One of the best farmers markets around!…read more Not too big, but it's got a bit of everything AND it's on picturesque Main Street in Milton. Every Saturday from Spring to Summer. Friendly community ready to share their local talent and bounty! There are FREE parking lots nearby, and they close down a strip of Main Street for a pedestrian takeover. It's so lovely! And you can pop into the shops for more variety too, or a sit down meal. If Marquee Steak House is selling their Cinnamon buns -- GET ONE. Don't miss it. Sometimes there's a firetruck -- a fun experience for kids! Also, check out the Milton Museum by the Milton Historical Society to learn some interesting local history. As for the food, there's quite a variety! Aside from great local produce, pantry items, fresh, bread (come early - they sell out!), pastries, florists, coffee, sauces/condiments, deli, cheese mongers, crafts people and more. There's more hot food vendors as well, so you can eat while you shop. It's all very walkable and family-friendly. Highly recommend!

Milton is a pretty town and I also enjoy taking in the local architecture - tons of lovely century homes and buildings which are also over 100 years old.

I purchased from their hot food counter which is basically a Chinese food restaurant. The food was actually tasty and relatively cheap... definitely an easy stop on the way home if you know dinner isn't made. On my second and third visits though... unfortunately the rude customer service staff at the front lost them a star. At bare minimum say hello, thank you or smile. Throwing my receipt at me and pointing instead of replying doesn't work for me, as they spoke to each other about their weekend plans. It's also always a bit difficult as well when the majority of staff throughout the store doesn't speak English. Not the end of the world... I did get many steps in trying to find items myself! Lol All in all though, when I'm in town this store will very likely be a stop every time. Pros: Location (Derry Road & Bronte in Milton) in an outdoor plaza, store layout, cleanliness, selection of items, hot food menu station & taste, prices Cons: Staff (they can work on that), parking can be tricky when they're busy

I have to say, it was very far, but once we reached the outer skirts of Mississauga into Milton, I found the drive very peaceful. The farm is on 165 acres of escarpment countryside, and the current admission is $12/per person over the age of 5 years old. There were plenty of parking spots on the grassy areas, and washrooms are available. Inside the main building is a winery and shop that sells homemade goodies, including tarts, pies, jams, drinks, fresh fruits ... but on the pricey side! I personally can't imagine paying $18.50 for a pie made with lard. A bbq lunch is available on weekends. Note that you can't bring outside food onto the grounds. We brought a lunch but ended up tailgating. We missed the berry picking season (sold by weight), but I was pleasantly surprised to see many chickens running around right at my feet! The baby goats were adorable. They also had pigs, ducks, sheep, and other animals. There were plenty of beautiful dahlias ($2 each), but some of the sunflowers were wilting. In hindsight, early August would have been ideal. We came on a cloudy day but still captured some nice photos. We had an enjoyable afternoon.

One of the big draws for us is their very tastefully curated market shop which has everything from costume jewellery, home decor/accoutrements, classy tableware etc. Their name branded Springridge Farm chutneys, BBQ seasonings, rubs and salad dressings are outstanding! Every year they increase their repertoire. They have a ton of other jarred comestibles. They have a lovely bakery/coffee shop on site where you can relax in the garden under the large trees.

Springridge was about a 35 minute drive from our place, so it was an easy decision. We arrived around lunchtime and the place was already quite crowded but fortunately there was plenty of parking. We were all a bit peckish, so lunch was the first order of the day. I decided to go with the Smoky BBQ Pulled Chicken ("Crispy Onions, Chipotle Aioli, Potato Scallion Bun. Served with Kettle Chips") and it was handed to me within a minute of paying. It's a decent sandwich. The less-than-generous amount of pulled chicken is pretty tasty and the fresh, soft bread goes with it perfectly. The kettle chips were tasty, too. The rest of the place is fairly nice, although we were a little surprised at how expensive it is to visit the attractions. With tax, the total for two people came out to $35! It's a little outrageous given that there isn't a whole lot to do back there, although feeding the baby goats was a highlight. (Even that, however, you had to pay extra for.) Springridge is cute enough, though I doubt it's worth almost $100 for a couple hours of entertainment.
