She pressed on my pelvis and spine and made the pain go or when I'd get frozen she's put me on a ball or tie up this ancient ways rope thing Bryan was like not any help lol he didn't even have to be there. Take care of the mom we didn't just get a new baby we got a New MOM. She was so helpful before the birth during the birth and after the birth and she was helpful to Bryan and she massaged me and used essential oils and she just does everything for you. she's like the silent helper person she helped me with baby wrapping and nursing and she was an angel. at first he was like what is a doula and why is it costing money and then he was just like she is priceless she was indispensable. She's awesome and kind she's so soft and nurturing but a friend vibe. I mean she even went out after the birth and she brought me a pizza. I was so hungry. she'll just do whatever it takes and you never have to feel bad about calling her like even if you're just thinking you're having contractions, before going to the birth center or hospital you can just call her and she'll walk with you up hills and help you open up your pelvis talk you through it help you from the second you start to open up. read more

In having our first child my wife and I knew we faced a difficult challenge ahead. A neighbor suggested that we get a doula. At first we didn't even know what's doula was let alone that we would even want one. Yet, after doing some research on the benefits of having a doula, namely a safe natural birth, we checked around. We interviewed a few doulas, and even went to a doula meet and but none had the warmth and caring of Holly. She made our birthing experience a truly smooth and joyous event. My wife and I couldn't have done it without her. My mom, who initially balked at the idea of a doula, agreed that a doula made the experience a thousand times easier for all. If you are having a child then definitely hire holly! Oh and her rates were 200-300 less than other doulas! read more

Holly was extremely helpful and comforting to have at my birth! I was aiming for a natural birth (just had my first baby) and knew I wanted a doula to support both my husband and me during the labor. My birth experience was exactly as I had hoped for and Holly made a huge difference! I would recommend her to anyone looking for support with a natural birth! read more

My husband and I felt like we clicked with Holly from the get go. We are super pleased we hired Holly as our Doula. She provided us with the right amount of support. Our birth experience was very much enhanced by her presence without being dominated by it. read more

Holly was absolutely amazing. Comforting, joyful, knowledgeable, and kind. She really put my husband at ease. And, as a bonus, she smells good (which to a pregnant lady is important)! read more

History
Established in 2013.
As your doula, I cater the care I provide to the needs of you and your partner. I support your values and goals in a way that complements your unique family dynamics. I work to encourage strong lines of communication with you and your provider, and I encourage you to make informed decisions regarding your care. I ultimately believe you know what's best for your body and your baby, and I respect your birth and parenting choices. There is a famous quote from Ina May Gaskin, "If a woman doesn't look like a goddess in labor, then someone isn't treating her right." While I don't think many expecting moms identify with the goddess analogy; I strive to make sure my clients feel safe, supported, and pampered in a way that only the an experienced doula could intuitively and professionally provide. It is true, a woman never forgets how she was treated during her birth and my goal is for you to remember your birth as the empowering, transformative, and beautifully supported day.
Meet the Business Owner: Holly R.
My journey to birth work started when my first baby was born unexpectedly via c-section at 35 weeks. My second birth experience was also in a hospital setting, but this time as an unmedicated VBAC. It was through both of these experiences (and the struggles along the way) that my passion for all things birth-related was sparked. With encouragement from my friends and family, I took the giant leap to change my career and become a birth professional. I take pride in being mentored by my own doula and was privileged to have been trained and educated by Penny Simkin at Bastyr University. I strongly value continuing education and I am always reviewing the latest in evidence-based maternity and postpartum information and research. When I'm not busy with work (increasingly rare these days), I stay very busy being a mom!
