Kevin makes the class very interactive, so it definitely isn't boring. Kevin also has a Police/Military background so he provides you with really useful information on how to handle yourself in different scenario's. The classroom portion is done at his home and I felt comfortable. The practical portion is done behind his farm and you will go through about 100 rounds while utilizing different shooting techniques. I liked how he had us do more then just the normal stand and shoot at a target. Kevin had us doing shooting while walking and shooting from the side of an object that you use for cover. This class is not intimidating like some other CPL courses as Kevin is a very easygoing person. It's easy to miss this place. Just look for the American Flag on the red barn. Bring the cash for the course, eye protection, ear protection, a firearm and about 100 rounds of ammo. In the Summer, Kevin said he will be doing advanced shooting courses for those that are interested. I highly recommend this course to those seeking to obtain their Michigan CPL.

How nice it is to need to use the facilities of a public place and not have to worry about accidentally touching ANYTHING. Although on a mission to get to the range-section of the facility, I semi-noticed a variety of merchandise to be purchased: used weapons, t-shirts, hats, ammo - other stuff, just not sure what. It was arranged throughout, and again, mission: range-section. Range-section. Wow. Getting "legal" was easy-peasy. The necessary documents to be read and autographed were online and available via an iPad. There were a variety of target options - including fun targets. I opted for the Battle Ship layout. (Still couldn't sink my own *&^%$ battleship, but that's another story that involves returning* to MSC and practicing.) The greatest feature was the employees. Those with whom I came into contact were friendly, kind, and helpful - except Matt. Matt was an above-and-beyond rockstar. (The others likely were as well, Matt was just the one stuck with me.) I was beyond impressed and grateful for Matt's proactiveness while I was on the range. Ditto, his knowledge and passion. There were a couple of pieces of advice I found to be SUPER helpful, yet to date had not learned from anyone else. The passion, kindness, and friendly attitude still leaves me wondering if perhaps he wasn't just some firearms enthusiast who wondered in off the streets. She knows nothing about firearms and needed appraisals to settle his estate. Three gun shops low-balled the value and wanted to buy them at those estimates and refused to try to sell them on consignment. I found Precision Arms on the internet and Todd explained in great detail how they would sell them on an internet auction site. Long story short, all guns were sold in probably 30 days and for far more than they were originally appraised for. In addition, Todd kept both Rachael and me informed as to how things were going. They did what they said they would--top notch professionalism and communication. Precision Arms is my new favorite gun store!

9/14/19 Today I've completed Armed Citizen: Every Day Carry (EDC) with Defensive and Tactical…read moreApplications (DTA). This is my 3rd consecutive yr completing this class. Each time, the shoothouse is rearranged to accommodate realistic, every day scenarios for students to complete with role players. This is a force-on-force class using UTM munitions. Today we completed 9 scenarios, anything from getting out of your car, going into a store, or just getting home from work. Each scenario encompassed shoot/no shoot decisions with multiple roleplayers involved. This class takes you out of the "square range" shooting paper targets. UTMs feel like getting stung by a wasp too, so even with multiple layers of clothing, it stings every time you get shot. If an armed citizen truly wants to test their knowledge, situational awareness, and shooting ability, please consider taking force-on-force training at the Muncie Threat Assessment Center (MTAC) or at any similar facility near you. I've trained with Defensive and Tactical Applications (DTA) at MTAC for 3 years. I train with multiple other training companies too. While all companies do an excellent job, DTA is the only training company in Indiana providing this reality-based force-on-force training multiple times each year.
