No need to fret if you are looking for the perfect bass, guitar, banjo or ukulele... this shop has some great choices! My hubby's a bass player and he loved trying the uprights and acoustic guitars. I bought him a ukulele (along with a case) here and he has been loving it! The prices were fair and the service was great! There's a small seating area if you want to try out the instruments and jam a little. There's also some great gifts and novelty instruments... we just had to get a kazoo!! I mean, kazoos are a blast and the only thing I can play!! They carry straps, strings, cases and other musical needs. The skeleton in the window playing that gorgeous silver bass is a hoot! We drove down from Fairfax (near DC) to this shop, heard it was the best in Virginia for fixing basses. Worth the trip. We dropped in and they were giving a customer a bass that they had done a complete repair on. But they took the time to ask us if we would be patient while they finished with him. We were and they focused on him and made sure he was happy. Then they turned their attention on us and spent all the time necessary to check out our bass & then to put new strings on it. They spent the time to look the bass completely over & (fortunately) gave us a clean bill of health. They then put strings on it made sure all was good before giving it back. That customer service needs to be in much more shops -- it was perfect. Price was VERY fair. Strings alone would have cost almost the same as what they did. Only thing, make sure you DO NOT play tug of war with the dog..... Thanks! read more

Do not waste your time. They are not open, do not answer the phone, and their website does not work.

Super helpful local business that knows its stuff. You can often find someone restringing a bass or guitar in the back, or a couple of folks of any age strumming something on the side couch, and the staff is really knowledgeable and friendly. They'll recommend instructors, local jam sessions, live music at local bars and restaurants, etc. They'll take down an instrument you've never seen before and explain it to you. Can't stress how great the folks are here... and really encouraging to learners, beginner through advanced. read more

Nice store and nice people but if you want to sell or trade an instrument you shouldn't waste your time. I offered to trade or sell an instrument in new condition of a brand which they stock and sell for $1395. Without even looking at the instrument they were extremely discouraging and said they wouldn't be able to offer me anything for it. I found the discussion quite puzzling since their sign out front says buy, sell or trade. read more
