Moving is stressful enough on its own. Unfortunately, working with Freeway Relocation Van Lines turned our move into a living nightmare. During the sales process, the sales representative specifically told me that our furniture would be moved directly from Texas to North Carolina and would not be stored. He also represented that Freeway works with trusted, reliable moving companies and consistently works with the same companies. Those representations were a major reason I chose Freeway. Unfortunately, our experience was very different. The truck that arrived to pick up our furniture was not large enough to accommodate everything. Freeway attempted to find a larger truck that same day but was unable to do so. Our belongings were ultimately transferred between different moving companies and stored, rather than being moved directly from Texas to North Carolina as we were told. The moving crews we ultimately dealt with also did not match the professional, trusted experience that was represented during the sales process. The movers did not appear to be professional moving crews, and I was particularly concerned with how the labor was sourced and handled. Communication and customer service throughout the process were extremely disappointing. What we were told when we hired Freeway and what actually happened were two very different experiences. I'm sharing this review so others researching Freeway can make an informed decision. Before hiring them, I strongly recommend getting in writing exactly who will be moving your belongings, whether your shipment can be transferred or stored, and who will actually be providing the labor. BUYER BEWARE!!! Absolute bait and switch. They provide a quote for a rate based on the items you told them would be on the truck. Once the driver shows up, they charge additional saying you have more than what you told them. In addition, they want to charge $95 for "Special Handling" for EACH item that has any form of glass on it and DID NOT disclose this when providing the quote. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! read more

Worst company I've ever worked with. Their agent convinced me to book in July for a future move even though I didn't have a concrete move date. They gave me a flat rate of $1,000 to move in state and told me the only way they would honor that rate was if I booked immediately, so I did. HUGE MISTAKE. I changed my move date in their portal twice from 7/30 to 8/30 and then again to 9/30. When the second move date rolled around, they sent me a NASTY email saying they had tried THREE times to contact me (NEVER received a call, text or email) and that my account was on hold. When I responded to that, saying I had ZERO missed calls or voicemail from them, they said the rate was $1,600, not $1,000. I refuted by telling them they are poor business owners and that they were trying to scam me, which it absolutely seems they are. They know they're a scam so they backed out on our agreement and said they are refunding my deposit. Now I'm three weeks from my move and have no movers. Thanks so much, Freeway. Bottom line up front, do not engage this company. If I could give them 0 stars I would. My sisters and I needed to move our mother from an apartment to an assisted living facility with short notice. My older sister began a search for moving companies and Moving Reservations Corp popped up. She went through the process with them in that they were to engage a local moving company to move our mother. When the contract was sent to her it required payment via wire transfer or other electronic cash payment. Credit cards were not accepted at all. This should have been the first red flag. The DEPOSIT was $593 with the balance of $770.90 due later. $1300+ to move a one bedroom apartment a few miles seemed high but we were short on time and I sent the deposit. When the moving day arrived, my sister was contacted by some clown that said he couldn't rent a truck because his credit card was refused and he couldn't reach his boss. Clearly not a professional moving company. My sister called a local company and they were able to move my mother for less than the deposit on the day she called. We were very fortunate in that respect. You would think that my sister would be able to get our deposit back given that Moving Reservations Corp didn't actually fulfill their contract by providing professional movers at the date and time contracted. You'd be wrong. She has written them requesting the refund of the deposit. She has filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the Wyoming state Attorney Generals Office. They have sent letters to Moving Reservations Corp but have gotten no reply and apparently can't do more. I don't think we will ever see the $593 dollars that we paid them for the deposit but I hope that this review prevents others from making the same mistake. read more

I give this company a big fat ZERO! They push you to sign a contract right away, giving you a $500 credit. The guy you talk to is very convincing and they do actually have some good reviews on Google, they have to be fake. They claim to be a contractor who finds movers that accommodate your needs. Sure! They talk a big talk. What they don't tell you is that in the fine print of their 8 page contract, there is not much there that they promise, and they also promise you a flat fee. Once they go over your inventory over the phone, they quote you a price. The man swears there is no additional fee, no extra costs, no mileage, fuel, etc. That's a fat lie! They promised me a local mover. I lived in Southern Illinois. They sent Shields Movers & Staffers which is based in Virginia but sent men from Pennsylvania! They promised two trucks, only 1 came. They promised at least 4 men, I did get that, until the last move. They promised it would all be moved in one day. It was a 4 1/2 hour drive to my new home. It took two loads and two days. The movers damaged and broke several items, tore up the linoleum floor in the house I was moving out of, broke light bulbs, a glass lamp shade, and scratch marks on several pieces. The second load one of the workers and main boss got in an argument and the worker took off walking away from the job. When the movers got to my new home to unload, there were only 3 of them. I was informed that the one that left had been let go because he wouldn't stay off his phone. So, there were only 3 to unload, not 4 as planned. They informed me they had worked over the required amount of hours and it was an extra $250 per hour! I was quoted a flat fee, no additional charges! This whole move was a cluster and I would not recommend Moving Reservations Corp or Shields Movers & Staffers based out of Virginia to anyone! read more
