Food trucks have come a long way and some of the best eats will be from trucks, especially in Philly. Street Food Philly came down to the Navy Yard on this lovely spring day and everything on the menu sounded delicious. My stomach can only hold so much during lunchtime so I got the black angus beef quesadilla and the truffle parm fries. Amazing!! I typically like my fries on the thinner side but they put just the right amount of truflle oil and freshly grated parmesan cheese that I didn't mind the thickness. The quesadilla was filled with perfectly seasoned ground beef, pico, and cheese. The meal was quite on the heavy side so I was only able to finish half of my meal. I'll be heating it up in about 2 hours. I tried picking it up to eat with my hands but it got quite messy. The filling kept falling out and luckily, I was all alone at my desk that no one saw me shoving my fingers into my mouth to get all of the goodness in there. I eventually became civilized and grabbed a fork to eat like a normal human being. Hope they came back so I can try out some of the other creations.

The food truck biz is definitely growing here in Philly. I saw the attractive bright green truck lined up amongst the others on 33rd street, central to Drexel students path to school. I saw their short but attractive menu posted on a white board and mulled it over for a couple minutes. The roasted lamb sandwich stood out to me with its Mediterranean influence, so I went with it. The owner, Mike, was friendly and chatted me up. He told me they had just roasted the lamb the previous night and that their menu constantly changes according to what they have available. HIs partner, Carolyn, is a friendly American-Vietnamese lady and they are just great! The sandwich was absolutely to die for!! I could not stop raving about it after I had it and immediately sent pictures, instagramed and advocated it to all of my friends. It definitely wasn't just lunch truck quality, but high restaurant quality. The meat was juicy and tender and the sauce topped it all off. There was just the right amount of feta cheese and olives- I don't even like olives and I very much enjoyed it in this sandwich. I even got my friend to go to their truck the same day and she got their pork tacos, which were also delish! I went back a second time yesterday and got the clam and oyster chowder, which was less creamy and more salty than for my liking. They were running out of a lot of their items since it was later in the day, and I was recommended the turkey sandwich. It has beans and a fried egg on top, but I ate it when it was cold so I can't say I liked it very much. I won't doubt their other items though. I heard the banh mi is pretty good, so I'll definitely be returning to try everything else!

I perused the row of food trucks looking for something that appeared to be filling and tasty. Then Pbons came into view. Cheesesteaks on pretzel buns sounded like it met these requirements. I chose the chicken cheesesteak and it was actually bigger than I expected. As I stood there looking at the mound of chopped chicken between the two pieces of pretzel bun, I was wondering if it would even stay in the bread once I picked it up and started eating. While some did fall out (and was expertly caught by me in my cardboard tray) the chicken actually stayed inside the sandwich for the most part. Maybe it was the large ladle full of cheese sauce that held it together. Either way, this was a delicious sandwich and I would recommend giving it a shot if you see this truck while roaming the streets of Philly. Moist flavorful chicken, creamy cheese sauce, and a tasty pretzel bun makes for a good sandwich indeed.

I may have had super high expectations, which were impossible for Rambles to live up to, but I have to be honest-- it's just not that good. A little unconventional, but some of the pictures online steered us in that direction. The pizza was ready for pick up at the designated time and the pre--phone ordering was seamless. It took us a little while to get home and find parking, so we decided to heat up our pizzas in the oven to get that fresh pizza effect. However, when we opened the box, the toppings were barely discernible, or at least, not as plentiful as previous Yelp posts had shown them. We shrugged it off and hoped the taste would redeem it. The pizza wasn't bad, but it really wasn't good either. The sauce, from the little I could taste, had amazing flavor-- there just wasn't enough of it. I had the same sentiment with the cheese and the toppings. My friend actually said while eating the pizza, "Oh, I forgot we ordered mushrooms because I can't really see or taste them." The crust was thin, but lacked a chewiness that I want in all my pizzas. I'm usually a 2-slice max person, but honestly, I was STILL hungry after two. It just kinda reinforced the idea that the pizza lacked substance :( My friend and I just about finished the 16" pizza ourselves. Overall, I'm just a little disappointed-- at the hype, quality and apparent inconsistencies.

I live in Kensington - so a good 20 minute drive away from this place but this Pickle Pizza special was worth the effort! My husband called in the order and had no issues picking it up. I will say I had the pizza about 1-2hours after we picked it up (see long day at work). My husband kept it in the oven on warm and it held up well. When I got home I was more than stoked to see him pull this gorgeous large pizza out of the oven. It tasted just as good as it looked! The pickles were fresh and crunchy and the tzatziki sauce with dill was a perfect compliment. The crust was thin and sturdy - like it didn't flop around and wasn't soggy at all. This was some bomb pizza and even though it's far, I'd make the trip for this pizza again. It's just a bonus you can pick up some great beer right next door.

I've been twice now and have learned a few things: 1) You can still fill your stomach for less than $6 in u-city, even though the halal trucks have (understandably) raised their prices. 2) if you ask for ketchup on your fries, be prepared for the 50-50 fries to ketchup ratio. 3) don't order the corned beef sandwich So why 4 stars in spite of the above? Apart from affordability, the service is fast and friendly, and they have tons of non pork sandwich options, including a totally solid turkey bacon BLT. The fries are perfectly crispy and excellent with s&p. And the location, directly across from a window lined with treadmills, is absolutely hilarious. Nothing like wiping grease off my beard while watching Penn students run for their lives. I can't wait to try more things on the menu! Oh, and don't forget to tip!!!!

What I couldn't understand was why the bottom of the container it was in was filled with liquid cheese on the bottom but after visiting their website and IG I see that the cheese is squeezed on from a bottle so I guess it pooled there from dripping down the sides. This made for a very messy sandwich even by messy cheesesteak standards. It dripped and dripped with every bite. I gave up on it after awhile but revisited it a day later. It ate much better with the bread having absorbed all of the wetness. I enjoyed the taste and would love to explore the other offerings but I would not get the American Cheese again.
