They've got a ton of classes and events coming up and they sell clothes there, as well so you can make your tutu and leotard dreams come true. Ok, moving on... Emi was super friendly and didn't make any of us feel like we were too stiff to be there (thank God, I saw bullets streaming down hubby's face when we pulled into the parking lot). The event we attended was called Elites Get Coupled, which was appropriate given that it was almost Valentine's Day. Though my guy was totally nervous about this, I'm so glad we went! Emi, along with Lorien, taught us some merengue moves, and it turns out almost anyone can learn to dance. We felt pretty good about our abilities by the end of the event! Lorien brought in her all-girl hip-hop group (I think they're part of the Pin-Up Troupe?), and they were SO COOL... and talented, obviously. I could have watched these ladies perform all day!! Though they may have had me feeling like my new merengue moves were a little lame, at least now I know I have something to work towards... right? One of the best parts about Dancefx is the fact that they're a non-profit and donate to all kinds of local charities that support causes like fighting AIDS, helping the homeless and people with disabilities, and so on. I think it'd be such a thoughtful date idea to bring someone here and learn a couples dance! You get to know each other in a different way and can judge once and for all who's got better moves (I think we all know who won that dance off...wink wink). I will admit the annoying part here was paying 20 a person, per class, and coming with my own partner, but having to dance half the time with another partner. For that reason I'll probably do a private session. Though I get the intent to help everyone that comes, that super annoying. But the instructors are patient and easy to understand and in each class you learn 4-6 moves. Also, it's a bit weird when they have two classes going on in one studio. Makes it hard with limited space but big classes. Parking is fine. Once you leave the parking lot, you walk through a hallway, and the studio is around the back(or you can just park in the back and walk up the stairs).

My experience here is limited to just the Monday night class experience. I was greeted and the front door with a warm welcome by Kevin. I was hoping to attend both the beginner Bachata and a Salsa class, however, the classes that I was interested in were offered during the same hour. I chose the Salsa class and later learned the Instructor was Sean. I was waiting for the beyond the basics class to begin when Sean asked me to join the beginner class since they could use more women. I joined the beginner class, stayed for the next and had a blast! Sean's method of teaching the class makes it easy to learn the steps. The class environment is upbeat and a partner is not required. The studio is located in a shopping center and consists of two small dance studio rooms. The adult Salsa & Bachata classes are Sunday & Monday. They have organized opportunities to practice at Nemos on Thursday and Saturday. They also offer dance classes for children. A class is $20 dropping or a month pass is $65 and there is a Yelp check-in discount of $5 off the month pass. I was visiting here long enough to reap the benefits of a monthly pass.
