Do Good Farm located in Winter Garden, near the Roper YMCA, is doing more than good. They are changing lives across the globe, all while reducing our carbon footprint through regenerative, sustainable farming practices. Their small 1.5 acres farm is home to a luscious food forest, goats, chickens, hydroponic crops and so much more! They use no-till farming practices and no chemicals anywhere on the farm. The food grown is free of pesticides, herbicides, insecticides and harsh fertilizers. According to Owner/Operator, Josh Taylor (owner of HouseBlends Cafe in Ocoee) they are able to harvest foods year round and are partnering with communities across the world to help train them in these sustainable practices - hoping to end world hunger. Yes, they do offer a CSA where you can fill a crate every other week with fresh produce and eggs straight from the farm! BUT even more exciting than clean eating is their DINNER BELL. Do Good Farm hosts The Dinner Bell al fresco dining experience a few times a year in the "cooler" months. We attended the November 2020 Dinner Bell and were blown away by the beauty of this small but mighty local farm! We were greeted with a lovely cider spiced from their allspice plant on property. This is an interactive dining experience starting with a self-guided tour as you follow the romantic fairy lights through the food forest to two stations offering hot appetizers and wine pairings. Listen for the dinner bell and make your way to the main stage where Chef/Owner, Josh Taylor, prepares the two entree courses LIVE while also speaking about their mission and food practices (for example, why the grind the whole wheat grain to make flat bread and retain nutrients, etc...) Each course is served with a very nice wine pairing (Conundrum, Dreaming Tree, Josh, and others.) The sweetest part of the night is dessert served fireside, under the stars and beneath their gorgeous Neem tree (nature's bug repellent.) They highlight which ingredients used in each dish are from the farm - it seemed to me that more than 85%, maybe 90%, of the ingredients used were harvested directly from Do Good, cooked a served to us that day. The staff was so gracious, welcoming and worked tirelessly to ensure that every detail was on point. And as if trying to end world hunger wasn't thanks enough, each guest took home a "giveaway" - fresh farm eggs tied with a bow. The food was delicious and I even felt great the next morning even though we stuffed ourselves that night; which is a true testament to the quality of the food served. I cannot recommend enough that you go and experience Do Good Farm yourself! They offer farm tours, volunteer opportunities but if a lovely night out is your thing, sign up for the Dinner Bell! The proceeds from their CSA and The Dinner Bell go directly to their mission and to continue their work locally on the farm. We will be back to see what the evolving Dinner Bell menu produces in the Spring! Check out their website www.dogoodfarm.org for tickets and information!

That was about five months ago…read more Second time I went was two weeks ago, and I can't even give this place even one star as far as customer service and quality of their products. Might be because they're moving and selling their farm, that they don't give a crap right now but I spent $60 dollars there and got totally ripped off and would never go there again while these owners are still there. I'm just telling you guys this so that you don't get ripped off too. I bought wheat grass that was limp to begin with. It cost $20 for the tray. I told them I would take the wheat grass without the tray and could they do it for 15. She said yes and we put it in a bag. I took it right home, put it back on a tray and within one day it was smelling rotten. It was turning yellow and I had to throw it out. I sent her pictures. I told her and she told me it was because I took it off the tray to begin with and bought it without the tray, so why did she still sell it to me that way if that was true? Then I bought an aloe plant from them for $15. The plants were all cramped inside a pot and had root rot. I was gonna try to save a few of the aloe babies, but when I got home and started to remove the dead plant leaves, I realized that the whole plant was a big mess and I never should've bought it from them. I grow fresh herbs myself, but I did not have any mint at the time, so I purchased a mint plant. When I brought it home I took a picture of it and asked Google lens what it was since it had a really weird smell not like usual mint does and it told me that it was from the mint family but that it had a fungus, which is why it smelled really weird too, so I threw that out as well. That was another five dollars down the drain. I did buy eggs from Tracy, but I'm going to throw those out too because I just don't trust this lady on any level now because she did not respond to me as a professional who owns a business and who gives a crap about her customers. Again, I texted her the pictures and told her what happened and not one time did she apologize or offer to replace the items or credit me, she basically gaslit me by saying it was my fault for not purchasing the wheatgrass without their tray, ( which I would have had to return it out deposit on) Not one time did she apologize or offer to make this sale right or offer any understanding for my dissatisfaction. She's totally unprofessional and doesn't give a crap! Guess it's all about money to her. I just hope the poor cats and animals that are there get a really good owner after she's moved to Mt Dora. Hopefully someone that's compassionate and gives a crap about people as well as animals. I will definitely continue to support this great local business that has made things easier in a time when many things are harder. Edit: apparently the store front has closed (unrelatedly- they announced this coming change on January 8th due to a failed lease renewal) but the business is still running through their pick up at 8505 Silver Star Rd and online ordering.
