So it ended up being more than a light meal but you'll forgive me. Dinner here won't be until 9:30pm! A girl had to eat! It was quick service. If you've been here, lunches take over an hour and I just didn't have the time. I also ordered a large lemon beer with my meal (do you see how I failed, epically, on my light meal?). Luckily I didn't have space for ice cream...even though a small one with caramel would set me right. Ah diet be damned!

This is a tiny little place that I found quite by accident and I'm wondering why isn't there a line around the block. Now in all fairness the other two Pizza's were very good, but the walnut, red onion and blue cheese pizza far exceeds five stars.

To justify removing the two stars: First, no one gave me any utensils: spoon, fork, knife. Unless someone thinks I should eat my dessert with my fingers. I'm not sure how or why that happened. Then, I got a slice of pie, but call me weird, because when I order pie, is there supposed to be an odd yellow syrup of goo squirted on top of it. (I assume that it's either caramel sauce or toffee or butterscotch of some sort.) That's right. So bravely, I go on to try said goo--and it is ungodly sweet. Eyeballs maxed out to size, I tried to eat more. Third, I go to use the bathroom, and there is no more toilet tissue left. No to mention that the bathroom is in badly in need to attention to start with. I understand it's a touristy place so more people use it, but it was getting to the point that people threw paper towels on the floor instead of the trash can, since the trash receptacle was overflowing. I should mention the last disappointment was when the menu said that the jukeboxes work without money, and I approach both of the jukeboxes and none of them work--I'm told that they are not in order in Spanish by a bunch of teenagers who have tried. Of course, I was told this after I deposited 10 cent euros into said non-working machine. Oh for the love of fast food!

It's always awesome to travel and stumble upon a random fish and chips spot that can hold its own against some of the best in the world. I'm a huge fan of this dish, and this place is a top contender and that's coming from someone who's had England's highest-rated spots, including Golden Chippy. You can choose between cod and haddock. They were out of haddock, but that's fine, I prefer cod anyway. The batter was light, crispy, and flaky, and the cod itself was fresh with a nice snap to it. Most places either get the batter right and mess up the fish, or vice versa. FISHY FISHY nailed both. I was seriously impressed. I'm sold! And let's be real you can't have fish and chips without a solid tartar sauce. Their house-made tartar sauce just throws everything into elite status. This place could easily be a top contender for the #1 spot in England. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
