I spent the weekend in Edinburgh and also took a day off to be able to apply for my Schengen visa. It was my 1st time in Edinburgh and love the city, but my long weekend did not turn out so perfect , just because I had such a bad experience at the french consulate. The doorman was rude and the consulate guy was even worse. Before I flew in to Edinburgh I had been trying to call and emailing the french consulate in Edinburgh, i just wanted to know if I could take back my passport with me since I will be needing it to fly back home. I didnt get any answers, i called they said to email..i emailed got a reply that was not the answer and when I was there they were not helpful and did not give any advice or answer when I asked, just plain rude. The way that guy told me to pull out and prepare my documents was just so rude, before I wanted to submit all my application and documents I just needed to be sure and neeed to ask that one question , if i am able to bring back my passport back with me or will it be replaced with the copy passport and stamped from the consulate, something like that. They didnt even seem to give me a chance to ask my simple question, instead they just asumed i was not ready and told me to go..how could i be ready when they didnt even give any answers.. They kept telling me to look online on the website...which the site is not even clear. Oh well i guess I defenitely wont apply my visa from any french consulate ever. No wonder french people are knwon to be rude, now i know and have experienced it. read more
