This is a long overdue review…read more.. Once I found out that they give cheese tours, I made it a compulsory event on my to do list. They host monthly Saturday cheese tours and it cost $7 per person. Remember to call or email in advance to reserve a spot. My boyfriend and I arrived ~10 mins earlier than the scheduled tour. The ladies in the cheese shop area were super nice and told us to start sampling the cheese whilst we wait for the other parties to arrive. This was the first time I heard and tasted quark. We were told by the staff that it can be used in place of yoghurt - eg. eat it straight up or add it to baking. For the tour, they will give you shoe/boot covers and a hair net. They shut down the production line whilst giving the tour, which makes sense for hygiene reasons. The production area was immaculate! The tour guide told us they clean all the equipments and production area at the end of each day after a batch of cheese is made. The tour was informative and our guide was happy to answer all our questions. Apparently ~4000 liters of milk makes 100kg worth of cheese. Out of all the different production stages/areas, we spent the longest in the impressive "cheese cave". There were so many wheels of cheese!!! Each wheel weighs ~10kg and the net worth of cheese in the aging room were in the millions. After the tour the different parties waited in line to buy cheese. The cheese are all vacuum sealed to prolong storage life. Out of the 6 types of cheese I bought, the truffle flavour was favourite. It had a strong truffle aroma with an underlying milky taste.

This place is heaven in London!!!…read more They have the best selection of local and imported cheeses around, hands down!!! If you are looking for a specific cheese and they don't have it they will happily special order it for you. The prices are fair and of the 30 or so cheeses I've purchased so far there, I've yet to buy a piece of cheese that wasn't perfectly ripe. I LOVE this place and can't say enough good things about it! We visited another cheese factory earlier this year, and this is by far a better experience!…read more First off Stone Town Cheese is a bit out of the way, about 12 minutes from St. Marys. But it is definitely worth it and fairly popular. We went on Saturday and there was a group before us and by the time we left, another two couples waiting outside behind us. You can see the cows and plant on the property. They provided unlimited sampling, they have other food products for sales (local honey, meats, ice cream and flour...), but the focus is still the amazing cheese. We tried about 5 types and they were all delicious. Pricing is also quite reasonable for the quality. My only minor disappointment was we weren't given more background information on their cheeses and the company. But I suppose if we had a tour that might be offered. Overall, it was a nice visit on a beautiful day.

My boyfriend parked the RV and headed in looking for ice-cream while I gave the dogs a potty break. An older gentleman came out and offered water for my 4 legged babies. He inquired about our trip and let all 3 of us into his office to escape the warm day. My boyfriend did indeed get his ice cream fix and pronounced it DELICIOUS! We purchased some butter as well (haven't tried it yet, but I'm sure it's great) and would love to have tried the cheese curds, but alas, they didn't have any today. The young man in the store was just as kind, and wanted to know all about our trip. We have had nothing but fantastic interactions with everyone we have met along the way in Canada, and this was no exception. If you see the sign for the Dairy on the Highway, take a short 5 min detour and check it out! Grab a snack and something to drink and maybe make a friend along the way!

This was my first trip to Canada and so glad we stopped in the Woodstock area and got to visit this delightful family owned business. Can't recommend enough their cheeses and a tour. Oh we also bought I believe 2ish pounds of cheese curds for poutine, which I am stoked about.
