Wow, wow, and wow. Let me start by saying WOW. This place is Le Manifique!
So, upon check-in at our hotel, I asked for recommendations for dinner. We had just driven in from Paris and were very hungry. He recommended Frrida. It was Sunday, and they were open. After some experiences in Paris, we didn't know what to expect.
A short walk from our hotel and we found it. A little diamond in the rough. It is a very cute place with indoor and outdoor seating. One person who was on break at the entrance bar, I asked her for recommendations. She gave me some and continued on her break
My wife has been looking for a White Russian drink for the last week. Finally, someone who knew what that was and how to make one. Our other person also ordered something that the bartender knew and could accommodate. I ordered an Arnold Palmer. They figured out out and made it. Not a single problem with the drinks at all. They Sat is at a nice little table outside. There was a nice view of the whole outside area. We looked over the menu. Many things sounded nice. We ordered the Grilled Sea Bream and the Whole Sea Bass. These were recommended. When the meals arrived, again we didn't know what to expect. My sea bass had to be undressed (deboned). The waitress took care of that. She removed 2 beautiful felets with no bones and served it up. From the very first bite, each one of us commented how good our meals were. When I finally had a taste of my fish, OMG. What flavor. It was perfect. Tender, flaky, white fish. The red rice was a nice compliment that I have never had before. This was excellent.
As we ate and drank, we enjoyed the awesome atmosphere. People from all over, talking and having a good time. Different languages but the laughter the same. The only problem is the smoking. People, please, not in restaurants. It took America a few years to convince everyone, but they finally did it, and now everyone is super happy. I regress. We finished our main course and ordered dessert. Breoch Freda. Again, fantastic. Great flavor. Great choice.
Anyway, if you only have one dinner in Bordeaux, this should be the place to try. The food is amazing. Dessert is awesome. The service is fantastic. The drinks are great. Diamond in the rough.
I recommend it. read more
