My wife and I both found Freedom Firearms to be a very professional, well organized business entity. She had never handled a pistol before and both Tiffany and Marc were accommodating and helpful. We had first spoken to their salesperson Tim and he was very thorough in walking her through a variety of handgun options, then showing me a lineup of AR's. Tiffany then suggested my wife sign up for their beginner class to understand the safety aspect of handling firearms and then sample a range of calibers and pistol operating types. The class and instruction were exactly what was needed to make an informed decision about handgun type and caliber. Marc is very stern and focused on safe gun handling and his class instructions are firm and decisive, offering different scenarios and examples to keep the class interesting, yet instructional. A new pistol was purchased along with a class on understanding this firearm, both operation and handling. Range time was include with each class, so you can get comfortable with handling and firing the weapon. Marc's instruction was very well managed and conducted, leaving my wife with a better understanding for safely and handing her new gun. As well, I managed to purchase an AR too! Overall, we found this business and the personnel to be very accommodating, friendly, helpful, and in tune to the customer. They are experts on their merchandise and offer a full range of educational options for both beginner and seasoned shooters. I stopped in while shopping for my 1st handgun, and will never return. I was looking to also buy one for my wife; which is disappointing because I was looking forward to using the indoor range. It took about 5 mins to be acknowledged in a place so quiet you could hear a rat piss on cotton. There were 5 people in the store area. The 2 working, a guy that walked in ahead of us, myself, and my wife. The guy that walked in just before we did wasn't asked to lower his mask, and look at the camera. He also lacked melanin. There was a female employee that came over to us to "help". She immediately made us pull our masks down, and look directly into the camera. I asked her about a specific gun, and she laughed in my face as if I was telling a joke; and then makes a comment about them being hard to get. I had just left XZ Guns, and they had 3 of that specific gun brand new for $425. She quickly took that smile off her face when I said I'm not sure what's so funny when I just left a shop with a few of them. Then she remembered they had just gotten one in that was used. When she brought it out, and I saw the price; I quickly left! It was over $600. I was hoping to find a shop that I could buy from and be able to shoot also, but I wouldn't spend a penny with them! Their selection is pretty decent and they will take time to help you with your needs. The range is super fun and not to pricey. For being a smaller business they are awesome! They are always friendly even when they are busy. I have been using the shooting range for several months and have always been treated very well. It has a laid back environment good for those new to shooting and shooting ranges. I have also made several purchases, again very helpful and they want to make sure you are getting what you need not just what you ask for. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Absolute worse service I've ever experienced in my entire life. We drove 2 hours from Indianapolis to freedom firearms to purchase multiple things. Upon entering the store everything seemed to be fine, I had a buddy of mine who is a person of color, be asked to get out of the store because he "smelled like marijuana". Not one thing was said to either of us, just him. They then told him he would not sell anything to him because of that and told him to leave the store. Not a single person smoked weed and the person they asked to leave and wouldn't sell to doesn't even smoke. Extreme racial profiling. We all came in together. No one said anything to us (the other two people) who aren't people of color. I will not be returning and I would not recommend this place to anyone I know. read more

RUDE! 4 employees (2 men 2 women) and all of them were COMPLETE jerks... unless you have a penis apparently. I've NEVER been treated so poorly before and I won't spend one cent at this place. Came in looking for ammo and stood AT the registers only to have the employees look *around* me to the men BEHIND me who they ended up helping, even though I had been standing there!! I was shaking I was so furious! They went through 2 people who were in line, BEHIND me. The male employee heard me ask the female employee if there was a line to buy ammo, thinking maybe I wasn't in the right place or something and her response was it goes to whoever says yes when asked who's next. BULLSHIT. I've been standing there for 15 minutes!! The older male employee literally looked OVER MY DAMN SHOULDER to the man standing right behind me and said "NEXT" I threw my hands up and looked at the third male customer like... "are you going to jump in front of me too?" Thankfully he saw what had been happening and let me go! When I told the old man I needed help *clearly I'm flustered* and I read off my husbands text (what he wanted me to buy) the older employee looked at me like I was an idiot. I am torn between 3 or 4 stars. Five of us went to Freedom Firearms for the indoor range. The lady that checks you in, although super friendly, was extremely slow! She also didn't know the prices correctly for renting a gun. Another employee joined us and was extremely helpful! He was nice and discussed all of the terms. Although he helped speed things along a bit, it still took us about an hour before we actually were able to get into the range. As we were leaving, the lady still hadn't inputted our information into the system, so we had to wait some more. In the end, what we thought would be a little over an hour, was a 2.5 hour ordeal. The range itself is nice and clean. Good place to practice. Also, their targets are super small. I would say bring your own if you can. read more

Waited for 45 mins to see if they had 454 casull ammo before walking out without being waited on. Other also walked out. I usually avoid this place like the plague, because they have always been rude DBs going all the way back to the early 90's when they called themselves h&h firearms. Stopped in with my fiancé and browsed the selection of guns/knives/accessories. I was impressed with their assortment for women because as a lady interested in firearms, it's hard to come by places with a wide selection of purses and holsters. Im giving four instead of five stars because while we were there, none of the employees really acknowledged us other than with head nods. I do understand that they were busy and it's hard to keep up with customers coming in and out constantly. Wow is all I can say about this place!!! Never been here before just Googled the best place to sell guns in town and freedom firearms came up. Well let me tell you Google is maybe a little off on this one. I took a gun that retails everywhere you look for $850 dollars and the very rude lady at the counter makes a phone call and comes at me with an offer of $100 dollars!!! I'm in shock these people are in business with that kind of attitude and that way of doing business. Then on my other gun I had brought in she offered me $250 dollars when I just looked on there web site before I walked in the door of the place and the exact same pistol there selling for $550 dollars. I understand it is a business and they are there to make money but those offers for both those guns were absolutely ridiculous and I will never ever step 1 foot in that place again. Tried to put 3 targets in the indoor range, and set up to fire from a single lane. nobody else there. Blond gal tells me "only one target". I asked if I left my weapon in an unsafe way and she said no. I asked if I missed something in the rules she said no again. So I wasn't being unsafe, nor doing anything against the posted rules. I am disappointed that my order has taken so long with them and wish there was a way for them manually or even a computer system to track progress. It generally takes a couple days as I was told but it's been a full week at this point. I am disappointed but I also spoke to the owner and understand the current situation and why things might be held up. He was very courteous and candid with me. IIf today would have been my first day going to Freedom Firearms I would never step my foot in there again. The other salesmen have always treated me with dignity and respect but today I was waited on by A Man Named Dave and he was as rude & condescending as they come. I have been in there before and was waited on by Joel and also took a class with him and he was wonderful. I was in there a month ago and was waited on by a man named Jason and a man that I don't know his name but he always brings his dog there and they both were wonderful. But this guy Dave today soured me and would have kept me from ever having dealings with Freedom Firearms again had it not been for the other wonderful employees that I have had good dealings with. read more

Just made my first firearm purchase from this place yesterday after two previous visits. The first visit they were very friendly and helpful, still visibly showed me some guns even though I was under 21 at the time and could not hold them. Friendly staff took my daughter there she got a cut and the lady there took care of her staff seemed nice. My gun seemed to lock up and the man looked at and made sure it was safe to use. Had a wonderful time looking at guns and shooting at the range. read more

I've seen a lot of negative reviews on this place from a couple of years ago, but my experience with them yesterday was outstanding. After a heroin addict made two attempts to break into my mother's home, I opted to buy her a firearm. We walked in, and a younger man opted to help us. When asked for advice, rather than speaking to me, he explained everything directly to her precisely, simply, and respectfully. The older gentleman responsible for the indoor range was very welcoming. Upon hearing that my mother had just been through a home invasion, they made an effort not to come off as intimidating. The price was nothing to scoff at, but the service, information, and instruction was worth the price, and the salesman was entirely willing to compromise on the cost where he could. We walked away with a Ruger SP101, 50 practice rounds, 25 home defense rounds (.38 special), a leather belt holster, & a barrel snake for about $780. They also provided my mother with information on their weekly women's defense courses and two free passes to their indoor range. After all was said and done, I looked at the clock in my car. They had stayed after closing, range and all, to ensure my mother had what she needed. Fantastic experience. Nicely done. read more

I have been there 3 times. The first time was to shoot my Springfield XD9 and the indoor shoot range. I don't have a membership so I had to go through the process of signing up and and the whole 9 yards. Which would have been fine except I couldn't get anyone to sign me up. It was a solid 15 minute wait just to get someone to help me. When someone did finally show up they were extremely rude. I went ahead and shot and the range was nice and I would love to shoot there all the time. The second time I went it I was looking for a very specific gun I wasn't sure they had. They were very helpful and nice even though I didn't make a purchase and they were busy. Overall a good experience. I eventually found the gun I was looking for at a different store and went back to shoot it. Granted it was a little late in the day but I wanted a specific self defense ammo. I asked a man behind the counter and he was very blunt and rude about not having it and not being able to get it. I was ok with them not having it but he was rude. I said I would just buy the bulk ammo because I wanted to shoot at the range. He told me not to waste my time because it was busy and they were closing soon. Again. He was very rude about it. I told him to just forget it. This would be a 1 star rating if my second visit hadn't gone well. I don't think I'll be going back and hope that they get some decent employees to help their customers. read more

This place is great. Very professional and family owned place which hires lots of police and veterans. The ranges are always clean and I have yet to wait to shoot although sometimes it takes a few minutes to get check-in sorted. The only thing preventing it from being a 5 is the same reason why I like it. I don't really get a lot of personality. It is the professionalism I like but just wish could be a little more down to earth. It could be misconstrued as rude but I take it for what it is. They are running a gun shop and you get same kind of conversation as you would from a polite police officer. read more
