We took the 'red' route which brought us to the canal. About half way through there was an actual boardwalk that was above the water/swampy area. Walking there it was really cool to see the forest of palms. We also saw plenty of butterflies and geckos. No alligator sightings in the canal.

You do need to watch the weather because if you're trying to do the loop it can get a little too marshy back there to make it possible. Bring bug spray. The horseflies almost carried me away. If you'd like to look at nature and just get outside and walk this is a great spot to do it. Watch your footing because some of the spots do get a little slick.

It was quite nice and a perfect walk with my pup Mocha Coconut with a great view of Lake Minneola. They have a nice free parking lot here also. It's a block away from the downtown area where most shop are on Montrose Ave. it's also a hop, skip and jump away from the new Salt Shack in the Lake which is originally from Tampa. It's a lakeside water view restaurant. Definitely Fall Vibes. There's a walking trial here with benches and it's a great scenic spot Check it out! Definitively a nice spot while in Clermont. We also walked in Montrose Ave., ate at Cosa Nostra, stopped in Montrose St. Market, Clermont Coffee, and lastly left the immediate area and went to the Citrus Tower for holiday lights.

Opened in 2018, ten acre Victory Pointe Park is a storm water treatment pond, community park, and a…read morenative wildlife habitat. At a cost of 9.5 million dollars, the City of Clermont, the Community Solutions Group and Powell Studio Architecture partnered together on a project to create a solution to the pollution in Lake Mineola. They came up with a storm water treatment plan and designed a facility that improves the drainage in downtown Clermont and while cleaning the water entering Lake Minneola, which has been designated as impaired water by the State of Florida. As water hits land it picks up chemicals, pesticides, oil, and sediment before entering Lake Minneola. Victory Pointe is able to filter out these contaminants before the water gets to the lake. After it rains the water drains into swales and planters which provides stage one of treatment. In stage two the water is directed into retention ponds where bio-swales and planters further filter the water. In the last two stages of treatment, water enters an inundated marsh and filter marsh. From there the water enters Lake Minneola. Interpretive signage installed around the park provide education about the storm water treatment system, how it works, and how it helps the environment. The park also includes a 40 foot tower, trails that lead to businesses downtown, a restroom, and a performance area for staging festivals and athletic competitions. During my visit the park was the site of the Light Up Clermont event for the holidays. The part of the event staged in the park was called Holiday Enchanted Forest. Different themed trees were decorated by local businesses and civic organizations and displayed. There was so much creativity. I loved it, especially at night when it was all lit up and holiday music was playing. Next door to the park is Clermont's Historic Village. This is park is not only beautiful to look at but it is also important to the development of downtown businesses by providing a place for storm water to drain away.

There are a few tennis courts, a little walkway oh, and a nice, little dog park. They do pretty good with the space that they are allotted. On the particular morning that I visited P E A.R. Park, it was gray, chilly and dismal, yet the people visiting the park were friendly and only enhanced the experience. All in all, my visit to this park was a nice respite from the highway and stress and strain of modern living and all of the hassles involved with it. If you are cruising through Leesburg on 27 and are looking for a parkto takeabreak, this is a good place to head for. AsI have said, this is a small Park, however, Leesburg it's not a big place. I think this park fix the city of Leesburg quite well. I am giving it four stars overall.

One section is the Passive Wildlife Conservation Area and the other half is the Gateway. The Gateway is a combination of Active Recreation and natural areas. The dog park just off of the parking area and the tennis court/pickleball courts are very popular. Past that there are nice hiking trails, workout areas , pavilions, gardens, soccer field and more. This is a nice area to visit. It's clean, safe and well marked.

Came here the day after thanksgiving to check out this 46 mile trail and it was definitely worth…read morebiking due to the beauty you encounter. It took us about 3-4 hours with a 20 min stop in Floral City in the middle. We saw the occasional tortoise roaming along the trail side and pretty trees with Spanish Moss. This state trail also makes its way through areas where hunting is allowed so be warned and careful around hunting season. We noticed a park attendant in a truck which had a blower mounted on it driving down the trail and leaf blowing. That explained how pristine it was to ride it. Really enjoyed this area and finding some local wineries to sample from nearby. Floral City had a bike rental shop and noticed a number of people riding recumbent bikes on the trail.

There's a Withlacoochee River something or other part. And there are at least two other access roads to State Forest areas off S.R. 50. The Van Fleet Trail, a 29.3 mile rail-to-trail linear park, is toward the eastern part. WSF offers some good opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts to explore and adventure. So get outside and enjoy. :)

Across from it is a pavilion with picnic tables. Parking on most days is ample, however, during large events you might find it to be a challenge. The trail is well maintained to include the trail surface. There are many benches along the trail. The trail is maintained by the park service and they do come out to check on the facilities. A lot of the trail is shaded which makes a pleasant ride experience.
