This is a classic bistro setting, fast seating, lots of great sandwiches, a place for locals to hang out. The Salumaria has SO much food available, impossible to run out of good choices. Loved the vibe, good food, wine at the edge of is the remaining Mercato. We'd easily make it a go to place if we lived here.

We were turned on to this salumeria by our guide. It's at the end of the market. It's bustling and has a great vibe. It was saturated with tourists, but since a local recommended it, we were OK. Nice seating outdoors with large umbrellas that turned out to be critical because we were caught in a torrential rainstorm during our lunch. Wine with lunch is one of my favorite vacation indulgences. The restaurant has a lot of excellent, inexpensive wine by the glass and bottle. My buddy and I shared a terra platter, consisting of a bunch of salumi, cheeses, pickled vegetables, garnishes, bread and an out of this world cannoli. We also shared a sandwich with salami, cheese and sun dried tomatoes. The ladies had caprese and vegetarian sandwiches which were out of this world. We waited out the rainstorm with wine and cappuccino. The staff were very nice and didn't rush us. This has bee my favorite lunch in Sicily- totally worth doing!

I stumbled upon this lovely little eating area at the end of the markets, they had a decent menu of slow food options but I went with the prosciutto crudo di parma (parma ham with buffalo mozzarella) and it was amazing! I found the prices were a bit high but for the location and the quality of the ham and mozzarella it was worth the €12.50 for a platter and a bottle of mineral water. As other people have pointed out you can head inside and order the same meat/cheese from the counter cheaper but I was happy to sit down, relax and enjoy the market atmosphere.

A bit dangerous with a nut allergy since the sandwiches are served together in a metal tin, but I was safe! Highly recommend this spot, the sandwich was incredibly delicious and super cheap!

I'd definitely recommend asking for a sauce or maybe some vinegar when you order. I asked the server if I could have a lemon to help with the dryness, and she initially told me no...more than once. At the same time, she kept asking whether I was paying with cash or card before addressing my request. I didn't think asking for a lemon was unreasonable, so I stood my ground. Eventually, she brought me the lemon, and then I paid. The whole interaction felt unnecessarily difficult and came across as rude. The Panino #8 was really good and I enjoyed it, but it could definitely use a lot more pistachio sauce. I'd recommend asking for extra when you order because the flavor is great...it just needs more of it. Overall, the food has a lot of potential, especially if you make a couple of small adjustments to your order. I just wish the customer service had matched the quality of the food.

There was a table outside available just as I approached the place so I was fortunate enough to not have to wait. The space inside is very small and only about 4 small tables on the outside so be prepared to potentially wait. I simply put in my order for the Pesto di Pistachio Pasta and Hugo Spritz and people watched while I waited. The spritz came quickly so I enjoyed the refreshing spritz while waiting for my pasta. When I got my order and took that first bite...pure bliss. The al dente pasta and the subtle pistachio pesto flavor was delicious. Bite after bite and sip after sip, the whole experience on that outdoor table while watching the time pass was relaxing and satisfying. As I dined, I saw more and more people come and wait and I learned they have another location very close by. The waiter would walk them over to that location if they so pleased. The staff mainly speak Italian so be prepared for a language barrier. However, they were all very patient and friendly so no need to worry :)
