The freezers were all frosted up and 1" of ice on the ice cream . The doors were all moistened up and you could not see inside. The deli counter had no deli meat only solo cups and candy. The shelves were pretty sparse. The meat counter was a bit iffy. Some of the meat looked a bit sketchy. Meaning discolored. Some of the coolers/freezers had no lighting . You had to open moistened doors to see inside. Either lightening is not working or bulbs were burnt out. The worst was the customers service from the cashiers. I am a frequent customer at Port Stanley Foodland and I have never bagged my own groceries there. They go above and beyond and treat you with the upmost respect. Unlike St Thomas where they would rather stand around and talk and push your bags and groceries to the end and watch you bag your own groceries. I am disabled and although you can't tell on the outside it would have been nice to have help. I asked the girl for her scanner so I could scan the water in my cart, so I didn't have to lift it out. I was met with rudeness. After that she didn't even look at me or speak to me. She just turned the bank machine around and waited for me to pay. She then went on to chat with her colleagues. In Port Stanley they will tell you the amount and begin bagging your items. They will ask if you had a scene card and if you want your receipt. Good thing I knew about using my scene card or it would not have been scanned. Port Stanley always has fresh produce and the store is clean and well stocked. The lighting in the St Thomas store is very deem. Its very dark in there . I think the new manger should take some pointers from Port Stanley otherwise this store will go down hill very fast.

They carry organic eggs, peanut butter, plant-based milks, vegan options, etc for the health-conscious. Cashier was friendly and shelves were well stocked. We were able to get everything we needed for our week-long camping trip. Easy in, easy out with no wait. Bring your own bags or buy them at the checkout.

Very friendly check-out people had no problem about altering my bill when I realized that I had forgotten the 3 bags of ice for our coolers. A nice, local and friendly place. The advertisements of local notices on their corkboard as you exit testifies to the true home-like nature of this place. I even bought kimchi there.
