I can't remember why we went in but once inside it was completely different to how I expected it to be. It is a really decent gift shop with a brilliant selection of stock - from cards ad wrapping paper to figurines (not tacky ones though, funky fashionable ones) and other funny stuff. Definitely was some stuff in there that I am going back to buy! The guy who owns it should change the sign on the front and make it more in keeping with what he stocks inside

Kind Thoughts is an independent little gift shop located along the busy high street of Kingswood,…read moreand they have a variety of bits and pieces for sale as well as a good selection of cards for all sorts of occasions. This is the kind of place where some of the stuff is very random and you wonder why anyone would buy it, but then other stuff is really lovely and could be perfect as a nice gift for someone's birthday. They are really good value here and you'll find that their cards are a lot cheaper than Clintons or the likes, and they are nicer too and more unique in my opinion. As it's a little independent business they don't generally put on special discounts and offers, but nothings too pricy anyway. The shop is very small inside, and the decoration is very basic, but they manage to fit quite a lot in here and it's just somewhere nice to have a little pop into and a browse around - even if you don't leave with anything. There's generally just one person working in here behind the till, and they like the company so in my experience they are very chatty and friendly - which a love about these kinds of shops. As well as cards and gifts they also sell an odd range of posters and calendars here, if this is what you're looking for. Basically it's a nice little light hearted shop that serves a purpose if your out to buy a small gift or a card, but they don't have much more on offer - give them a visit though if you're in the area.

To my surprise they have those cards but much more besides - they have lots of different styles of card, with the ruder/younger market near the back and the 'traditional' sort of cards that your nan buys at the front. In addition to the cards there is a few shelves on the right hand side of the shop with Thorntons goods for sale - great for an extra gift or a last minute gesture if you've forgotten an occasion and had to run to the local shops for a token gift! They also have the separate truffles and licquer chocolates under glass at the counter which you can choose from. All in all it's saved me many a trip to The Mall/Broadmead to buy a decent card so you should have a look before travelling further for birthday cards.

Unlike many other card shops, this place doesn't take the piss when it comes to card prices. You'll have no problem finding a half decent card here for under a pound. I say half decent since the quality of many of the cheaper cards aren't great, but what do you expect? And lets face it: most people bypass the card in favour of the adjoining present (if they're lucky enough to get one) anyway. Here you'll find cards for all occasions, from birthdays to christenings to condolences. Gifts such as soft toys can also be purchased.

The choice is quite staggering. I personally prefer the 50p card shop just down the road for the everyday card. Given that prices of commercial cards these days are very high as a rule, the Card Warehouse has a gratifyingly enonomic theme and most price tags are definately less than what you'd expect to pay in more high-end shops. There are also bargain sections where the cards are even cheaper, sometimes on a speciality seasonal offer and sometimes just random bargains. Also for sale here are the usual supplies of wrapping paper and gift boxes (though these are not as economical as the cards) and small sundry gift items, along with calendars and novelty items. As an extra bonus, you can buy filled helium baloons for any special occasion, just ask at the counter. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and the premises always clean and pleasant to browse around. A very useful shop - and usually my first (and only) call for individual greetings cards.
