We are extremely thankful we selected Fresh Coat Painters to paint the exterior of our home in Santa Barbara. We were completely satisfied with the entire process and finished product. We interviewed and received proposals from at least 4 different, highly rated, painting contractors in the Santa Barbara area before deciding to go with Fresh Coat. Their attention to detail - beginning with the proposal itself - was impressive. Since our old wood-sided 2-story bungalow style Santa Barbara house (built in 1911) is a secondary rental home and not our primary residence in the Coachella Valley, we were doing much of the planning of the 4-color scheme and communication long distance, making it more challenging. Justin answered all our many questions and provided helpful information and suggestions throughout the process and could not have been more accommodating. Both Justin and Martin (the co-owners of Fresh Coat) and their crew could not have been more professional and thorough. They were excellent communicators and answered all of our questions. They also brought up areas of concern with the old house and reassured us that the final result would be satisfactory. Since we were making a major color scheme change, we were anxious about how the final result would be. Not only were we happy to see the finished product, we even got positive reviews from the neighbors about the new look and the courtesy and professionalism of the crew. We had other proposals from well-reviewed contractors but felt that Fresh Coat's proposal was the most thorough and detailed and competitively priced. We were very pleased that not only did the job turn out beautifully, but that it was finished on the exact date Justin had estimated for the completion date. The workers arrived promptly on each day and were conscientious of their work and cleanup each day; and they were extremely polite and respectful of our tenants and nearby neighbors. Indeed, one of our neighbors overheard one of the workers stating to the other worker that it was important to keep their voices low so as not to disturb nearby neighbors. A great example of a professional paint crew. We can wholeheartedly recommend Fresh Coat to anyone looking for a top-quality paint job. read more

I would recommend this business to everyone! My husband and I finally decided to paint the exterior of our house and were nervous about what to expect. From start to finish, our experience was phenomenal. Every still staff we encountered was courteous and professional! We had a few meetings to go over what we wanted then requested five paint samples to choose from. After choosing a color, we waited for the rain to pass and the work got started. Our house was properly prepped and ready for paint. It took about a week and a half to complete everything. I appreciated that the team always cleaned up their stuff at the end of each day and never left trash around. The finished product blew me away and I've never been happier about how my house looks. I also feel that we got everything we paid for and more. If you're needing a painter, i would highly recommend these guys! Absolutely amazing. read more

Everything about Fresh Coat and their leaders Justin and Martin is the essence of value and professionalism. It had been close to 20 years since our home had been painted so we got 4 quotes from the top rated Yelp house painters in Santa Barbara and Fresh Coat was neither the lowest nor highest price, but everything they said spoke to our aims. Long lasting high quality paints( Sherwin Williams Premium), a reasonable time to complete and great references were the core of their discussion with us months before we wanted the job to begin. Their walk through, estimate and preplanning were comprehensive and sensible. The job took three weeks while we were home and their crew, Javier and Cesar were focused, trusted and experienced. The result is fantastic! And there were no change order cost add ons due to the excellent quote process. Thanks Fresh Coat! read more

Couldn't have been a better experience with Justin, Martin and the rest of the team at Fresh Coat. We needed someone to touch up interior walls and repaint a bathroom ceiling after a leak from upstairs. They showed up on time, gave professional advice and service, and finished the job one day early! They were very clean, respected our home and showed up with shoe coverings. We will absolutely call again and refer for other paint jobs big and small. read more

We used Fresh Coat Painters for an interior house project and were very happy with the quality and professionalism. Justin always communicated very well , as did the foreman Martin and they explained the bid and the process well at bid time and then again prior to the project being started answering any questions The bid was comparable to other bids, but we felt the detail of bid breakdown, and explanations were much clearer so there was no confusion about the job or thoroughnesses. And felt the finished product was a reflection of their professionalism. We liked the workmanship so well that we had them come back later to do our front exterior wood siding , eaves and trim painting that was desperately needed and then the following year we had them do an interior laundry room project as well as the rest of the exterior, and side and back which consisted of stucco, trim, eaves, doors, and a yard gate. They clean, prep and prime areas to ensure a good finished product and immaculate clean up. We were extremely satisfied with every aspect of the work and the process of working with them.l and their staff. read more

Justin and his team were fantastic! Very professional and reliable. I was so impressed with the exterior painting of my house I had them come back and do some interior work. Again they did a superb job and I would recommend them to anyone who wants a job done right! Thanks again Justin and Martin and crew! read more

We had Fresh Coat paint 100% of the inside and outside of our house. They were very dialed in on the detail work. We could not be happier.

The most professional and businesslike painting company we have ever done business with. Our project entailed exterior painting of several rental properties. Justin and his team did a thorough pre-project walk of each property defining the scope of work, timeline for each project, including prep, finishes and clean up. Each property schedule was adhered to, feedback provided, and the crew moved from building to building. There was necessity that the crew interact with residents and that was done professionally and seamlessly. There was project supervision constantly by Justin and his team. At the end of the work, another thorough walk of each project was completed before payment was made. We could not be more pleased and would provide the highest recommendation. We will most certainly use Fresh Coat Painters again. read more

Can't say enough good things about Fresh Coat. Justin is just an outstanding business operator. Super detail oriented and well organized and devoted to making his customers comfortable with every step of the process. They painted my house in Oxnard, and the results were fantastic. It looks better than ever! His crew are super clean, productive and respectful. Really a cut above. So glad we chose them! read more

Need painting done? Look no further!! Like so many of the other reviewers here, our home was in dire need of a complete exterior paint job. We were looking for more than just a touch-up; we're talking peeling, cracked paint that was several years old. We had also recently had some repairs and improvements done, so there was new wood and raw stucco mixed in amongst the older paint. We reached out to Justin at Fresh Coat on the advice of a friend, and we were not at all disappointed. Justin owns the company, but handled the prep portion of our project personally. We felt a great sense of security with the way Justin managed our job, from the initial consult, walk-around, and proposal to our color consultation and finally the job itself, which was managed by his project foreman, Martin. They are both knowledgable and experienced in their industry. You can tell they both take great pride in the work they do and the business they've built. Justin's input in particular during the color consultation was invaluable. We had a funny logistical detail that we lobbed at Justin, but he rolled with it like a pro. After weighing our options, we decided to have our front doors replaced rather than paint them, but that also created an issue: The doors wouldn't be installed in time for the job date we had set. We were reluctant to move forward with the job if we'd have to tear apart the front door after it had been nicely painted. Justin suggested that his guys come back and finish the trim work around the door after the install. Sure enough, a few days after our front door was replaced, the Fresh Coat crew was back to wrap up the front door casing. True professionals. The job itself took a little over a week to complete. Martin and his crew were extremely thorough, stripping old peeling paint, sealing up cracks and separations, and priming surfaces. The products they use are top quality. While the older paint job we were replacing felt cheap and flakey, the new paint on the house feels substantial, like it has some real weight to it. We're not worried at all about the elements now; we feel like we have a weatherproof home. I think what struck me the most was the extraordinary communication we got from Fresh Coat. I don't think there was a single time we contacted Justin or Martin and didn't get a reply back within an hour. Moreover, Justin is extremely thorough attentive to detail, as I believe has been mentioned countless times in other reviews here. I don't think I've ever received such a well put-together proposal for a home improvement project. If I had a question or a concern, it was addressed quickly and completely. Overall, we're very pleased with the job Justin, Martin, and the crew at Fresh Coat did for our house. I'm sure it won't be the last project we hire them for, and they'll be the first two words out of my mouth to anyone asking for a painting recommendation. read more

From the initial meeting to the final cleanup everything was professional and courteous. Expectations were set and consequently fully met. Any issues along the way, and they were very few, were resolved to our satisfaction. The team takes pride in their work and is detail-oriented. We also had the same team each day which made for consistency and good communication. The project, which was a three-story home exterior was actually completed 3 days early . Highly recommend. read more

I can't recommend Fresh Coat Painters enough! From start to finish, the team was great. We met with Justin (the owner) who helped us select a color scheme that matched our home's style. In addition to exterior painting, they stained our living room beams and fireplace to match. They also replaced an exterior door that had been weathered after years of direct sunlight. Our project manager was great at keeping the team on schedule and completed our project in less time than originally anticipated. read more

The guys just packed up their ladders and brushes after a 2.5 week project painting my home. I could not have picked a better company to work with. Justin, your professional process and excellent staff are so appreciated. Martin, checked in frequently to ensure I was satisfied. Rob, the lead painter was so thorough and kind. Rob, Marco and Smiley worked every day with smiles on their faces and did all they could to accommodate me. This company does a color consult, they offer ideas, they are flexible and willing to work through issues. These guys showed up every day on time and with an enthusiasm that left me speechless. They finished exactly on the day they said they would....that's never happened before when I've hired painters. I will use them again....absolutely no doubt about it. read more

Justin and his team are very professional and very nice. Martin would always keep in contact with you. They painted the interior and exterior of our house in a timely matter. Again, fabulous job! After our recent exterior painting several months ago (see the review in November 2022) we just hired them for some interior window painting. They did a great job, cleaned up afterwards, and were a pleasure to work with. Our windows look like new! My bathroom was in need of a paint job. There were multiple shades of color. Holes that needed to be patched. Justin walked the job within days of me contacting him. He and Martin came back together prior to the job being started to communicate and go over what I could expect. It took one day. Everything dried quickly. The bathroom was left clean, the painter also protected the fixtures, vanity and other areas. Fresh paint is quick, reliable, on time, and professional. I'm happy with the job they did. read more

They hire hourly hired help, not professionals. The work is terrible and not on schedule. The workers do not respect your home and spill paint on the floor and don't tell you until confronted about it. You have to constantly point out their mistakes or they won't fix them. This is just another sham business that hires day laborer amateurs, not professional painters. read more

My house hadn't been painted in more than ten years, 15+ is probably more realistic if I'm guessing. It had fallen into a state of disrepair to put it nicely and I needed help. We had cracked wood, rotted boards, holes in the stucco, peeling paint chips as big as your hand and for whatever reason someone also made the design choice at one point to add a brick facade so now three different textures and multiple colors. Justin was helpful and communicative and always on time. He walked me through the whole process before it started and any time I had a question he got back to me almost immediately. The team of people who repaired and painted my house were fantastic. I'm so impressed with their attention to detail. Everywhere that there was pretty significant damage before now looks like it's always just been a perfectly normal part of the house. I could not be happier with the finished product. read more

I found Fresh Coat painters on Yelp, so I'm returning the favor. We could not be happier with the job that Justin and his crew did. They were so thorough and professional all the way through. And our house needed a lot of prep work due to peeling paint, mildew, dry rot, etc. We love it. Our neighbors love it. My family was totally floored. They said it looks like a completely different house. But don't take my word for it. Look at the photos to see what replacement windows and a good paint job can do. Thank you Justin! read more
