Other than the fact that the slope is not that pronounced, any seat should be fine for viewing. Now for the important points.......We saw "The Fantasticks," the longest running Broadway show from 1960 to 2002. Jerry Orhbach actually played el Gallo, the narrator, in the original who opens the show with the beautiful ballad, "Time to Remember." Well, this production followed that proud tradition. Every actor was excellent and very talented.......the narrator, the boy, the girl, the two fathers, the mute........they were all superb. Bravo! A job well done. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment. Tip: on weekends when the Dime Bank is closed it is OK to park in the adjoining parking lot. We confirmed that with the theater.

Next time I think I would like to sit in that section. It's a little smaller, less seats and closer to the stage than where we sat. The play we saw was called, Half Time. It was a true story about older people who auditioned for the half time show for a basketball game. It was funny, entertaining and sad all at the same time. The actors did an amazing job. As far as the singing, some were better than others, but I think part of the problem was, some of the microphones were not as loud as others. It was still really awesome, and made the reality of getting older sobering and funny at the same time. I am not sure how long this show is running, but if it is still at this theater, you should go see it. I was able to only sneak two photos, since we weren't allowed to take pictures. I would go back to see other shows here. It's a great theater located in the great town of Port Jefferson!

From the clubhouse, one can see across vast expanses of the golf course. Several hundred trees were removed during a restoration led by architect Gil Hanse, the same man designing the Rio Olympics course. The first three holes play on your golf emotions like a fine wine that needs a bit more time to breathe. You know that in a short period of time, this magnificent bottle will yield a complexity that may be the best you have ever experienced. The only way to know is to savor what you have in front of you, grinning a little inside knowing that something very special is about to be revealed. St. Georges may look short on the card, but don't be fooled. It's a par-70, which means it will play almost 400 yards longer than the distance stated. While none of the holes is unfairly long, the rough is thick and high, the greens speedy and true, and the terrain severely undulating. You not only have to keep the ball in play, you have to control distance as well as accuracy. With the greens well protected by mounds, deep bunkers and internal contour, the adventure doesn't end when you get greenside, but may in fact be only be beginning. Holes #1 through #4 tempted me to take shots I can pull off on flat courses but the risk here at St.Georges are so strategic! that you should easy back off the accelerator and attack the course at very few and far between points. Devereux Emmet made sure of this back in 1916 when he designed the course, with classic bunkering on both the fairways and greens. Rolling your approach shots can be your best route or your worst nightmare. At the driving range as I was warming up for the days round, I was approached by the golf pro Rod Heller and we struck up a conversation. We talked golf plane swings as we both fought a double cross hook for some stints of time. I peered over his shoulder to see my playing partners waiting for me, I had to excuse myself so we could begin the journey of our day out on the course. To be honest, I could have spent all day talking to Russ. What a sweetheart, complete gentleman and so available and willing to assist members with any needs, questions or comments they threw his way.

Well then friends, it's about time to take a walk into the quaint little Pindar wine shop. I like to support local business and organizations. Makes it even more easy to love Long Island's local Pindar Winery. The main Vineyards are located on the North Fork of Long Island in Peconic. If you don't want to travel all the way out to the North Fork. Pindar wines provides much of what you want right here. There's a wonderfully fresh current selection always available here. Wine tasting can be a wonderfully, delicious and educational experience. I highly suggest becoming a member of the Pindar wine club. My friend has these benefits and they entitle him to free tastings and other extras. Most fortunately, my friend was with us for our visit today. One glance of the wine club membership card, and the old red carpet was rolled right out. Great, who doesn't love outstanding customer service. Our Pindar wine experts treated our entire crew to taste some of their more reserved selections. I thought I knew a little about pindar wines their "Sweet Scarlet", "Summer Blush" and Winter White have been among our favorites. This time I was introduced to some new selections. The different wines varied in flavors and intensities. Sweet, dry, full-bodied, aromatic, and delicious. All were served up with a smile and wonderful hospitality. Even more delightful than the delicious new wines, was the genuinely warm welcoming we received here. That's just so important when I shop for anything, I like to know that my business is appreciated. Thank you again Pindar wines for the wonderfully educated and courteous staff that greeted us today. As a result of the genuine feel here, I will be joining the Pindar wine club. I can't wait for my next visit. Pindar wine Outlet & tasting room is recommended to all who may partake.

This festival is geared toward kids and family fun! Pictures with Santa, roasting marshmallows, and ice skating. The Village Center was the site for the "Festival of Trees". Local business themed Christmas trees all decorated for the season. Vendors of all kinds set up their wares here as well as in various locations throughout the village. The highlight of the event are the performers who are dressed up in 19th century Victorian era costumes. Some are stationed at various points, giving out directions. Others are meandering around the village spreading Christmas cheer, "Happy Christmas to you both!" Many stop to talk to and take pictures with the children and their families. We heard they parade down Main Street and stop at the lighting of the Christmas tree. Both activities which I missed...no doubt buying something from a vendor! The weather was unusually balmy for December. It did not take away at all from the cheery Christmas feel. I wish I had known about this event when my children were younger, I definitely would have visited with them. Truth be told, Christmas is my favorite holiday! I had a wonderful time... Then, I'd take the family to see A Christmas Carol at the theater. The street actors performed the play both forwards and backwards! Times were simpler then. The town allowed a roaring fire on Main St and provided sticks for the kids to roast marshmallows. This was my little town and we looked forward to this weekend. From the horse drawn carriages coming down Main St into port, it truly was an entertaining experience. Fast forward to 2019. From Newsday to News12 all saying come to Port Jefferson and experience the Dickens festival! Really? Over the years, I have seen people getting dressed like the characters?! On Saturday I run errands. I like to come into Port Jefferson and grab a specialty coffee at Starbucks. Starbucks during this weekend is slammed with tweens and parents drinking frappachinos. Parking? Forget about it, every spot is taken. Port Jefferson is a mad house with people trying to get a free marshmallow..... And why do you folks feel the need to get dressed like a Chimmey Sweep?? Dudes... really?? I'm knocking off a star. What was once nice memories are now dread when I get my coffee and dry cleaning. Nothing to see here folks, go to Sayville...

Yeah, the carpets are old and need to be replaced, decor is old too but who cares! PJ Cinemas opened in 1973 and has stayed open for a reason! The staff are so friendly, the tickets are little pieces of paper like back in the day and the prices are unheard of. Tickets are $10 for adults $7.50 for seniors. There are combo deals like the one that cost me $10.50 tonight for a small popcorn I couldn't even finish, small drink and candy!! What???? The theatres have seats you can choose when you walk in, no assigning seats here. You can choose to sit somewhere else if say a person with a big head chooses their seat in front of you. Inside has framed photos and posters from a bygone era. Each theater can house maybe 100+ theatergoers in one showing. But for the price, it cannot be beat. A matinee showing (before 6) and a small popcorn ran me about $12 total. TOTAL! The small popcorn was even the size of my hand and not an obnoxiously large portion regular theaters dole out. Inside the theater is clean and the sound level was perfect imo. I will say, the seats were a bit of an issue for me. Everything is ground level so fingers crossed a person of tall heritage does not sit in front of you. In addition, if you're under 5'1, prepare to have your feet swinging a bit, and no table to rest your popcorn. But they are still comfy! No squeaks and no numb cheeks after a 2.5 hour movie. Overall, considering the surprisingly wide selection of movies they show, I would be down to visit this place again for a cozy movie night!
