Bea took note of the areas in my back and legs that needed the most attention, and made sure to spend more time on them. She checked in with me to make sure the pressure was okay or asked if I needed more. My sore muscles felt so much better during and after. After the massage, Bea set up a sitting area with a pot of delicious tea for me. I took my time and relaxed there, and finished the whole teapot. The receptionist immediately recognized my name and confirmed my appointment time. Another receptionist apologised profusely for the minor delay in the start of my treatment. And, without looking at the reservations book, the receptionist not only knew that I wished a very strong massage but also asked if that was the service I desired or wished to change my mind. Good, solid start. I was a bit wary of the slightly worn slippers provided and chose to keep my socks on and ignore it. There was no tea or beverage station (which is always a thoughtful touch). Anyway, how was the treatment? My therapist was a "savage". She instinctively manipulated problem areas before I could even offer guidance on areas to tackle. The therapist clearly had a gift. The massage was an expertly delivered combination of nail-biting "torture" and soothing massage with stretches. That's good. I left feeling like a million dollars. I needn't have bothered: not only did my technician complete one foot without me noticing but also rendered the nails to perfection I had to stop working on my computer multiple times to see of the technician had fallen asleep: I could not feel a thing. And the nail job -- EASILY one of the best manicures I've ever enjoyed. If I was being really nitpicky I would mention that the sofa in reception has small stains on it, the little cup of water they offered just felt like an afterthought and the way the foot tub area is designed is awkward for men and taller women. This place is easy to miss as it is located above another store. You have to buzz an intercom system that looks quite residential. The interior is bright, clean, and tastefully designed. When I was there, the receptionist spoke minimal English but she was quite patient with my broken Spanish. The waxing rooms are located down the hall far away from the reception and nails area so you have complete privacy. My beautician was Lara who was very friendly. The wax they use here is incredible! It's very thick and velvety. It was by far the most painless waxing session I've ever experienced- and yes it was for everything down there. The price for "pubis sencer del tot" was only 18 euros- a bargain by US standards. Everything on the price list seemed very cheap compared to other places in Barcelona.
