It's been over a year but I was able to get a CNA license from Ann Rose. For me it was an update…read moresince I let my license lapse. Also I was renewing as a personal caregiver and not working in a hospital or care center. I am so grateful for all of the support and encouragement. Things had changed since I last had my license. It was so much easier for me to get in a place with a small group, the one on one attention I received. Also the availability of classes I was able to choose from worked with my family. All of the staff were so helpful and kind. I truly appreciate that and I have recommended them to many different people. Others in my class had already secured a position prior to completing their training. I was able to start in my position days after my testing was complete. Not only do I have my CNA but I am also CPR CERTIFIED.

As a piano and…read morevoice student, I've seen toddlers as young as 18 months old playing in a group that introduces toddlers to music, and adults 40 to 88 years young singing in a Broadway ensemble group or playing in the jazz band. The faculty is engaging and fun and the community feels like a second family. I can't recommend CMA enough!

What a miserable experience and we didn't even get as far as the music lesson! This business is so…read morebadly run that it's mind boggling. First of all, I called to enquire about music lessons 4 months ago and finally, they called me back one month ago! I believed that I had set up 3 trial voice lessons for my daughter starting today, dates booked in, teacher info received - they took my credit card details, the dates and times were confirmed over the phone, and I put them in my diary. Today we showed up and there was no lesson - the answer? 'Oh, I'm sorry, we're very backed up, you're one of the new people aren't you'. 'Oh, I see you here in the folder that I haven't got to you yet (4 weeks later) and we've given your slot away to someone else'. This is on top of the enquiry I made about cello lessons for my son. That enquiry took 3 weeks to respond to. They left me a voicemail, I got back immediately and left them a voicemail then....nothing, another 2 weeks to get a response from that call. After a couple of mumbled apologies today, I left furious having taken time out of my day to get my daughter there on time for something that was confirmed one month ago. This business doesn't deserve any success, if you can even call it a business.

Everyone at RefactorU was great - the instructors, administrators, community engagement planners -…read morethey are all wonderful. RefactorU throws a lot of information at you in a short time, but in a really well-structured way so that you actually have time to learn it all, and learn it all well. I'm astounded by how much I learned, and how dedicated the instructors were to supporting our experience: from TAs who come in on the weekends to offer help, to being responsive when not-totally-kosher sexist jokes were being made in class (hey, it's the tech industry, right?). They organize events with employers and recruiters to help you make connections. They know they only succeed when their students succeed, and they are all about that. My only complaint is that, being as successful as they are, they have been growing a lot, and for my personal learning style, our class was too big. We had 33 people, so there were quite a few of us sharing the instructors' attention. It was also often a very loud work environment (33 people in one room), which for me usually meant having to choose between leaving and going somewhere quiet to get work done, or being in a room where I have access to help from instructors and classmates. Overall, I'm glad I went and really impressed by what they accomplish as a school. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.
