Worst customer service ever. When I called they answer the phone said please wait and left me waiting for over half an hour...called again and was telling the woman about the person that left me waiting...she hung up on me, called again and finally could make the payment but guy was also rude....it's unbelievable how this rude brokers are allowed to treat clients....I'll be changing insurance broker soon! read more

Genuinely a POS business. They are straight up scamming people. I already wrote this review once and then mysteriously disappeared. I'm an additional owner to my dad's policy since January 13, 2026. I have been sending you money to cover my car just to find out that you got the wrong year and the VIN number of my car and then the silly little woman on the phone is saying that they can't reimburse us because after they fix their mistake and now cost more, were you dropped on your head miss? I have been giving you money for five months now for a car that's not mine. My car was uninsured and if I were to get stopped or get into an accident, I will be uninsured. You bet your bottom, fucking dollar you are so lucky that I am not the original policy holder cause I would shut this whole bitch down. I'm also reporting this business to the California department of insurance. read more

Imposible to file a claim. Only way to get a hold of somone is to make a payment. Very disappointed!

Grateful for the help I received from Lesley Van Meter! She quickly updated my account and was able to save me some money. Top tier talent!

Great service!! Thank you Erika Velasquez, you were so helpful in getting me a great insurance rate! She was very knowledgeable and persistent in her services. Great job read more

Do not recommend this place. I don't know what type of insurance they use but they suck, my car was stolen and the insurance they helped me get "did not cover under my plan" so I'm still paying 500 a month for a car I don't have and they were NO help whatsoever. If you need to save money don't even come here. Please go somewhere else. They will for sure help you more then here. read more

Very disappointed for trying to save some money went to the worst place had a claim that took more than 3months to be solve they treated me like i was the criminal and when i wanted to take one of my cars off they wanted to charge me $70 just to remove a car from my policy very unfortunate read more

worst customer service ever!! I was hung up on when I was trying to make a payment, the representatives are very rude and condescending . I think it may be family owned or a scam idk but I would never get insurance here again read more

Please be careful with this insurance company and do your research. My father explicitly requested to be sold a commercial policy. Unfortunately, they took advantage of my father who knows a bit of English and was sold a non commercial policy. He was charged $440 dollars for policy that does not extend any coverage for the kind vehicle he drives. It's been a headache to get my father reimbursed!! Freeway insurance do better at training your agents!! read more

stay away from this insurance as a human/friend i want to help all of you so you guys don't be in the same problems that Ive faced, this is the worst insurance with very disrespectful and bad people they don't help you in nothing they just want to take your money, I think their will be no more worthier or liar company other then this. read more

We are not lying about this place, they are liars! Let's be honest you're here cuz your broke as fuck and need some cheap insurance. DONT COME HERE! They will lie to your face about hidden fees. We had Naiellie sit us down acting all friendly and I looked into the eye socket of this women are there hidden fees and she said no and she talked about how she get commission every time you come into to pay your bill and insisted since we were local to come in every month to pay so she could get her commission. Turns out if you pay in person they charge you a fee which I know how goes to her... but if you pay online there's no fee. Don't even get me started on the policy cuz it's a total rip off, don't fall for that upsell. This place is so unprofessional, I've never seen a place hire a guy who still thinks he's in highschool and speaking in Ebonics on his phone talking about bitches as the branch manager!? read more

Stay away they are liars! My agent told me i have to pay for the first month and last month of my insurance policy but later on I received a bill for the first month of my policy and I figured he took 300 for himself as an agent fee and the rest was only to start my policy! And at the end i had to pay for the month and half and i canceled my policy with this liars. They took almost 1000$ from me. DO NOT TRUST ! read more

A little story. I came in after hearing about Freeway insurance through the radio looking for a better/cheaper policy for my vehicle. One of the employees ran my report and gave me a quote. They did their job, found me a cheaper provider and ran everything with me. I eventually signed with Stonewood insurance which Freeway had quoted to be a lot cheaper than my current insurance at the time. I paid the downpayment of nearly $400 and Freeway had actually told me this downpayment will go to my next bill. (I will explain this shortly). After I signed papers about a month later I received my first bill with Stonewood. This is where everything just became a mess. The first bill was considerably much higher than what I had signed for and what was originally quoted to me by Freeway. I called Stonewood and asked them what the problem was and they had mentioned that Freeway insurance had quoted me incorrectly. Apparently they did not count one of the two accidents I had in my history. I ask that I be taken off the policy because of the incorrect report that Freeway insurance ran however. Stonewood politley agreed to my decision and when I asked how much of my downpayment will be refunded to me they told me $57 and umteen cents will be returned. I asked them that cant be right because I paid nearly $400 to Freeway insurance who told me that the downpayment will be sent to my premium. Stonewood suggested I call Freeway to ask where the rest were. So here I am calling Freeway, frustrated about the false quote they had orignally ran by me. I told them what the issue was and demanded my refund. Heres were the shady business comes into play, aside from the false quote that they ran and the contract I had signed (because of the false quote) Freeway told me that they owe me nothing. Apparently FreewayInsurance didnt lie when they said that the downpayment was going to my first bill, however what they failed to mention was that they charged over $300 for their services. Of course this was my fault because I should've known Freeway would charge me money since they are brokers. However, I did not realize how much they would charge! And to top it all of this was not mentioned. I went home, went through all my papers and there I saw in the small fine print how much they actually charged. A bit of a warning, 1)make sure the quote they run is real! They will pull any tricks out of their hats to make you sign that paper. 2) be aware of the ridiculous high fee they charge that they do not verbally mention! 3) Yes your downpayment will go to your first months bill, however only a small portion of that is actually going to your insurance! 4) Remember these are Brokers, they will find an insurance company for you and thats all. If you want, you can walk in, ask for a quote and they will give you an insruance provider, tell FreeWay that you are actually not interested in signing. Go home, call the insurance provider they had quoted you on and sign with them personally. Bam, free business without the ridiculous $300+ fee 5)Report any bad business to the Better business bereu. BBB.org Stay away from them. Peroid. read more

I just wanted to say that I am very satisfied with the great customer service that Deisy provided me with. I went into the Freeway insurance office in El Cerrito and there customer service was in my opinion terrible. I wanted to remove a car from my policy and for some reason the rep couldn't figure out how so he decided to go about it a different way which was faxing a paper directly to my insurance company. Where Deisy comes in- I received a phone call from Deisy who works at the San Leandro office because they had received a call from me the day prior and basically she was checking in. I told her that I had already gone to their El Cerrito office and had removed a vehicle from my policy and I also told her that I didn't feel the customer service was great, that they had trouble removing my car and I was frustrated. We hang up, she calls back to let me know that they didn't remove the car from my policy, that they had put an incorrect policy number that didn't match with mine. Deisy took care of everything for me without me even anticipating her to go through and make sure things were done right. She deserves recognition for that. Thats what you call doing your job right and truly caring. Thank you Deisy! read more

I downloaded this app just to write this. This company is the worst insurance company I've ever dealt with! Their brokers provide misleading information and give you insurance based on incorrect applications being submitted to the partner companies. They have horrible customer service representatives that also give misleading information and give you the run around if you have any pressing issues your trying to resolve. All the did was take my money and give me problems on top of problems. I would advise to never deal with this company even if it was your last resort. They really need to make a negative star option because they would get -5. read more

I would advise anybody that deals with this company to really ask a lot of question, I feel that they tricked me with the paper work, I call to set up arrangements for the broker fee and they did not stand by the arrangment, I was suppose to pay 100.00 1st Thursday and then 100.00 the following Thusday, but they took the whole 200.00 on Tuesday. They also told me that my monthly payments would be 149.00 a month, but when I got the first bill it showed I had to pay 198.00 per month. That is a big difference in what they told me. 500.00 dollars more a year. I WOULD NOT DO BUSINESS WITH COMPANY EVERY AGAIN. AND ONCE AGAIN BE CARFUL WHEN DEALING WITH THESE PEOPLE. ALL THEY WANT IS YOUR MONEY AS FAST AS THEY CAN GET IT LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS. read more

Please don't fall from this freeway (fake) insurance.. yeah they say they're cheap but they will scam you and screw you over in the end.. I hope they shut this company down.. good thing I left them before i start being on debt.. 1st they're very unprofessional .. 2nd they will make so much excuses and put you back on hold.. 3rd you're not really covered by them and will make you pay the rest of the bill if you file a claim from them.. 4th they will just take your money away.. Please before going to this fake insurance read the reviews. My advice is get your car insurance that is known like Statefarm, AAA, Geico, and etc. Im really serious its not worth it.. read more

I heard about their $15 dollar a month auto insurance and bit into the scam immediately. Who doesn't want to pay less for car insurance, especially when your note is relatively high. But let me tell you it's nothing like that at all. When I got there they fed me this bullshit story about my meeting certain qualifications etc... Told me that my insurance will only be roughly $50 a month, however I must put down $265 plus to start. Come to find out freeway insurance is not an insurance company at all but rather one of many people involved in the contract that your money is going to. When I canceled only two weeks later I was informed that I owe $50 cancellation fee....Wow!!! Then when I got my bill in the mail it was for $83. Please don't get involved with these people they're crooks, liars, and will only trick you out of your hard earn money. read more

They have the worst customer service. They seem like they are helping you but they are not. Your best bet is to find insurance your self. Out of 376.00 100.00 only went to the insurance they gave. Oh no... no option to give them zero stars...They suck...it's a scam , a fake company. My experience : I got an phone call from them saying its special discount week , I am lucky...really , The rep asked for 300 dollars as agents fees excluding monthly insurance from a third party company to which i denied , she asked how much i can pay as agent fees to which i agreed for 150 dollars(that's cray too) ,so i did some paper work online they got my credit card info I paid like 180 dollars total that day and 10 days later my card got charged 155 dollars again when inquired they said it was pending balance which i agreed to pay later..but the thing is i never agreed as the deal was 150 dollars after calling and explaining everthing the rep(this time a guy) says he cannot do anything and can revert 50 dollars at max stating it as overdraft fee revert. I am still waiting for that 50 dollar pay order till date. My advice: Don't run behind such agents which charge you 300 dollars as agent fees, but how could you realize it when they never mention it (they hide it) and will keep repeating things which you would like to hear like 'discount' alteast 20 times and end up pay more than you thought...seriously go for well known Insurance companies who will charge 5 dollars extra every month but you will be saving and assured that your claims will accepted. read more

Sometimes you can smell a bad deal before a person begins talking. 1stly, the agent looked like she had just rolled out of bed & her attitude was similar to one who was on their way out the door anyway (nonchalant & lacked professionalism). I was quoted over the phone only for my car, I wasn't asked any questions about my history. I walked in prepared to pay something similar to my quote. However, I would've been charged double, damn near triple had I stayed. The unprofessional agent tried to portray as though I didn't understand what she was saying. My job as a customer was to get the best deal possible FOR ME, as I pressed for a better deal, she on a couple of occasions cross referenced with 2 separate policies as one (her bad, but my money was on the line). Then I became very alert, remaining positive. I told her I'd like to go home make a couple of calls then return if I couldn't get a better deal. She portrayed as though there couldn't be a better deal out there. Got up, told her manager I was "about to walk", they got another guy to help her but instead she disappeared for 8 mins. In her absence the other guy said he'd be right with me, he "looked" confident, so I sat about another 2 mins. The unprofessional / nonchalant agent returned, the guy was gonna jump in to help but the agent was adamant about not needing his help. You better believe my alert button was super buzzing in my head. By this time I was sure I didn't want to do business with Freeway Ins. Something kept telling me to follow my 1st mind about not doing business with them off the bat immediately after the intro with that agent & boy am I glad I did, I went to Dollar insurance on Pendleton in Oakland, Yep, I paid a little higher on my down payment only $50 ($200 down with my 2 pts) but my monthly bill is about $15 cheaper than Freeway. Just a side note/rant from my experience: I'm a stickler for professionalism & if I'm gonna get the shaft, I at least want to feel good about it. Someone telling me they've been doing their job for over 10yrs then tell me I'm "not understanding" what they're saying when they're the one mixing info from 2 different policies probably shouldn't say that to anyone. Showing up Monday for work looking like you just rolled out of bed, sipping coffee from a dirty paper mug & getting smug with a caller in front of a "potential" customer says a lot about how you feel about your job. As a customer, I didn't feel valued. I stayed positive, taking my same attitude to a different company & got a better deal. HA! maybe it was my attitude, lol. Advice to any agent: Smile, be confident in the information you're providing. And don't be so damn money hungry. Oh & prepare the night before for work. Even if it is a Monday. I couldn't have felt better about leaving that place, on to a better deal through a different broker. read more

Recently, I wrote some reviews about Freeway Insurance. I am writing this review because, during the time after that, I was contacted by Freeway Insurance, and the matter was settled. I'd like to say that I appreciate Mike, contacting personally, and offering to resolve the issue. The issue has been resolved. I will say this: ALWAYS, ALWAYS...ALWAYS get a clear understanding of what is defined by the business as a refundable. if there are fees outside of the principal cost of the business or service, that may or may not be refundable. I'd like to thank Freeway Insurance for their willingness to re-evaluate their decision. read more

Poor service. Careless with customer's concerns. Leave you on hold for hours. The agents are irresponsible.

I had a question about my driving record, the red hair girl Niyeli that sits in the front tells me I'm suppose to go to the dmv to get a print out because the insurance place gets charged $25. Aren't they suppose to get it for free was my question and the guy that gave me a print out from the dmv said the same thing. Came back, they tell me I have to wait a year for my renewal.. Ok? I did all that s*** for no reason! Wasted my day at the dmv plus coming back and forth to this insurance place. This is ridiculous.. If she had knew how to do her job this issue wouldn't have occurred! Instead of showing ppl out the door to do something that's going to take 2-3 hrs, ask someone who knows what they are doing. Zero stars is more like it! I had no help at all today read more

Thanks for saving me from stonewood insurance they were terrible didnt care about the service the rates were high never going back

Worst place ever! They scam you for your money and are so rude! One of the managers said that if I wrote a review and give them a 5 star rating, they would discount my rate. I mentioned to the girl Maria that I was not too sure about purchasing this particular insurance company and wanted to keep browsing. The young girl asked for my personal information to find a quote and unfortunately, I was not happy with the current offers. The young girl insisted on helping me and said that I needed to show proof of a debit card? I asked why and she said it was nessecerry. I was hesitant about giving my debit card number, However, the young girl repeatedly said that my card would not be charged for anything. To make the long story short, after sitting in the office for over an hour, I decided not to go with the insurance. After discussing this matter with the young girl, I thanked her for her time and exited shortly after. Two days later, I noticed that the insurance company that asked for my debit card number for reference, literally charged my account in the amount of $700.00!!!! Mind you, I didn't even purchase a insurance plan!!! I attempted to call them several times and speak with a manager and they said that the manger was gone for the day, in a meeting, on lunch or is off of work on vacation. My bank even attempted to contact them numerous times on several occasions and also received no response. I had to file a fraudulent activity claim and received my money back after 3 weeks!!!!! Never ever do business with this company!!!! They will steal your money like they did me, my mom and my brother. If I would of known that my family was also scammed by them before, I would have never stepped foot in the door. Please, do yourself a favor and stay away from this company. read more

I always deal with agent Anthony... My experience has been nothing but positive. As a "can't happen to me" teenager, I developed a terrible driving record... Nonetheless, I was still able to get reasonable coverage that I could afford. As for the customer service, Anthony always has time for my questions. He's always very honest with me and doesn't seem to get frustrated by my need to understand exactly what I'm signing up for. The office atmosphere is open and not "insurancy." read more
