Fred Meyer Management 8955 SE 82nd Ave Happy Valley, OR 97086 Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding a hazardous incident and subsequent poor customer service that occurred at your Fred Meyer location at 8955 SE 82nd Ave, Johnson Creek, on Thursday, November 28th, at approximately 10:24 AM. While using pump #1 at the diesel self-service station, the pump failed to stop automatically, resulting in an overflow and a significant diesel spill. I promptly sought assistance from the station attendants, who were screaming to shut down the diesel pump due to the hazardous spill. One of the employees who came to help clean up the spill mentioned that this issue with the diesel pumps is recurring and has been previously reported to management, but no action has been taken to resolve it. Following the incident, my wife and I went inside the store to speak with the management. We waited by the florist area until two men approached us. The older gentleman, who we later learned is named Kevin and is the assistant manager, asked how he could help us. When I explained the hazardous situation and the need for the diesel pump to be fixed, he dismissively claimed he had never heard any previous complaints about it and blamed me for the incident because I used the self-service pump, insisting that I was liable. He was very rude, speaking loudly and treating us as if we were ignorant. When I asked to file a claim in case my vehicle sustained any damage from the incident, my wife detailed the incident in the claim form. After she finished, Kevin rudely pulled the paper from her hand. When I requested a copy, he said they would call us and attempted to keep the document. We managed to take pictures of the claim before leaving the store. After leaving the store, we asked a store employee for the manager's name, as Kevin never introduced himself. We were informed that the store manager is named Jackie and that she was off for the holidays. We then called 1-800-KROGER to report this incident and open another claim. The employee who took our report was more understanding and apologized for the situation. We requested a phone call from upper-level management as soon as possible. On November 29th, we received a voicemail from a Kroger claim representative, but when I called back, no one answered. I received another voicemail on Sunday, December 1st. When I called back, I spoke to another employee who did not know what I was talking about and asked me to open another claim. I requested to be transferred to management multiple times, and she placed my call on hold, but no one picked up after several minutes, so I hung up. I am deeply disappointed and frustrated with the way this situation has been handled. Not only did we experience a hazardous incident, but the customer service we received from the assistant manager and subsequent interactions with your claims department were unprofessional and dismissive. This is not the level of service I expect from a company with the reputation of Fred Meyer. I request that you investigate this matter urgently and take necessary corrective actions to prevent future occurrences. Additionally, I seek assurance that the claim we filed will be properly processed and that we will be informed of any developments. Furthermore, I would appreciate a response detailing the steps that will be taken to address this problem and ensure customer safety at your gas stations. Always fill up here when I'm running errands on SE 82nd. Large, 8 lane gas station that is clean well maintained. It's always busy but employees do a good job getting everyone serviced and in and out quickly. Prices are already better than other gas stations and then with your Fred Meyer discount, depending on your points, it's 10 cents to 59 cents less per gallon. Who doesn't love that? Even if the lines take a little longer, for the great price, it's worth it. Tolerance is so underrated and needed, especially in the current environment. Easy access from Freddy's parking lot or the side street entrance. Trader Joe's is on the next block so I fill up on gas then fill up on Trader Joe's faves. read more

Chase is very rude and has talked back to my wife several times and harassed her to no end. We have bought our gas there since they opened. The person who is working there, Zeus, was incredibly rude. Not to.mention really not smart or safe. She ended up doing me a favor as the station further down had gas 60c cheaper, but why do FM hire people who have no competency? I never waited so long to get my gas when there is hardly anyone there and here is why I say that. The gas pumpers work in slow motion to the point of them almost walking backwards and through time and ending up where I've made the horrible decision of coming here. I know it's good to take your time on things but got damn don't be taking my time with it and there's always like 10 people working and half the lanes closed so I don't get why it would take so long to even greet me or just a nod to my existence. The best gas station in Portland, and one of the newest. It'd be hard to find a prettier gas station than this Freddy's Gas Station! Especially since most gas stations look rather played out... They have 8 fuel lanes! Whoo Hoooo... it's like Disney Fuel-Landia! The service is very Freddy's-Like, they even have a vast array of snack o's... they refill propane tanks... they sell firewood... they wear cool uniforms.... it's ....ok sorry... Get bonus points cause it's just down the avenue to the way cool Eco Car Wash, home of the robots! oh yeah, and we saved 50 cents per gallon by using our Freddy's card thingie. Doh! read more

I don't need the political commentary from the gas attendant about the cause of the high gas prices.

The three attendants that was working today around 4pm needs to improve their customer service skills. I pulled in to get gas about 6 cars at pumps other cars pulling in also, the 3 attendants just sitting in there office talking. Not one of them helping nobody i go up to the office like what's going on one of them say oh we're closed. Filed a complaint with the corporation about the aggressive and hostile demeanor of a male employee at this location. He is very friendly towards women and spends too much time chatting them up with his gas pumping rhetoric. That said this same individual seems negativly triggered in the extreme towards men or male customers. A few weeks ago I drove there to fuel my commercial work vehicle; I'm a member of the first responder community. This employee wasn't wearing a mask and stood beside the gas pump. I could not see the female customer on the other side, but heard the employee ask, "would you like a receipt?". I answered no thank you and the employee went from extremely friendly to frightfully aggressive while shockingly growling "I wasn't talking to you!!". Today I drove up with my van and parked to get fueled up. The employee spent ages personal self-aggrandizng himself with a female customer about his gas pumping experience while myself and an adjacent male customer waited for service. The employee finished with the female customer then walked past me without a thought, then turned suddenly and said "what can I do for you?". I answered that I need a regular fill and here is my fuel card and other info. Next I asked the employee to please slide the side door back until it latches and then pull the fuel door cover out towards you. The male employee again took on a frightening demeanor, then stated, "I'm not authorized to manipulate vehicle doors", slammed the door shut and walked away. Good place and inexpensive gas. Don't like the two ladies working there on July 08, 16. She pumped my up my car, and walked away. My car was done a 10mn ago, but she was still talking to each other behind the office, they didn't care. They let and old man working there, doing all the job alone. I had to walk out and took the pump out and got my receipt. They saw me, but would not care to come up, instead one of them was shouting out " Have a good day". What a rude way! I never thought I'd be writing a review for a gas station, but I definitely want to give a shout out to this particular Fred Meyer Gas location on SE 82nd Avenue near SE Holgate. Of course, the station is nice and clean, their prices are low, and I also get a discount with my Fred Meyer Rewards Card, but what really impresses me about this particular location is the good natured attitude and friendliness of EVERY SINGLE employee I've encountered there. I swear, everyone who works there is cheerful. . .even in the winter when it's freezing outside. I admire them and the good work they do. read more
