Remington Tires

To start, I usually do not feel inclined to leave a review, that being said I was so pleased with…read moremy experience with Remington tires that I felt a review was well earned. I reached out to a few different mechanics looking for quotes on some work I was needing done on my 2004 Mini Cooper, a car, I learned, not many mechanics are willing to work on. Those that do work on them know they are among a select few that can and they exploit that fact by charging you an arm and a leg. I was pleased with the very fair estimate that I received from Remington tires and made the trip out to see them. While going over my car I was called and informed that the work I asked them to do was not required, instead I needed a separate part. I asked them if they could still take care of it and they did. They were even able to keep the cost (aside from the higher price of a caliper vs rotor) the same as they quoted me. On top of that, they informed me of another, potentially dangerous, issue I have with the car that needs attention. They were generally concerned for my safety, so much so, they even offered me a ride back to the city if I wanted to leave it with them. Needless to say at this point, I will absolutely be returning to Remington Tires for any and all of my auto needs. You should definitely bring them your business, you won't regret it!

I took my vehicle to Rim Recon to have the wheels powder coated with every expectation of having this be a great experience, after all their website says and I quote, "If you're not 100% satisfied with our service let us know right away and Rim Recon will make it right." I dropped my vehicle off and was advised that I would have it back the following day which I did. When I went to pick the vehicle up after being called and advised only that the vehicle was done, I was told, in passing that he couldn't get my tires back on the rims with the TPMS sensors on therefore he left them off. It wasn't until I said that I need them back on there that he advised me as to why he couldn't get them on and that he would put them back on if I bought new screws for the valve stems. I ended up purchasing new valve stems all together and taking the vehicle back to have the TPMS sensors put back on the vehicle. When I dropped the vehicle off I asked that the old valve stems be placed in the bag that I brought the new valve stems in and left in the vehicle, he agreed. Later that same day I received a call stating that they could drop my vehicle off at my house which I thought was very nice. The vehicle was dropped off at my house and when I got into the vehicle I see that my TPMS sensor lights are still on and the old stems are not in the vehicle as agreed. I called the shop to ask what was going on and he stated, oh yeah, you have to drive it around for a while before you can reset the sensors in the car. You would think that he would've told me that when they dropped my vehicle off instead of just dropping it off leaving me to wonder. I drove and reset the sensors. At the first opportunity I decide to wash my vehicle and I always hand wash my vehicle. While washing my car I noticed that there is a lug nut missing from both of the rear wheels! I sent a text to the shop, no response. A couple of days later I drove to the shop to speak with the owner it was at that time he decided to tell me that those Lugnuts were stripped. Mind you, they took my wheels off and put them back on my vehicle at least twice therefore they stripped the Lugnuts. Of course the owner claims they didn't and it was a BMW issue and maybe they didn't put them on after the first time either but he wasn't sure (WTF is that). I asked if since they are the ones who stripped them would they replace them? He claimed they didn't strip them therefore he would not. I can afford Lugnuts but it's the principal so I just walked away. I waited a few hours before I posted this to see if they would have a change of heart and make things right but they haven't so here it is. My suggestion would be that if you know of another shop that can do your powder coating, use them instead of RIM RECON.
