Apologies for the long post, but this contractor is the worst! We contracted a fence job with Jimmy…read moreCrowder aka Mr. Jimmy's Renovations. I wish I had known at the beginning that he wasn't reliable. But live and learn. Interestingly, when the project wasn't able to be completed because he failed to order the correct amount of materials, he initially blamed "my attitude." My attitude was attributed to several things;
1. The original quote was for a fence no longer in stock so several weeks in we had to give him more money for a fence that was in stock. Ok it was a mistake, moved on.
2. The "fence" started coming in pieces to our home not to the Home Depot store and then one morning my doorbell right at 7:15 am, when I answer the door there a huge box truck out front and the gentleman at my door tells me that he has our fence material and we need to take it from the truck to wherever we want it placed. Now my attitude is pissed. We were told Home Depot would deliver it and unload it. I'm 63, my husband is 69, we go out to unload it. Thankfully my son-in-law and my grandson who are currently living with us helped.
3. The finally show up on 7/1 to start the fence, 2 guys arrive at 10:00 am, the guy in charge leave at 11:30 am and the other guy sits in the wheelbarrow until 1:00 pm when the guy in charge comes back. They complete 1 panel and leave. My attitude is WTH! Next day is better the complete a line of fence.
4. On the 3rd the guy in charge (who does know what he's doing and did a nice job putting up the 2/3 of the fence) tells me we have to talk about material. Ok, they didn't have enough to complete the fence to my specifications. What? How is that even possible? So, ok get me the cost to complete the fence. Meanwhile they tell my daughter that they're only going to complete part of the fence because that's what I told them, no, I told them the new fence would be in the exact same footprint as the fence that was present when they @started. Suffice it to say this went back and forth and we told them to finish for the day, paid for the labor for their week according to Mr. Crowder's calculations and asked them not to return.
5. Mr. Crowder calls my husband the next day and threatens to put a lien on our home because we owe him money. The day prior both myself and my husband asked him multiple times if he was sure with the labor numbers before I wrote the check, multiple times he said yes. Then he changed his mind. I called a lawyer. We stopped all communication with Mr. Crowder. Now my attitude is absolutely fuming. He comes to my home, I had left, and tells my daughter that he has completed 240' of fence and that's all he's going to do and this is all my fault because of my attitude.
Here's the problem, he only ordered 200' of fence, he didn't order enough posts to even complete that. Then he goes out back and takes pictures. Then I get a phone call, can we talk, he's really sorry about the communication, etc. I give him another chance, he comes over, we talk I explain why I have an attitude which basically resulted from his inability to manage my project. He apologizes, he says "I want to make this right, I'm sorry." He said he miscalculated the guys time and $565 is still owed. If that got paid he would order the remainder and finish the fence with the foreman. At the end we'd owe $500 for the completion. Blah, blah, blah. ALL BULLSHIT!! Unfortunately after I sent him a Venmo for the $565 he never ordered the fence, never followed up and he ghosted us after that. I highly recommend you DO NOT USE this guy. He's not a nice person and he doesn't finish the job!
I've ordered the material and Sal & Sean will finish it and install the gates. Thankfully we're able to do this, not everyone would be able to and would have to find someone else to come in to clean up his mess. And yes they did leave all their garbage!
