Where there is Happy Lemon, I'm a happy customer. Being a mild boba fan, I've come to appreciate all that this super popular Taiwanese chain has to offer. Their lemon based drinks not only quench my thirst on a hot day but the delicious concoctions often merit multiple visits.
This stand gets quite popular throughout the day and it doesn't help being located near the crowded exodus of Dundas, the notorious "food walk" of Mong Kok. During the weekends, the zoo of people make visiting any spot a chore, but in particular with this Happy Lemon where there is little ventilation and little space to wait. Grab a ticket and wait for the drink number to be called out. The staff isn't exactly quick with each drink order, I try to remind myself each one is made with love.
And really, it's delicious. Sure it's a marginally pricier than the other drink options just down the street (Gong Cha, King of Coconut, etc.) but it's hard not to love a cold lemon black tea. My other go to is a salted cheese lemon green tea (which hardly has any cheese) and gets me through the thirstiest and hottest times of the day.
It is cash only or Octopus Card here. Be sure to know what you want prior to ordering -- so many people will step to the front without a clue as to what they want and as a result, hold up the line. Don't be like them. read more
