2 ever pushes the additional services that they offer, but they are there if you need them (QuickBooks classes, financial planning, etc.). Highly recommended, and I have dealt with 4 accountants over the life of my business, so I have a good basis to offer a recommendation.
