I want to express my gratitude for the wonderful experience we had during our Mother's Day cruise…read more As visitors from the Hudson Valley, we were unfamiliar with the area and found Mystic quite crowded. We initially struggled to find parking, which was a significant concern as my wife has disabilities. We were worried we would miss our departure, but the gentleman in your office was exceptionally helpful and kind. He assured us that he had coordinated with the captain to hold the boat, and he even ran out of the office to personally guide us to the dock. The captain and crew on the schooner were professional, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the sights around Mystic Harbor. I was a beautiful sunny day and, despite the wind picking up, it was a very relaxing, smooth and enjoyable sail. Thank you for your outstanding professionalism and for making sure we didn't miss the boat. We had a great time and highly recommend your cruises.

The boat has different seating options - wooden benches and cushion seats without backrests. We reserved two of the cushioned areas and showed up ready to check in on time (they ask you to show up about 30 minutes before boarding to check in). You board at the dock just next to the bridge in Mystic, so it couldn't be more convenient if you're exploring Mystic for a day or a weekend. The Argia allows you to bring alcohol (wine and beer) on board (although they ask that you not bring large coolers - there's no room for them), so we brought a couple of bottles of wine bought from the great wine shop down the street. The sail is partly narrated. Our sail was two hours long, and the staff narrated for some of the sailing time - pointing out historic and interesting sites along the sail (islands with an interesting history, homes with interesting architecture, etc.). Between the gorgeous scenery, some narration of fun and interesting facts about Mystic and its harbor, the great wine we'd brought aboard, and great company - it was the perfect way to spend a couple of hours in Mystic. What a beautiful way to enjoy Mystic and its harbor!

I have been on the Milford Pedal Cruise before and both are just a super fun way to get together with a group of 22 of your friends and have a great time on the water. Here are some things you'll need to know: The Pier Pressure II is Stamford's only pedal powered party boat operated on Stamford Harbor and goes out into the Long Island Sound. It's a 90 minute excursion that is perfect for corporate outings and team building, as well as office, bachelorette, family, friends and birthday celebrations. It fits 26 guests at 12 pedaling stations & benches, a bar table, coolers, has a bluetooth stereo and also a bathroom. Private Cruises begin at $749 and Public Cruises are sold by the ticket, starting at $55, and seat up to 22 passengers. Guests do tip the Captain & First Mate since they rely on it to pay their bills. Suggested tip for Private Cruises: $200-300 and $10-15 per person for Group Cruises. BYOB! Drinks - beer, wine, hard seltzers, ciders, canned cocktails and the like are suggested. Please avoid bringing glass on board. Only guests 21 years of age or older may bring or consume alcoholic beverages. Don't forget some water. Bring Ice - they do not provide ice :) Bing Snacks - keep in mind it can be breezy on the boat. Cups, utensils, plates, napkins, etc - we do not carry these onboard, so please bring what you need and consider bringing reusable items to help the environment and reduce trash. Depending on the time of year and weather, don't forget your sunscreen, sunglasses, rain poncho or jacket. It does get cooler on the water- so bring a hoodie :) Lastly- free parking can be found at the Harbor Point Garage at 855 Pacific Street, Stamford, CT 06902 located between Washington Blvd & Harbor Point Rd. Other parking options include street parking and the lot at 200 Washington Blvd. They highly encourage using Uber, Lyft & taxi services, as well as the Metro North Train, a 15 min walk to the meeting location. Their waiting area is located at 1 Harbor Point Rd, Stamford, CT 06902 down the steps and under the blue canopy. You'll see Pedal Cruise signs along the way. Staff will let you and your group down to the boat through a locked gate when the boat is ready for boarding. Please do not enter through the gate without a Pedal Cruise staff member since it is private property. Cheers and have the best time! We sure did!

After a brief safety video and briefing, we were given our rafting kit, loaded on buses, and brought up river to the raft slip, this was about a 30 minute trip north west. The raft trip ended across the street from where we started. An easy exit, we got out of the boat, returned our kit, and walked across the road to watch the video, and purchase souvenir photographs. We had an excellent day on the river during our 10 mile trip. My 14 year old son and I did the Zoar Gap trip which took most of the day with an hour break for lunch at a nice riverside picnic ground in the mountains. You can bring your own food( appropriately packaged) if you would like. They store it in a water proof bag and stow it on the raft. If there is even a hint of rain or you just don't want to get completely soaked, bring a three season jacket or rain coat. Also, you will be out on a river dress accordingly. NO open toed shoes! This includes flip- flops. You can rent shoes and wetsuits. If you have any medical issues like allergic reactions etc. I would either bring your own Epi Pen kit and medications with you, and stow it in the water proof bag, or possibly think about finding a less isolated outdoor experience. Be warned, white water rafting can be physically strenuous. The only issue I had was the lunch that was provided. Not that it was bad, it was well packaged and pre-made( not to order). If you have food allergies or don't like mayonnaise bring your own food. Zoar Outdoor is not really able to accommodate food allergies or pickey eaters. Mayonnaise was on every sandwich. I don't know why. They could just have provided packets on the side but they there were none available. My son hates mayonnaise so he only ate the chips, pickle, and cookies provided which got him through the remainder of the trip but not exactly a great lunch. One man we were with had a dairy allergy. I'm pretty sure he was not able to eat any of the food. I'm not sure why he didn't make sure a head of time if he could eat the food.I wish I had known the sandwiches had mayonnaise on them a head of time. Not a huge deal, we got over it. The trip was super fun! I would love to go again and will definitely choose Zoar Outdoor again.

On Monday I left my phone on the 918 Hartford to Willimantic bus. I called and left a message because you can't talk to a human...especially at a company such as PP Bus Lines because they know they have horrible customer service and are tired of people bitching at them. 6 phone calls and three emails later over the course of the last 5 days and they don't even have the decency to return and or acknowledge I've called or emailed. Not surprised at all they have a 1.9 out of 10 score and I hope my review brings it down to 1.8. CT Transit should consider finding another company that maybe would treat there riders better.

Our first stop was at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and we were left to explore this fabulous museum at our own pace, I enjoyed that because there were certain eras of music I liked better than others. The next day our tour guide gave us the lay of the land and we got to spend the whole day at Greenfield Village and the Henry Ford Museum, it was great because again, we had the flexibility to see things at our own pace. After that, we headed to Mackinac Island - for me the highlight of the trip. The boat ride went smoothly so did the horse and carriage rides around the island and lunch at the Grand Hotel was amazing. Again, the best thing about this portion of the trip was that after our horse and carriage guided tour and lunch at the Grand Hotel, we had plenty of time to go shopping for fudge. The surprise of the trip was Frankenmuth known as America's Little Bavaria - what fun we had there in a German-styled restaurant. The cool part of this trip was seeing Niagra Falls from the Canadian side. I liked this trip because it included a wide variety of top attractions and left me with enough free time to explore on my own. Our tour leader was knowledgeable, told us to order white fish on Mac Island, and was very familiar with all the attractions. She even brought the movie, Somewhere in Time to show on one of the long motorcoach rides to catch the bus to Mackinac Island. The food was good, the best was the buffet at the grand hotel, family style in Frankenmuth was also a treat - the chicken was delicious. If you are looking to see a variety of attractions with enough time left over to explore on your own, this trip packs a lot of bang for the buck. Date of experience: June 14, 2024

Original review 5/9/2026: Finishing up a tour of Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and Taos. Our tour was substandard...... the biggest issue was the accommodations. The hotel in the itinerary was the La Fonda. We ended up at El Sendero. La Fonda has a 4.6 rating. El Sendero has a 3.3. They are in no way comparable. The El Sendero is basically a motel. La Fonda is a beautiful historical high end hotel with restaurants, shops, art.... The other issue was meals. Breakfast every day was an inedible joke. And on day 5, lunch was supposed to be included but we were "on our own". Additionally, plans changed with no warning. And some of the outings made no sense....... And our tour guide had never been to the area. We did have local tour guides for a couple of outings but we would have missed major historical landmark (Chimayo). We were within a mile of this pilgrimage site and only went because a lady on the tour asked.... This is a buyer beware situation. And.....when we have expressed our dismay to Elizabeth at Tours of Distinction all we get is defensiveness. 5/9/2026: Response to managers response: Pics attached are the two hotels. Clearly not comparable. Wish I had read these reviews before I booked. And again, the responses from the manager are ridiculous. Our "breakfast" was provided by the Chinese restaurant next to el sendero. The owner of the restaurant was very nice but had no idea how to do a breakfast. Nasty eggs, burnt bacon, chopped up hot dogs, burnt hash browns. And yes, my sister and I suggested fruit might be a nice option. We DID go to Chimayo church....it was added to the itinerary because a lady on the tour knew about it and the bus driver knew it was right next to the restaurant we were going to. They drove us 1.5 hours to go to a weaving shop in Chimayo but the church was not on the itinerary because their planning and research lacks any local knowledge. Every single person on this tour was unhappy. We made the most of it but would never recommend this company. Later on 5/9: And now they've just resorted to childish behavior.... On my sister's review saying "fyi, no one liked either of you". What idiots. So they are not only incompetent and unprofessional, they're stupid too. I have a lovely thank you card and gift from one of the other travelers as she appreciated me doing a Walgreens run for her as she was sick. The other travelers are the only reason this trip was even tolerable. Anyone who wants to look further - check out the "mentions" in Facebook. Make sure you look at Tours of Distinction Connecticut. They've had complaints from local tour drivers that they don't get paid their gratuities. Hopefully lots of people read this. I'm done but any discerning traveler can tell from the company's responses that they shouldn't be in business. To make it easier I shared the FB mentions. Now they are threatening us with a lawyer. Good. We have email addresses for every single person on the trip. Every single thing we have said is true. No one was happy. The company could have acknowledged and addressed the issues and the reviews could come down.
