I have since moved from the area, and on a recent visit "back home," I was dismayed at the changes to what used to be a charming little store, and a real gem in the Black Hills. The business was recently sold, and the new owners have turned it into a pitiful version of the charming business it was for years and years. They got rid of all of the vintage antiques. They now devote almost half of the store to fabric and quilting supplies. It's ironic that they carry such a vast amount of kitschy made-in-China crap, especially when so much of it touts ultra-right conservative, "patriotic" sentiment. I left the store feeling disappointed, offended, and just downright sad. Because I still have family in the Black Hills, I will come back often for visits, but will never spend another dollar in the store I once loved.

Mr. Jacobs was kind enough to come down from his studio and sign pieces that were purchased by his guests. A wonderful man who truly takes pride in his craft. The Gallery is located right on Main St and all are welcomed. Unfortunately I could not purchase the piece of Art that I wanted at this time due to storage space in my vehicle but there are business cards available at the front desk for anyone to take.
