a bowl of soup and a grilled cheese sandwich
    Nadine S.

Typical Friendly's that I haven't been to in years. Place was clean and convenient to hotel we were staying at. Waitress accommodated me as I wanted lunch even though only 10:45am but she said she would talk to cook which she did. Food was pretty good and service was good but what ruined the entire meal was the conversation our waitress was having with the people at the booth right behind us. She obviously knew them so the conversation made sense but not in a restaurant where people are eating UGH!!! First she started telling them how she had to miss work because her son had ringworm and the doctor told her yesterday it was back.., ok so that grossed us all out although just about done our meal at this point. Then she took their order and came back with their drinks and said she would be leaving early as her daughters school called and she was vomiting and puked all over herself! Okay I am a nurse so not much bothers me at all but this was just plain gross! Need some oversight at this establishment with customer service etiquette 101 training please!

Kids friend-z. Tons of kinds to pick from.

Lindsay was an amazing bartender--lots of attention to detail. I wasn't planning on imbibing but I couldn't resist an espresso martini I'd been watching her make on repeat. There were five or six other specialty cocktails that looked great too. We ate small plates (the tenders & cauliflower are great) and I had a yummy flatbread and he had the sirloin. The World Cup was playing on all TVs, so it's a great spot to catch a game. Staff is friendly and I liked the overall vibe, even for a younger crowd!

Her suggesting both of these was perfection and it only seemed to get better as the meal went on. We then had whipped goat cheese and the smoked maple flatbread which were both amazing. We then shared the seasonal turkey burger and got a Halloween espresso martini flight and another bartenders specialty Halloween cocktail. What a meal! Everything was great! We sat at the bar where Lindsay made sure we had everything and more! It was a packed house and we were always taken care of. All of the other guests were as well---and it was quite the wonderful crowd of people which says wonders about a place. This restaurant is simple, but in the best way possible. They don't go over the top with decor, but rather kept it simple, elegant and inviting. I really loved the look. What a great experience! I'll be back for sure!!

I had the Apple fennel stuffed pork loin, also excellent. Since Aire is a scratch kitchen, the pace of the meal is nicely relaxed. We ate outside on the terrace. The chef actually crisped up croutons in a skillet so they were warm, and it ended up being the best caesar salad I have ever had. My seafood stuffed haddock was cooked perfectly and filled with flavor. Everything that hit our table was seasoned perfectly and fresh. These are clearly high-quality ingredients prepared with care and time, and it shows--absolutely worth the price. Compared to what you'd pay in Boston, I found the pricing very reasonable. I've been hoping for a restaurant like this ever since moving here 15 years ago. Until now, I've had to drive about 35 minutes to Solstice in Kingston for a similar level of food--and at a higher cost. I'm excited to come back and explore more of the menu, especially the burger. It's almost unheard of to find a place that makes its own burger buns from scratch or uses ingredients grown at a local farm. That kind of commitment to quality and craftsmanship is what truly sets Aire apart from our other local options that all rely on frozen, prepackaged ingredients and premade sauces filled with chemicals. Most importantly, when the owner of a restaurant is also the chef and also the person actually cooking your meal, you have the rarest situation in restaurants....the best situation for quality.

Maybe they just don't know what a real hotdog should be... all beef with a natural casing grilled to perfection... not this place... their hotdogs reminded me of eating a boiled hotdog at the school cafeteria. The chili dogs I had tasted like it was a reheat from the day before... nothing like the Texas chili I've grown accustomed too. The lady smoking between orders should've been a red flag right away. The tables out front were weathered and dotted with bird poop. This lunch truck is an easy pass... there are other spots to have lunch at that are more enjoyable.

WHAT There was a criminal here when I came to get a hot dog, so I got to meet both Smokey and the Bandit. Awesome. Not to be confused with Snookis, which is far sexier, a little tastier, more tanned, and has way more pickles. The grill was a little over the top, making the whole parking lot Smokeys. This is a pretty spectacular hot dog shop (um, truck) that is located in Massachusetts somewhere halfway between Boston and Providence, sort of like my secret love nest (hi boys). They make delicious hot dogs, which are definitely five star. I loved every single bite. They put a lot of love into the product and all the ingredients are as excellent as the taste. Very well done to the owners and preparers. Pretty much one of the better hot dogs you'll find anywhere. I highly recommend you stop by and give it a try. Trucks aren't usually great, but occasionally they are. Usually overpriced and hipstery and lacking in quality or taste, but this is the opposite. Affordable, expertly made, and as authentically awesome as you could hope. Yes it's a little truck, so try not to come it's too freezing (like, 8 months of the year in these parts ugh), or if you do, I suggest eating in your car like I did. Also Smokey's is where they filmed the movie Almost Famous, obviously. And when I eat the hot dogs here, then much like Kate Hudson wearing her sexiest Fabletics outfit, I am a Golden God.
