I needed a tire and tube replaced on an old military tire and wheel. The installation was completed properly by the young technician From my previous experience I know that these tires are very difficult to change without pinching the tube. On vacation needed 2 new tires and freds was only shop with tires in stock. They make appointments for tire replacement. We didn't know this but Nikki at the front desk accomodated us. The told us it would be 30 mins before car could be started and it was done within 45 mins total. The had the best price in town for our tires. I had a slow leak from a puncture while driving in Joshua Tree National Park. It was too late to take the car into a tire shop after AAA put on the spare doughnut. Had to stay the night at Travel Lodge. Met a young man at the motel who recommended Fred's Tires. I got my my tire fixed quickly with excellent and friendly service from Aaron who also gave me a few useful tips about tires and tire wear. Thanks Aaron!!! Called Niki the other day on Tuesday to order two rear tires for my 2013 BMW 750 Li. She made an appointment for me to come in on Wed at 2:30pm. First of all I gotta say how pleasant and quick they are here! I came in to get 2 new rear tires and was out in maybe 15 minutes...quickest service I've ever experienced! The only bad news is that I didn't come to these guys first! (I was referred to Big O Tires by a co-worker of mine so I went there just a few weeks before coming to Fred's). Fred asked me who did my brakes pads because it he said it was very sloppily done (I'm no car expert but he said something to the effect that they weren't glued properly or something? Regardless, it didn't sound very safe). He also said my rotors weren't machined properly when I took them to Big O so naturally I'm going to come back to Fred's when I need new ones! If you don't want to be sitting around at a dealership or the like all day then go to Fred's. They'll have you in and out quick! Also, if you need to run errands and you only have the car that's being worked on Fred offers to take you around to help you out with errands. I went in because I had been driving around town looking for a place to do my tires. I asked for the prices and they were upfront, seemed a little pricey, but I was desperate. I needed my tires fixed. I agreed to the service and when I drove to the back to leave my car in their bay, they had a Trump flag front and center. It had been a couple days since the election, so I didn't pay much attention. Your political beliefs are whatever, I'm here for a service. When I came back to collect my car, there was also a massive confederate flag on the wall that I hadn't noticed. While the work was very fast and the staff were semi-cold and giving me weird looks the entire time I was there, now I understood why. As a non-white person, I will not be returning to this establishment and I hadn't said anything at the time to not rock the boat which I deeply regret and in turn hope that this will serve as a heads up for others. I'm super disappointed because I really wanted to keep giving my money to local businesses but for now I think I'll stick with friends and family. read more

I loved Cory and the way he ran his business. I needed 4 tires a few months back and was surprised that no one had masks on. I have cancer and need to be extra cautious. But I needed tires also. I stepped outside to wait and noticed a little store next door ran by Corys family. When I walked in there were 2 people. One customer and the owner. Neither wearing masks. The owner asked if I wanted her to wear a mask. I asked why she wouldn't already have one on and the customer said it was their right of choice. When I asked the owner to put one on or I couldn't stay, the other customer left. The owner put the mask on and everything was fine. I'm not sure why business owners would choose not to wear a mask for the safety of their customers. Such a simple thing to do and considerate for immune compromised people especially. I still love this place but I will have to go elsewhere. read more
