Whatever the case - if you are a local or in the area for summer - when that ever arrives - check this place out because it's not just lumber at Smith's. The place has a huge selection from hot tub supplies to that little something special for the lawn tractor! Every time my wife and I go into this place - well - it amazes us! There is new items that arrive throughout the year and this is the one place in town that actually has something for every season. You will find some of the friendliest staff inside or across the street when you actually go there for lumber. Oh yeah - they have the best wood pellets, a few tools and YES FREE popcorn! Folks it doesn't get any better then this. Well - with one exception - with all this greatness - they accept credit cards for a reason - the prices are not Walmart, but then again - it's better that way. Checks and Cash always welcome and they have plenty of parking - it's FREE too! The only reason they don't get 5 stars out of me is because of the slightly higher then I'd like prices!

If they don't have what you are looking for they'll order for you. Right now the store is doing some remodeling which will make this store better.

The carpeting was fine. We made it clear that installers would need to move furniture. The first…read moreinstaller came by himself and said he couldn't do it. The next day three men arrived and the final job with the carpet was fine. But the owner (Home Base subs this work) was rude and told us we were lucky he was willing to do it, that most installers would take one look at the three rooms and leave. We made it clear that when it was time to move the antique 1770s tall clock that the owner would move the works. The boss went ahead and moved it, severely damaging the works. A local was finally able to repair it, but Home Base said they would not pay the cost because the work was not done on a company letterhead as a receipt. So the cost was ours. We have spent close to $9,000 here, but never again.
