Tiffany's review is probably right under mine. She told me it increased her overall happiness levels. I decided this was for me. The very next Thursday evening, I found myself in the Hip Hop class. At the time, the hip hop class was called Feel Euphoric Hip Hop. It was the only class I could find on the schedule that said it was for strictly beginners. They level all their classes from F0 to F4 depending on how much experience dancing you need to take the class. I am at an F0 level. I have never danced before, besides occasionally in the bed room. In the hip hop class, the instructor, Naquan, walks us through warm up dance exercises followed by stretches. Then we start learning a combo. He goes real slow and makes sure everyone understands this step before moving on to the next step. Naquan is an excellent instructor. He makes dance class fun. Since that initial visit, I've since taken several more of the hip hop classes on Thursday nights. A few weeks ago, Dance Lab opened up a new dance room in their studio. When they did this, more F0 beginner classes opened up. I have also tried the ballet/Jazz technique class. I love that class too and I plan to continue to take it every Sunday. There is also a twerk class, Twerkaholics, which is held on Wednesday evenings. I will be attending that one soon. I look forward to learning how to twerk at Dance Lab! Dance class at Dance Lab has significantly improved my overall happiness levels throughout all of life. Not only is dancing fun, but it's also a great way to sneak in exercise. Thank you, Dance Lab. I dedicate my 100th review to you.

I do wish they had some more daytime classes offered during the week. I tried the adult contemporary class on Sunday afternoon. I was feeling pretty nervous, not having been to a dance class in about 18 years or so, but Alexa was super welcoming. The class was great, it was so much fun to move like that again. I will defiantly go back and I highly recommend it, dancing is so good for the soul.

In fact, few things fill me with more anxiety than knowing I will be dancing. But my wife and I travelled to Charleston with two other couples and my wife wanted us all to go learn the Charleston. So we did. What the hell, I figured, we'll just have a few drinks beforehand and I'll muddle through. So that's what we did. We had a private lesson (the six of us) with John Michael. He was the best! The atmosphere was all about having fun, and John Michael kept things light and enjoyable. My anxiety was all for naught. We danced and laughed and enjoyed ourselves for an hour (which seemed to go by much quicker, with all the fun we were having). Rumor has it I may have even embarrassed myself less than I thought I might. In any event, our incompetence was no obstacle to our enjoyment. When we were done, we were having so much fun we thought, why end this now? We all went out with John Michael and shot pool for a few hours until we had to head to dinner. Needless to say, the fun continued throughout. I am so glad my wife wanted to learn the Charleston. It was absolutely one of the most enjoyable evenings I have had in a long time, and we made a local friend. Thank you DanceFX!

Dancers whose parents were heavily involved were prioritized over talent or effort. In one routine, I had less than an eight-count of actual dance but still paid full costume and competition fees. When my mother raised concerns, Nancy (owner at the time) brushed her off and said I "needed to be a team player." Competitions were also mishandled -- rehearsal hours were underreported to place dancers in lower divisions for a competitive advantage. After posting my Google review, Planet Dance dismissed it as "misinformation." I emailed the studio asking what was inaccurate and received no reply. I've attached that email and video clips showing Meghan harshly criticizing dancers and enforcing excessive conditioning -- this was a regular, belittling environment. To the owners: refusing to acknowledge concerns doesn't erase what happened. Planet Dance wasn't just a studio -- it was a huge part of my childhood. Trauma doesn't have a timeline. I see it every day in my old photos and memories. Nobody can tell me how to feel or when to stop speaking on it. If you think I'll stay quiet, you're wrong. I have every right to tell my story.
