The sweet butter with a relief of a milk maid and cow on it - divine! I have never had fresher!

I cannot say enough about how fabulous this shop is or what a wonderful experience I had there! I rushed over there late Saturday evening expecting it to be closed on Sunday as so many other shops are in Paris. I arrived about 20 minutes before closing and the store was bustling. Just as I arrived one of the two gentlemen who were working hung up his work jacket and bid adieu to his co-worker.I figured this would not bode well for me as my French is far from fluent and I was hoping to get a few specific items. When it was my turn to be helped I was pleasantly surprised to find that Denis, the gent at the cheese shop spoke very good English and was quite charming. Even though it was late and other people were coming in to shop he never rushed me. I was buying a fair amount of cheese I wanted to travel with and my Mom wanted some as well so he was making a double order of everything. When Denis found out the cheese would be traveling, he offered to vacuum sealed our cheese selections. He even gave me a block of their house made sweet butter on my way out - gratis, perhaps as a small thank you for our large purchase. I also found out that they would be open the following day - score! I returned Sunday to purchase a gift selection of cheeses and a nice bottle of cider for our airbnb hostess as a thank you gift and to take some pictures of the shop as I did not have time in my hurry the day before. I also made an additional purchase of a thermal bags with their logo on it partially to keep our cheese cold and also as a practical souvenir. Also, for those of you who know or care about such distinctions this is a true BOF shop (buerre, oufs, fromage) with some house brand (made for their stores especially I believe there may be a couple more locations) selections, crackers and lovely ciders as well as their vast selection of cheese. Their also carry a few other dairy items such as milk and yogurt. If you are a person who cares about food or just likes best I would say do not miss a visit to this fine fromagerie.

Very helpful staff that helped us choose our cheese since we really know a little about what the specialties are.

I purchased some delicious saucisson & asked nicely to have it sliced since I would not be able to cut it in the hotel room. I was very grateful for that, & later purchased a baguette to take everything back to the hotel. Stopped my the grocery store & also bought some white wine. So far, I'm enjoying this visit in France & definitely will need to visit again. A lot to see and not enough time!!

I'd bookmarked Barthélémy when looking for new places to enjoy for a recent solo visit of mine then coincidentally my bff recommended them to me a few days later mentioning Ina Garten loves this cheese store, so I knew it was a must. When you walk through the door you will feel what it feels and smells like to have entered cheese heaven! You will say Holy Cow!!! pun intended but it's not all cow, it's goat, and sheep and everything your little cheese loving heart could desire. This is the most gorgeous cheese store. I have my favorites here in the states... Murray's, Cowgirl Creamery, Rogue Creamery and many others but I was ready to dive right in to the delish French options here. I was greeted immediately and provided with superb service. I had no one particular thing in mind I simply wanted to purchase a whole bunch of everything. We spent a good amount of time going over many of the cheeses and I selected several to vacuum seal to bring home in addition to a couple to enjoy during my stay in France. If you are a cheese lover, you must visit Barthélémy.

They offered several samples for us to try prior to making our purchases, which we appreciated a ton. We also appreciated that the cheeses spanned all kinds of budgets; we got a budget-friendly soft cheese and splurged a little bit on an aged one. Definitely recommend stopping by!
