He tries really hard not to make a face when you let it slip that you're looking for this particular bottle of wine (you show him a photo you took of the label on your phone) and you suddenly realize you probably got it at Costco ... rats. Nah, nah, start over. G. Todd meets you at the door because he meets EVERYBODY at the door with a smile. He's just that kind of guy. And that wine you got at Costco and you bought it because it had a big wine expert rating? He probably doesn't have THAT one, but he knows what that one's like and he can point you to a couple of others that are at least as good. (At LEAST.) His beer selection rotates through a bunch of foreign beers (nice Belgians last visit), domestic micros and a passel of locals and near-locals. His wine and beer tastings after work are fun, with friendly regulars and libations served by really helpful and knowledgeable people. And he always has a really fun growler from a local brewery or interesting microbrew from which he'll fill a plastic jug for you to take home. Drink it within a couple of days so it won't go flat. They have a great variety of all of the above drinks and snacks, and particularly with respect to wines from all regions and of many different prices ranges (from $12 all the way up to $100+). Cheeses are also pretty good in variety and types, and they'll often have some cheeses and crackers available for tastings. If not, the staff is pretty knowledgeable on what they have to offer, so they can make great suggestions for wine and food pairings that meet your tastes and budget. One of the best perks about this place, in addition to the free tasting they'll often have, is that you can take out a basket (with deposit) and purple solos cups for an afternoon picnic. We ordered a dry white wine flight and a sweet flight to split, our favorite dry was Villard Blanc, and sweet would have to be between the Fig Wine and the Piña Colada wine (most interesting wine I've ever had). Open 12-6 Saturday and Sundays they had a taco food truck this date for food option. You can sit inside or out, lots of open spaces to choose from. You can also take a seat in the vineyards!! A simple pre-dinner drink turned into one of the most epic nights I've had in years. The most special thing about this micro Brewery is, it actually is a micro Brewery. The owner and Brewer Carey, only bruise enough for the store location. He does not Kang. He does not miss produce it. If you wanna try his amazing beers. The only place you can go is to his establishment. To me, it makes a beer more special, because it's only intended for an intimate audience. And that's why my night was so epic. When we get to the Brewery. We are intrigued by the multiple selections., and the bar keep, was super polite and patient with us as we wanted to try samples of all the beers that intrigued us. Initially our goals just to have one beer and head to dinner. The bartender was super polite and patient with us. We finally decide on a pint and we head upstairs, because the Brewery is actively brewing beer. We wanted to peak in NC anything we could. We end up chatting with Carey, who is in the office. Carey, the owner and head brewer, was nothing but amazingly nice. They ran out of their tiramisu beer. I asked him how he brews such an interesting beer, he offered to give me the recipe. I settled on just a verbal explanation on how he does it. After him telling me his process there's no doubt my mind that this guy is an absolute genius and truly passionate about his micro Brewery and his beers. Carey it's kind enough to explain the history of the building of the Brewery and some of the artifacts that he actually has in the Brewery. I really appreciate the eclectic look in knowing the history behind everything makes it even more special. Green bus brewery is truly a Hometown local bar. Our intended one beer turned into three. And we were socializing with the owner and his patrons. They made us feel like family. They gave us stories about the town about the Brewery. I can understand why people go back on a regular basis. I travel about 70% of the year, and I'm away from home and that feeling is not lost on me. However, last night having a beer at Green bus Brewery, I honestly felt like I was at home thanks to Carey and his wonderful patrons. That is gonna be a night that my coworker and I will remember for a long time. I hope to come back to Huntsville. When I do, I will be sure to visit Green Bus Brewery. I was in the mood for something cold but not beer at 4pm, so I opted for the apple chider which is apple cider and chia tea and IT WAS SOOOO GOOD! My sister got the dark cholesterol cherry cold brew with a splash of cream and it was super good too! My fiancé got a watermelon beer and it even had a pink tinted foam on top! The Halloween decor was super cute inside (Cobb webs, spiders, candles, spooky vases) to make it the perfect place to go during the month of October! Staff were amazing and knew the menu to a tea!
