I got my hair cut by the owner. I didn't know she was the owner when I left the place, so I tipped…read moreher. Being jobless at the time, I didn't give that tip lightly. But I do believe in tipping. She was friendly enough, but it wasn't until later that I got a good look at what she had done to my hair (see below). The haircut itself was a birthday gift from my mom. ANYWAY, she accepted the tip, which, imo, borders on unethical for an owner. She also told me to call her the next day if I had any questions. Well, I did have questions. Even in the chair, I asked her to razor cut my hair (like my last stylist did, in another state). She said she could accomplish the same thing without the razor. I'm no expert, so I let her do her thing. It really looks bad. It doesn't lay right. I can't do anything with it. It's almost mullet-like, which is embarrassing to admit (and to show in public). Plus, one side was about an inch shorter than the other!! When I called her the next day and asked if someone else could try to rescue the disaster she'd created (I didn't use those words), she said no one else could help me. Also, SHE couldn't help me because she was going on vacation for at least a week. Cut to four days later, when I called again at my mom's insistence. I asked for the owner, who turned out to be the same woman who had cut my hair and happily accepted my tip. I wish I had never tipped her - evil woman. Final straw: she was IN the salon. She was NOT on vacation. So, (1) she couldn't do what I asked her to do with my hair, even though the EXACT SAME thing had been done to it six months earlier by a brand-new stylist in another state. (2) She accepted a tip and didn't tell me she was the owner of the salon. Then, (3) when I called back to ask for it to be fixed, she told me she couldn't do it because she was out of town (a lie) and no one else in the salon could do it either. Do NOT go to this place unless you want to be treated shabbily. I will never darken her doorstep again.

I don't live in Aberdeen any more, but I make a point to make an appointment when I'm in town because it is by far the best hair cut and the best price I've come across. A prime example of their outstanding customer service would be the many times over the years Rhonda helped me get back my natural brunette, since my hair kept clinging to the red in most dyes. She had me come back in when it started fading back to red the next week and wouldn't hear of charging me for the fix up, even though the fade was through no fault of her own. I don't normally do yelp reviews, but after seeing a one star review had gone up, I had to share my overwhelmingly positive experience with this salon. This is a place that will absolutely go above and beyond to make their customers feel great.

My husband has officially been converted too--no more of those drop-in haircuts for him! Her salon is beautiful (always decorated to a T) , spotless, and so welcoming, with coffee, treats, and the best atmosphere. She's incredibly talented, educated on the newest styles and products, and somehow manages to get us all in, even with our busy family schedule. My time in the chair always goes by too fast because we have so much to catch up on! I get to visit with a life long friend who also happens to make my hair look amazing. We've trusted her for two decades, and I honestly wouldn't go anywhere else.
