Another amazing cheese shop of Quebec. This one is located in The Beauce region which for a non Quebecker is the beautiful rolling hill area south of QC. It's a very pastoral region and the locals are very proud to be from La Beauce. The villages in the area encompass St Marie du Beauce, St Victor, Beauceville and many more small communities with long names.
This cheese shop here is known to be almost one hundred years old. The cheese shop started in 1921. Holy Christmas this is an amazing feat. In the boutique many cheeses are available, Quebec cider, jams and jellies and of course maple products plus cakes and desserts. On my visit I picked up a bag of fresh cheese curds some maple sponge toffee and maple butter. The cheese was squeaky, less salty than other places and downright tummy delicious. For me I love visiting and discovering many of the fine cheese shops we have in Quebec. From having lived in Ontario and Western Canada the cheese shops in QC are a real provincial treat. Plus no other province has as many local artisan cheese shops. It can be taken for granted the longer you live in Quebec but it's really an example of the Québécois heritage and history passed down. We love cheese here and this is another fine place to come get some tasty plus creamy treats. read more
