This shop of largely overpriced kitchen equipment and accessories is aimed at people whose budget stretches to a cake stand. That's not to say that I don't love this shop to pieces - it's what Nigella Lawson wannabes like myself inspire to! The shop assistants here are a bit on the aloof side, so if you're looking for friendly service you're better off down the street at Jolly's. If you're looking for a present for a mother, grandmother or fancy friend this is a good start, then maybe nip along to Habitat for a slightly less pricey version.

They sell some lovely pieces of jewellery, really original and pretty. I think one of the best things is the books that they have in there, lots of different titles covering everything from fashion and holidays to gardening and etiquette very coffee table. Great vintage items for the home as well, kitchenware and living room items including furniture. They also have a kids section at the back, and sell christening tokens and wedding tokens etc.

Filled with everything you could ever want for a perfect Christmas - tree decorations, advent calendars, cards and lights - December 25th is a fun place to visit, especially if you're looking to take away a souvenir of the city. The best time of year to shop is in January - when they hold their annual sales. You may not want to think about Christmas by that point, but it's the perfect time to buy a bargain. I'm not entirely sure how they keep going all year long as I've sadly never seen the shop with more than a couple of customers in at a time. But it's definitely worth a visit if you're in need of some festive spirit.

As if Christmas isn't overrated enough, this sort of place reminds you that it's not so very far away that you'll have to put up with the family for another few days of absolute tedium. Inside, there's all the Christmas claptrap you can imagine, but unless it's December already, you really should be questioning why the hell your life isn't fulfilling enough to avoid buying a few odds and ends ahead of time. I described the cut I was looking for, and lucky for me they had lots of things cut that way. After trying on a lot of tops, dresses and coats, I ended up with the most amazing coat, made in Germany of all cotton. It is quite fashionable and also functional. It was expensive, but worth every penny. I also got wonderful feeling black leggings, a gorgeous dress from France, some very cool reading glasses and stylish and functional fingerless gloves with leather palms. They also have a home furnishing section, as well as a restaurant which I understand has delicious food. What a find !!!!!! This place is retail therapy at its best for someone who wants clothing with panache, somewhat avant grade, and somewhat bohemian. It might be my favorite all time clothing store!

I paid £7000 to have my house double glazed by Roman Windows, 2 years on and the bad workmanship…read morehas resulted in a front door that has dropped on its hinges so it wont lock properly and 3 or my windows have gaps so large around the edges that wind whistles through. I contacted them to get them to fix it and they said the year guarantee was up so I'd have to pay £50 an hour for them to fix their mistakes. Dan Phillips.
