After trying Bolay, I wanted to come to Fresh Kitchen! This was my first time here and the staff is amazing. This Fresh Kitchen is located in a new plaza that is near FAU. The line can be pretty long, but everyone gets their order really quickly. I ordered the six bowl, which meant that I would be able to choose 2 bases, 2 veggies, 2 proteins, and 1 sauce. So I got brown rice, sweet potato noodles, parmesan broccoli, beans, grilled citrus chicken, bbq chicken, and my sauce was coconut sriracha. I always get sweet potato noodles wherever I go. They were delicious here and the texture was on point (thick orangey-clear like noodles in sauce). The brown rice was the usual (not too soft and not too hard). The difference between Fresh Kitchen and Bolay is that even though both of their protein choices are good, Bolay's protein is covered in sauce. Personally, I like it when my protein comes with sauce. The coconut sriracha is one of my favorite sauces (creamy and flavorful), but sriracha is always going to be good! The interior and exterior of the restaurant is just a 10/10. Upon walking in, it didn't take long for me to say to myself "I really like this place." The atmosphere is just so bubbly, bold and inviting, which is working for them because it's an EXTREMELY popular lunch destination. Like Bolay (just 2 mins away) during lunch hours, the line can wrap around 2 full walls of the restaurant. But amazingly, it doesn't take as long as you'd think to reach the front. Again, the atmosphere helps the wait as it really puts you at ease with their soft pink/baby blue/powder green color scheme. Fantastic interior design for this style of cuisine. Fresh Kitchen is another addition to the health food restaurant scene sweeping through our Strip malls and Aves. They serve fresh cooked food that you can see at the counter and add to your Four (Regular) or Six (Large) Bowl with Bases, Veggies, Protein and Sauce. Sans the long line, actually getting the food is a quick process, so restaurants like these are essentially "Fast Food" but completely redefining the meaning. Fast food now can be healthy, fresh, and not processed. And the prices ain't bad either with the Four and Six Bowls going for just $7.95 and $9.95, respectively. The food is fun, innovative and delicious. They also have some nice teas and frescas (fresh juices) to sip on. I used to frequent Fresh Kitchen often, when I worked nearby their Boca Raton location. I was in the area and decided to stop by to pick up food to go. I ordered a "Six bowl" which includes 2 bases, 1 veggie, 1 protein, and one topping. The portions were so incredibly tiny that they looked like they belonged in a kid's meal. I do understand that this is a "healthy" restaurant and perhaps the food is measured out. However, the serving sizes are very very small. I will not be coming back to Fresh Kitchen, because I am disappointed in the portions of food for the cost of the meal. Food was not warm, and the chicken and broccoli were very cold. I frequent Fresh Kitchen's Boca Raton location quite often and besides their amazing menu choices and quality of the food the real thing that truly stands out is their staff. I went in today and one team member in particular, McKenzie really went above and beyond and made my day. Wonderful customer service really goes a long way in the restaurant industry and I really have to give it to the management and team members there because I have never once have had a bad experience here. Everyone is always in a great mood and serve up fresh food with a smile and great attitude. All their COVID procedures are also fantastic so you don't have to have any worries if you're dining in here, place is spotless and attended to, which is hard to find these days! I enjoy the build your own bowl concept in general and the healthy choices it offers. However, I didn't enjoy the seasoning of most of my bowl: it was very mild, if non-existent (the kale mix is unseasoned, for example). When it came to the final choice- the sauces- I was disappointed to find that none of the offerings sounded appealing to me at all. I asked my (very nice) server about the creamy white ginger sauce (the name is a complete turnoff, but I like ginger). She told me it was sweet, so I went for it. It was definitely tasty, so perhaps some of the other sauces would end up being tasty as well. If I had not liked the sauce, however, I would have found the bowl difficult to eat. The barbeque chicken was tasty. I didn't care for the consistency of the sweet potato mash. It was disappointing to be handed a flimsy plastic carton as the takeout carrier. For such a health-conscious restaurant, why place my food in plastic? Better than styrofoam, but far from ideal. I found the inside space unappealing, with raucous colors and workout-style music. Fresh Kitchen is a great addition to Boca Raton! They feature very healthy food served in a bowl with your own customized choices. I had steak and chicken, both beautifully tender, with feta cheese, white rice and fantastic veggies. In particular I enjoyed the Brussel Sprouts, mushrooms, and Cauliflower! You get your empty bowl, small or large, and go down the serving line adding your choices. You get your base that goes on the bottom, next vegetables, then protein, and a topping. You get two of each for a large bowl, one of each for a small bowl, but only one topping for either. The food was very good. I really liked the soft drink choices. I had a large bowl with coconut ginger rice and kale slaw for my base Sesame green beans and Parmesan broccoli for my vegetables and protein's I had baked almond chicken and grilled Citrus chicken. I like a few toppings. I had some feta cheese, Citrus avocado, kale pesto tomatoes and the bean and corn salsa. All the things I tried were seasoned well and tasted great. The whole thing came out to be a bit over $10 and was very filling. I ended up packing half of the bowl as leftovers. Overall, I loved the healthy concept and the sauce really brought the dish to the next level. My favorite topping was the Parmesan broccoli. The one downside was that my grilled chicken tasted a bit burnt and charred, leaving a bitter aftertaste. What more could anyone want who's hungry and likes to eat healthy, than this place right here. They have their own unique menu items that make this place stand out from the other made-to-order health restaurants. The first thing that caught my attention (which I added to my bowl) was the sweet potato noodles. They are a clear light weight noodle (quite tasty with a light flavor) that looks similar to the miracle noodle (if anyone's ever had the miracle noodles before). Additionally, they give you several different flavors of chicken to choose from. I had a lime chicken that was fantastic. They have a great kale salad as well, and these delicious cooked and marinated mushrooms that practically melt in your mouth. Their fresh salsa is also the freshest in town. My absolute favorite part about all of the things you can choose from is the coconut curry Sriracha sauce. You can choose from several different sauces and this one, I was told by a staff member, was the most popular and her favorite. And I'm sure glad I took her recommendation because it was outta this world. Great place for lunch. Everything tastes amazing, the staff is friendly and informative, and it's very reasonable.
