A Taste of Nostalgia! The Falafel Guy Is STILL Here!…read more I was in town today taking care of some business with the city, and I just HAD to see if my falafel guy's truck was still around! It had been six years since I was last here, but this was a spot I had been visiting for over 15 years. To my surprise and absolute delight, HE WAS STILL HERE! Let me tell you, I was so happy to be number THREE in line! If you know, you KNOW! The regulars and fellow falafel lovers understand that being third in line at 11:40 a.m. is a pretty good spot. Clearly, I wasn't the only one who knew where to find the good stuff! The moment you get close, the incredible smells and aromas start pulling you in. And just when you think it couldn't get any better, he puts on the jazz music! Instantly, I was transported back to 2003, standing in line with my colleagues, waiting patiently and anticipating what was on the menu that day. Half the fun was not even knowing what he might be serving, but you waited anyway because you already knew it was going to be worth it! There's something special about returning to a place that holds so many memories and discovering that some things never change. The food, the atmosphere, the music, and that familiar feeling of being right where you belong. Six years later, and the Falafel Guy is STILL holding it down! If you know this truck, you know the experience. And if you don't, you're missing out! #OctopusFoodTruck #FalafelLovers #FoodTruckFavorites #HiddenGems #FoodWithMemories #SupportLocal #BackForMore

Prices were a bit high, but they do give you a ton of food. I ordered the jerk chicken with candied yams and cabbage. My bf ordered the jerk chicken with rice and Mac n cheese. I'm still not sure if we actually got jerk chicken or maybe stewed chicken. I've never seen or tasted jerk chicken like this before and it also looks different with the other pictures posted on yelp. It was very wet and fatty. The cabbage was delicious and the yams were a bit too sweet but addicting. They were also all mushed up. The Mac n cheese was good but the rice was a bit hard. I'm happy I got to try it, but I am not sure if I would reorder from here again if I see the truck.

Today I tried the special (fish taco) and was blown away by how well the taco was cooked. The fish was tender, not overcooked, and very flavorful. The accompanying sauce, slaw, and other toppings were light and balanced the fish perfectly. I'm not a huge fan of fish tacos, but this one might convert me! I also ordered an old staple, the tuna dip, which was just like I remembered. My only disappointment was the margarita didn't come with the salt rim I ordered. Ample sauces, peppers, onions, relishes and melty cheese to beat the band.
