Marvelous atmosphere with an interconnected beer garden in the middle. Stunning food offers that shine on their own and sing louder when paired with their beers. The team at holy grale also bring it all together with incredible service. The burger is incredible, but I always come back for the schnitzel platter. I only wish they had a spaetzle to go with it! The fries are proper chippies, thick square cut and long. Crispy outside, fluffy inside. And there are so many dips to choose from. Salads are crisp and light and a marvelous side. I cannot say enough good things. I love the grales.

We had a couple cocktails in here and the service was excellent even though it appeared they were filled to capacity. There were 4 of us in our party and we were seated at a table in the corner near the bar. Was definitely a cozy spot with so many people being in there and the bar being full. I had The Holy Ghost cocktail and it was a pomegranate hibiscus sour, it had just the right amount of sour! I do not like bitter drinks and this one was good and easy to drink. My husband had a couple of dark beers, I do not remember which ones but he liked them. They had a nice outdoor area but it was a bit too cool for that but it may be worth a return in the Spring to check it out. Bathroom was also really cool as the decor and theme spilled over into it. We will be back.

A local artist take on Kentucky's Mount Rushmore with Muhammed Ali, Abraham Lincoln, colonel sanders and horse legend secretariat. Not sure those would be the 4 I'd choose to represent Kentucky but it still a really cool rendition and fun photo op. Over the next few weeks I plan on checking out all kinds of Louisville's public art. I've started in the highlands today and within extremely close walking distance of this mural is two other cool public art spots in the sculpture "homeless Jesus" and the "spirit of highlands" wall mural. Overall cool addition to the local art scene. A fun one as it can open the debate. Who is your Mount Rushmore of Kentucky?

The…read morepainting is of Louisville's four favorite sons, Muhammad Ali, Abraham Lincoln, Colonel Sanders, and racing horse and triple crown winner, Secretariat. It is located in the highland area of Louisville. The Mural was supposed to be a giant mountain sculpture, similar to Mount Rushmore. However, funding could not even come close to that very ambitious goal, so they had to settle for the mural. The mural was created by Margaret Morely in 2013 and is on the side of the original WHY Louisville store, which is now Sweet Spot Candy Shop. The mural is tucked in between the candy shop and the Doo Wop Shop, a musical instrument store. It is in a little ally way that leads to the Doo Wop Shop's parking area. Sadly, the Muhammad Ali image has been the target of vandals on a few occasions, with orange paint. There is always someone that wants to be a jerk and ruin things. There is lots of street parking available to for you to get out and check out the mural. It is hard to get a good look from your car becuse the street that it is on is so busy and it is located in a small alleyway. It is not a long stop unless you plan on visiting one of the shops while you are there.

DO NOT LIVE HERE!…read more IF YOU READ NO OTHER REVIEW PLEASE READ THIS Please DONT LISTEN to the 5 star reviews, almost 90% of them are from management asking repeatedly for them. Some are from the management themselves. I paid $8,000 just to leave this place. I moved into Highland Station in June 2024 as a student and I will be leaving in March 2026 after paying almost $8,000 to break my lease. Within weeks of moving in, I began experiencing constant noise from the unit above, stomping and dragging furniture, which was loud enough to disrupt both sleep and studying. I reported the issue to management, sent videos with timestamps, and followed up for six months. I emailed, called, and kept records. Management never offered mediation, a unit transfer, soundproofing, or any real solution. They just kept saying they'd look into it, but nothing changed. Even now, I can literally hear them at times talking, I can hear when they come home where they walk to, every single noise. Not to mention the AC issues, the breaker tripping, the drain plate getting clogged and not being able to get AC for days because there is no emergency maintenance. The building buzzer for my unit was broken when I moved in, back in July 2024. I reported it right away and followed up every month--August through December. Each time, I got the same answers: "We're working on it." It was never fixed, not once during my entire time living there. So now every delivery, every guest, every time someone needed to get in, you'll have to go downstairs and let them in because the buzzer doesn't work. They say it will be fixed in February 2026, but how can you trust that. The EV charger in the parking garage kept going offline--not just once or twice, but over a dozen times. I'd go down to charge my car and find it dead again. I reported it every time. Sometimes it got fixed, but then it would break the same week or even the same day. Even now, as I write this, it's not working again. No matter how many times I asked them to check it, no one seemed able to figure out why the charger doesn't work. I found a dead bug inside the coffee machine in the amenity lounge. I took a photo and left the cup with the bug under the machine so they could see it. I don't know if they ever did anything about it. Safe to say, I stopped using the amenity spaces. Not to mention I also had pest problems inside my own unit, tried to get pest control to come out, lo and behold no one ever came, no appointment was scheduled. When you're paying over $2,300 a month for an 1Bed/Bath apartment, you don't expect to deal with pests. But that's reality. The management company changed this year. I hoped things would improve, but it has been weeks, nothing changed. Different names, same problems: promises with no follow-through, maintenance requests that go nowhere, and the feeling that once you sign the lease, you're on your own. My sink and disposal have been broken for two weeks with no maintenance, charger still broken, noise complaints that, "can't be discussed because of confidentiality." I immediately lost faith that anything would ever change and contacted management about breaking my lease early. The buyout cost was equal to four months rent, almost eight thousand dollars. I paid it. I'm moving somewhere the management listens, the maintenance works and is truly available. Where the amenities don't break weekly. Where there isn't constant noise and pests. I want to be clear: I didn't break my lease because of one bad experience. I left because of months of documented complaints and plenty of promises broken. This building charges exorbitantly high rent for nothing. If you have unlimited patience, don't mind chasing management for basic repairs, can sleep through anything, and don't care if amenities actually work, Highland Station might be fine for you. Not mentioning the issues others have had which are still 100% prevalent here. LOOK ELSEWHERE.

I've had multiple packages stolen, my car window smashed, and was met with a dismissive, "Oh well, that's part of life." On top of that, a painting crew hired by Highland Station damaged my rug, and instead of taking full responsibility, they are nickeling and diming me by refusing to reimburse me for the full amount. There is absolutely no consideration for tenants here. It's shocking that the staff can show up every day and put on a facade of professionalism. They market this property as "luxury," but nothing about it is remotely luxurious. If you want to overpay for rent, get hit with hidden fees, deal with the biggest scam of RBS utilities, and be treated with complete disregard if an issue arises, then Highland Station is the place for you. Security is nonexistent. Despite paying $95 per month for "secure" parking, break-ins are rampant. They'll tell you, "Everyone wants to live in the Highlands and Nulu," but that's absolute nonsense. There are far better, safer, and truly luxurious options in East Louisville. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from Highland Station and any property owned by The Connor Group. Do your research and don't make the same mistake I did.
