On a weekend getaway filled with celebrations, we spent an entire Saturday touring not one, not two, but five wineries and had it not been for Freddy Gs who knows where we'd have gone. We were lucky to have been paired up with Jose who drove us from one to the next on a perfectly selected bunch of wineries that were all different and equally as fantastic. Our group is no quiet bunch that has a good time, so Jose was fun and fit right in. He is from the area and gave good insight on other wineries to check out after our tour was over, restaurants and eateries in the area, local hot spots...when in doubt ask Jose. Before we set off on the grand tour, he greeted us promptly with two bottles of wine that we saved for later. There were 7 of us and we all were comfortable in the van that was provided. For our day out, we made several stops that included: Walla Walla Vintners - The vineyard and landscape is cozy and very comfortable. We were the only group there and got a really great conversation going about their wines and about a couple of other places to try out. The interior is beautiful with stained barn doors and paneled windows. For the wines...don't be afraid to go back and forth. I did a taste test without knowing which wine was which and wound up enjoying a wine that was completely unexpected. I loved that this was encouraged. They want you to drink what is perfect for your palette. Tranche - This is a very modern winery with beautiful art scattered around. Had it been a warmer day and the back doors opened into a courtyard overlooking the vines it would be have been perfect. They have a variety of lighter bodied wines, so if you're looking for a blush. Alluve - Interesting backstory of the couple who served in the Air Force, it's a very small tasting room at the top of their Italian themed villa. The landscaping was beautiful, but the story on the property is well worth a listen to. Amavi - Two words. Vintage Chevy. Be prepared to pay upfront for your wine tasting here and be given a token to be used when you purchase wine later. The winery itself is very spacious and offers gorgeous views. We had a personal tasting with the owner who walked us through their wines as well as the history of the winery and he offered to take a picture of us in an old vintage Chevrolet truck on the property. We took full advantage and absolutely wanted Jose to be part of that picture because he had been such a great guide for the entire day. Castillo de Feliciana Vineyard and Winery - This winery, and the experience of it is why we are thankful for Freddy G's service. We made this our last stop (that's a lot of wine tasting!) and it was the best recommendation on the fly. We turned to Jose and asked about a winery with bubbles and he was immediate in responding. His knowledge of the wineries, and his personal taste came right into play and it was outstanding. The winery is basically a Spanish villa and utterly adorable. There was only one person working and she was busy, but don't let that discourage, she was well aware of who was coming and going and did not forget anyone during their tasting. Because there's some driving involved getting from one place to the next, we bypassed wasting any time for ourselves and took up a great recommendation from Jose and from one of the wineries had him pick up some lunch for us from a delicious lunch spot called Graze. Yum, the food hit the spot and held us over until we parked it on the next tasting. Working with Freddy to get the logistics prepared for the wineries and then having Jose made for a great first time outing in Walla Walla. We had great communication and it was a smooth and easy process and the overall service provided was above and beyond. I highly recommend as wine tasting can be daunting in a very spread out region, this took the stress out of trying to figure out what winery to go to when there's well over 160 to choose from. I called Freddy G on a whim while researching wine tour companies in Eastern WA for a friend's bachelorette party this past summer. And I'm so glad I did! Freddy is incredibly responsive, energetic, knowledgeable, and his service is top notch. After speaking with him, he sent me a quote along with recommendations for wineries. He also recommended dinner places, since we didn't know the area very well. He is responsive by email, but he loves phone calls and getting to know his customers that way, so I'd recommend speaking to him by phone if you can! He followed up with confirmations, and arrived early on the day-of. Freddy became our buddy! He kept us on time (managing a bachelorette party is like herding cats), introduced us to each tasting team, picked up lunch we had called in (you have to eat while drinking all day), and genuinely took care of the group from start to finish. So, I felt perfectly comfortable pre-arranging with him to be "on call" when I had a group of 8 visiting from out of town over the holidays. We had four couples heading to Walla Walla for our second annual fall launch winery outing and this year, we didn't want to burden ourselves with a designated driver. In steps Freddy and his rocking driver, Marquell. I called the day before our trip and was nervous that we weren't going to find available drivers. But Freddy shuffled things around for us and we were on our way in the big white van. Music, water and a driver who knew the roads like the back of his hand. These guys are great!! They were able to accommodate a change from a party of 2 to 6 with a less than 24 hour notice. Lisa picked us up a little early and was fully prepared. She packed water in a cooler, had takeout menus at the ready and was flexible with the plan. She kept the van cool throughout the day so our wine purchases did not go bad. Just back from Walla Walla. We again used Freddy. He is wonderful and the service is 5 stars. This is the 3rd year we have been with him and we had a few wineries that we wanted to visit and then Freddy added to that list. It was the start of the harvest and we were there during the week. Many tasting rooms on the wineries only open on weekends during harvest time. Freddy got us in everywhere and the winery folk stated that they will always open for Freddy's guests. My friends and I were in Walla Walla for the weekend and although we had a car, with all the lovely wine we wanted to minimize our driving. Freddy was recommended to us at our hotel and he was amazing. I have used Freddy G and his company three times now and EVERY time they deliver with drivers who are professional, incredibly knowledgeable and thoughtful. Dorian is AMAZING and gave us the best experience at Reininger on top of a fabulous day of a private barrel tasting! I don't think we carried a single bottle to the van which was clean and well sized for a party of 6. Additionally, thanks to Freddy G and Dorian the wineries were called ahead and knew our party was coming and we often had a set table waiting for us- for 6 moms away from home and taking care of families this was a HUGE treat!
