This is a good place to come to pick pumpkins. It's located in Galena, off of Sunbury road. It's a small farm, so not many activities to do like places such as Leeds Farm and Lynd's Fruit Farm, but good for coming to get a pumpkin. They are priced per pound (.45 cents in October 2022). There are wagons but you'll have to wait until people who are loading their pumpkins into their cars bring them back after unloading. You pick out your pumpkins and go inside the market and weigh them, and then pay. Inside the market you can also get tickets for the activities. We only did the hayride ($3 per person) and got some kettle corn, which, I don't really like kettle corn but it was really good! It was only a 25 minute drive from us (Gahanna) so, definitely worth the trip.

While your down there your using a provided map to guide yourself around and match the corresponding areas ( Ex; A to A or 1-1 ) We went after it had just rained the night before, so everything was VERY wet. Wear waterproof/walking shoes if you plan on exploring. Be prepared to get dripped on by very cold water coming off nearby rocks, and the "ceiling". Coming down the initial very steep stairs is a beautiful view of different levels of rocks decending into a tunnel/cave where the rest of the cavers are. Tons of puddles all over the ground from collected rain water and the "droplets". Most the areas are about big enough for one person to walk through the tunnel areas at one time, and if your a larger person i DO NOT recommend going down there. Some areas are extremely tight and really only accessible to someone under 4'5 and around 100 pounds or less. (Im 5'4, 140 and some areas i almost got stuck cause it was too tight going through the rocks. It is neat to see though, i dont think id want to do it again as it is just wet rocks and the furthest tunnel was closed from the previous year that occurred from some heavy rain water. (The water collected, over time causing a collapse). So that was kind of a bummer but i get it for safety reasons. The gem mining was fun, definitely loaded with a lot of "gravel" type rocks so that was new for me, Ive only ever had ones with dirt/sand that yield rocks/gems/shark teeth. We found some really interesting gemstones in each tray. The petting zoo was great. I thought it wad Going to be boring and smelly, and i was happily wrong. The goats were adorable, when we came in a baby jumped through the fence and was following our group. And when we came inside the "pen" to pet them he ran back in it was very cute! The deer were a little skittish but very sweet and gentle. The treasure hunt/maze was VERY fun we enjoyed getting different prizes snd trading them within the group.

Every volunteer is knowledgeable and friendly. What a wonderful organization to have in our Central Ohio community -- and we are all the luckier for it. The fest is worth it at $10 per person, in my opinion. It helps support the center and that's a win. They have programming all year. Just be sure to get tickets early, as they get popular! For the bargain price of $4 per person, I was expecting to spend approximately 30-40 minutes in a room learning about the syrup making process. Being wrong never felt so good! Having a reservation which I had paid for in advance, we checked in promptly where they suggested we borrow some of their boots due to muddy conditions & that proved needed as the terrain deiced. How awesome is that! Once everyone had their boots on we met fireside where our guide introduced herself, provided history of their facility & informed us of what to expect during our experience. Next stop: animal barn! Being the animal lover that I am, this was my absolute favorite part. Not only did I not know that this was included (bonus!), but I was so grateful to be able to get up close to the new calf & her mommy & see the oh so pregnant piggie. Even better we got to get in the sheep pin & the goat/llama pins where we could pet these adorable creatures. My heart was so happy I almost never wanted to leave, but it was time to move onto our next adventure... maple syrup! The walk from the animal barn to the maple syrup area was about 20 minutes. I imagine this varies based on weather conditions & the amount & ages of those on your tour. The scenery was absolutely breath-taking as the sun peeped through the leafless trees, casting beautiful shadows about. There was a dusting of snow on the ground & a crisp, icy terrain on the ground & the creek. As we walked we stopped periodically to learn about how to identify maple trees, the variety of maple trees in our area & all about how the seasons impacts the process. We got to see the process firsthand & I was surprised to see that the sap is clear. Once we arrived at the cabin we learned about the filtration system and the science of the sap to syrup process where we got to tast the sap & then the syrup. It is absolutely delicious & pure in taste without the senseless added sugar commonly found in those found in stores. Another interesting & entertaining moment came when we were shown how hot stones were placed in water inside a hollowed-out log. This experience delivered a lot of bang for your buck & it felt really good to support this local working farm. I am going to be sure to check their website for future events to explore.

We first stopped in at the farmer's market, which is located on the corner and has its own parking lot. It had some fun features like classic big chairs for photos and the like. The market itself is packed with tons of produce, goodies, and souvenirs, both inside and outside, including different flavored seasonal donuts, which were delicious! A little bit further down the street is the section with classic autumnal farm fun activities: corn mazes (two - including a mini one for the kids), pick your own produce (apples were ready at the time of our visit, and we enjoyed perusing the orchard), barrel ride, zip line, play area, and apple cannons, which were a blast! A variety of snacks are available for purchase at the snack shop. This area has its own parking available.
