Went here with Austrian friends, on the hunt for what seemed billed as the best Mexican around. Had…read moreto drive a fair bit to get there, but hoped it would be worth it. I hail from Colorado, where great Mexican is not hard to find, and I've missed it in my years here.
Well, this aint the place. The food and margaritas are poor to fair at best, and far from authentic. The décor works well, and the big play-garten with donkeys is fun for the kids (Heurigen-style), but the main event, the food, ruins it.
Tortilla chips are made out of fried pastry crust. I doubt they ever heard of corn tortillas. Standard salsa is watery, odd-tasting and without kick. Quesadillas are a joke. Tacos aren't at all tacos; my kids just turned up their noses and wouldn't touch them, and I couldn't blame them.
I could go on, but haven't the heart for it!
