The store sits at a crossroads and it looks like it's been here quite a while. When we entered a few locals were at the check out counter passing the time, discussing the news and welfare of other locals, it seemed. They all turned in our direction and greeted us before continuing to chat with each other. The store carried some fresh produce, snacks, canned goods, spices, household items of various sorts, Case knives, boots, jeans, outdoor wear, including Carhartt and other popular outfitting brands. Oh, and lottery tickets and ice cream. The employees were very nice to us. There were numerous choices of Mayfair ice cream to choose from, and Roy and I each got a cup of ice cream. A scoop of black cherry and a scoop of butter pecan. They invited us to come back any time, and I think we will.

Her old skates just didn't cut it any longer. We searched high and low and skates were just nowhere to be found! So many places had things on back order for months! We found the perfect skates, but couldn't find them anywhere. Until we discovered Derby City! They were flying off the shelves, but we made the trip to the storefront after Christmas and they had a huge order come in! My daughter was able to try on the skates, made sure she got the correct fit and tips on how to keep them up. They have lots of extras like tools and bags, etc, but nothing was pushed on us. I felt like we got answers to all of our questions, and we left happy. Very accommodating and helpful! Before we arrived the owner text us photos of some skates they had in stock, so we could see before we made the trip. She spent a good amount of time on the phone with me so I was comfortable knowing they had stock and options for my daughter. They are a small business, so they were also busy shipping out orders while we were there. Very nice people. We will definitely go back to them for all of our skate needs!
