We were two couple and we had a lovely meal at Store Kro ("The Big Inn"). We ate n the courtyard on a balmy Danish evening. The service was professional.
The menu consists of a number of small plates with a suggested chef's menu -- venison the night we were there. My wife and I both had turbot. Our friends had the chef's menu. The starters were lovely: fried oysters and beautiful Greenland shrimp on crackers. .
But I have a feeling that the chef is trying just a bit too hard to get the gourmet gold ring. What happened to well prepared for that is not all tarted up and waiting for the Michelin guy to come by?
Don't get me wrong. We enjoyed the evening: the ambience, the service, the conversation, the wine. It was very good. AndB that's the Yelp definition of four stars. read more
